Legendary Broken Player - VRMMORPG

Chapter 679 - King Balam Under Siege

"We need to end this battle quickly. The way this grand war is progressing doesn't look good," Elincia stated firmly through the guild voice channel.

"I've been keeping an eye on the progress too," Broken replied.

He paused before continuing. "My only fear is that I'll arrive too late to do anything meaningful."

"Don't worry, young man," Goldrich interjected. "We're slowly finding our footing here. Each gate is getting the support it needs, and we're holding our ground well enough to either outlast or even defeat the Named Demons entirely."

"Booba has been absolutely phenomenal here, hahaha," Livelywood said with a hearty laugh.

"I think Booba should tell us more about his Wrath Champion. I'm sure it's a fascinating story," Goldrich added.

"Oh, he'll go on and on about it without us even needing to ask!" Melliandra quipped.

Jovina joined in. "Tell me, Booba, did you get that blessing by squeezing someone dry or blackmailing them? I bet we could use that method to claim every Divine Champion blessing for ourselves. Hahaha!"

Booba then shared some notes about the blessing he had received.

[Blessing of Dominant Surge]

[The Dominant Surge blessing provides its wielder with a formidable advantage in combat, dynamically enhancing their power based on the number and strength of surrounding enemies. This blessing is ideal for those who excel in high-risk or heavily outnumbered scenarios.]

[Surrounding Enemy Amplification]

[For every enemy within a 15-meter radius, the user's base stats increase by 2%.

Cap: The bonus is limited to a maximum of 50% of the user's base stats, regardless of the number of enemies present.]

[Level Disparity Scaling]

[The user gains 0.5% of their base stats for every level of difference between themselves and surrounding enemies, up to a difference of 100 levels.

Cap: This bonus cannot exceed 50% of the user's base stats, even at the highest level disparity.]

Everyone fell silent for a moment after reading the details of the blessing. The stillness hung in the air until, inevitably, the guild's discussions erupted into chaos.

"Damn it! I suddenly feel like killing this stupid asshole," Melliandra muttered.

"That's so gross!" Jovina exclaimed.

"Does that mean your stat points could increase up to 100% if you're swarmed by 50 enemies at once, and one of them has a level difference of 100 compared to you?" Forev asked.

"I think that's exactly how it works," PussyCat replied.

"So basically, you'll still be weak in a one-on-one battle, huh? Figures," Elincia said.

"Still," Goldrich interjected, "we now have a new champion who's going to thrive in large-scale war situations like this."

"Congrats, Booba. You've earned it," Broken said.

"Hahaha, I knew you'd all be jealous of my achievement," Booba said. "I've become an incredible asset to this guild. Whenever there's a massive war, I'll always be the first option as reinforcement."

"Still, you're useless if your base stats are trash," Skywarden shot back.

"No worries! With this blessing, I can farm high-level monsters with ease. Hahaha!" Booba replied confidently.

"Wait until I get my own Divine Champion blessing," RememberMe chimed in.

Goldrich added, "You know, we could turn this into a competition. Whoever secures a Divine Champion blessing next gets a special prize from the guild master, right?"

Broken nodded. "I'll prioritize crafting their equipment when the time comes."

"Then I'll be the next!" RememberMe declared.

"In your dreams," Forev retorted. "Your level is pitiful right now. Maybe it's time you faced reality a bit more."

Jovina spoke up next. "I think after this, the hunt for Divine Champion blessings is going to heat up—thanks to Charmelyn."

"Ugh… why me…" Charmelyn said.

"Surely it's thanks to you for uncovering this secret, haha."

"Indeed! Thanks to Charmelyn, the race for Divine Champion blessings will only get fiercer in the future," Elincia added with a small laugh.

"I feel so guilty…" Charmelyn sighed.

Western Gate.

The group's attention quickly shifted back to the ongoing battle.

At the western gate, Fokil had turned the tide with his devastating damage output against their formidable opponent, King Balam. With a sharp whistle, Fokil hurled his hammer through the air, the weapon spinning like a missile before slamming into the demon's face with a resounding crash.

