Chapter 286 Robbery 4
Ethen's assumptions proved correct. While Azrul and the major factions in Heishui Town were arguing incessantly, a frail man carrying a load of manure quietly left Heishui Town under the cover of darkness.
This man carrying manure was indeed from Kiln Village. After observing everything that Azrul and his men were doing, he felt relieved and reported the situation back to Kiln Village via phone.
Kiln Village responded: the matter was settled, and there was no need to continue monitoring. The manure carrying man was happy to return to his village for a rest, cheerfully carrying the manure he had collected from Heishui Town, humming a tune as he walked eastward.
...
"Master, is it time for the second step?" Azrul inquired.
Upon hearing this, Ethen nodded and said, "After the sun rises today, let everyone have breakfast first, and then continue to make a show of searching for the robbers in Heishui Town. At the same time, report the incident to the authorities, making it as big as possible. This will create the strongest sense of complacency among the people of Kiln Village. As for investigating Kiln Village, leave that to me..."
"Alright, then I will leave it to you, Master," Azrul said gratefully.
"It's nothing; I'm also quite curious about what secrets Kiln Village is hiding."
Ethen waved his hand and walked out of the Ling Family's pharmacy. Then, he deliberately returned to Master Residence to change his clothes before leaving through the back door.
East of Heishui Town, there was a mountain road that was not particularly easy to traverse. Following this road would lead to a river. Not far past the river was Kiln Village. Ethen hurried along, and only when he saw Kiln Village in the distance did he slow his pace.
He first took out a backpack from his storage space and slung it over his shoulders. Then, he picked up a wooden stick from the roadside to use as a walking cane, and slowly made his way toward the entrance of Kiln Village.
At that moment, Ethen resembled a young backpacker who had trekked a long distance and was somewhat fatigued.
As he approached the entrance of Kiln Village, Ethen noticed an open air tea house. An old man was sitting there, sipping tea and reading the newspaper while listening to a radio. The old man seemed to sense Ethen's arrival.
He glanced over and then promptly stood up, enthusiastically calling out, "Walk by, don't miss out! Come in for a cup of tea and rest your feet!"
The old man was clearly the proprietor of the tea house. Upon hearing this, Ethen asked, "Old sir, how far is it from here to Sili Pupu?"
The old man replied with a smile, "This is Kiln Village, which is exactly 20 miles from Heishui Town. Sili Pupu is 40 miles from Heishui Town. So, if you head east for 20 miles, you'll get there."
"Thank you, old sir. How much do you sell your tea for here?"
Ethen nodded and inquired.
"One alliance coin for a pot of tea, with unlimited refills," the old man said.
"Alright, I'll have a pot then," Ethen replied.
With that, he chose a relatively clean seat and sat down, placing his backpack on the stool.
As the old man brewed the tea, he glanced at Ethen and chuckled, "Young man, you look like you're heading on quite a journey. What are you going to Sili Pupu for?"
Ethen answered, "I'm the president of the travel agency at the Base Medical University. I'm planning to organize a hiking trip for my classmates soon, and our destination is Sili Pupu. There's a beautiful waterfall there, so I came to scout the area in advance."
Upon hearing this, the old man brought the brewed tea over to Ethen's table and filled his cup.
"That waterfall is indeed quite impressive. I used to visit it often. Give the tea a try; if it's not strong enough, I can refill it for you," the old man said.
Ethen picked up the tea cup, gently blew on it, and took a sip.
"Not bad, thank you, Grandpa," Ethen smiled.
"