Enraged, the massive demon roared and lunged forward, swinging his colossal greatsword in a deadly arc toward Fokil. But Fokil was ready. He called his hammer back with a commanding gesture, the weapon spinning furiously before landing securely in his hand.

"You know, fire's practically my best friend—take that!" Fokil said with a cocky grin. Find adventures on empire

The clash was deafening as the greatsword collided with the hammer in a brutal exchange. King Balam let out a thunderous roar, his fiery aura intensifying with each passing second.

Fokil dashed forward with incredible speed and leaped high, floating right in front of the demon's snarling face. As King Balam spewed a torrent of flame, Fokil charged head-on through the blaze and delivered a crushing blow with his hammer directly to the demon's head.

Meanwhile, Optimus seized the opportunity, exploiting weak points in the demon's legs with relentless strikes and precise punches. Each attack caused the demon to stumble slightly, its massive frame struggling to maintain balance.

Ivana joined the fray from behind, smashing her shield into the back of the demon's bull-like head with force. Again and again, she struck from the blind spot while Fokil hammered the front and Optimus pummeled the legs.

Despite his immense size and strength, King Balam grew visibly frustrated. His enemies were too quick, darting in and out of his reach, delivering relentless blows. His inability to land a decisive counterattack only fueled his anger, as the coordinated onslaught steadily wore him down.

Eastern Gate.

On Goldrich's side, the battle was beginning to tilt in their favor. After Jovina summoned Fang, their group managed to push back against Countess Murmur with a series of coordinated strategies designed to force her closer to the ground. Their goal was to clip her aerial advantage and limit her range of movement.

Melliandra rode atop Fang, the summon darting wildly and gracefully across the battlefield. She rained down relentless gunfire at Countess Murmur, laughing maniacally every time one of her shots hit its mark.

Fang, as chaotic as his rider, unleashed devastating bursts of shadow and fire energy, dealing heavy damage to any enemy unfortunate enough to be nearby.

"You're so stupid, Countess! Can't even catch me!" Melliandra shouted, laughing uproariously as she taunted the demoness.

The Countess, in her fury, kept chasing her but was constantly thwarted by Goldrich's attacks and Jovina's summons.

"Jovina, I think I'm in love with Fang! You might as well just hand him over to me."

"You idiot," Jovina snapped back. "Do you think Broken gave Fang to me because I'm just some sniper who sits around shooting from a distance?"

"Ugh, Broken is so annoying. He still hasn't crafted anything for me, even though he promised he would."

Jovina's summons added to the chaos, further distracting and wearing down Countess Murmur.

Beeman relentlessly harassed the demoness, buzzing around her like a living swarm, while the massive tarantula darted across the battlefield with surprising speed. It leaped and scuttled, firing sticky webs and venom at the Countess to pin her down and disrupt her movements.

Above them, the Nightwing—a luminous butterfly summon—provided much-needed support. It flitted gracefully through the air, spreading healing energy and powerful buffs that enhanced the entire group's resilience and attacks.

Under the relentless pressure from all sides, Countess Murmur began to falter, her attacks growing increasingly unfocused as her frustration mounted. The combined strategy was working perfectly, keeping her off balance and unable to retaliate effectively.

[larrythecableguy]: "When Fokil called the hammer back, I heard Thor's theme in my head."

[HDMerdoc]: "The Countess Murmur is out here giving her best boss energy, and everyone's treating it like a warm-up. Rude!"

[Carl_Wright_1591]: "King Balam: 'I am fire incarnate!' Fokil: 'Cool story, bro.' 😂"

[Zefrax_the_reader]: "Every time Jovina's summons attack: 'Jovina used ZOO ATTACK! It's super effective!'"

[Jason_Parker_8550]: "If this guild ever wins the war, it'll be by accident. Calling it now. 😂"

[haifuri]: "Fokil: Hammer go bonk. Optimus: Punches everything. Ivana: Shield bash. King Balam: 'I chose violence, but they chose teamwork.'"

[Dylan_Zielke_2200]: "Imagine being a Named Demon and finding out your biggest threat is someone called Booba. I'd retire immediately."

[Kevin_Uberti]: "Can they hurry up already? Those four Named Demons are like minibosses in a tutorial. The real game hasn't even started yet!"
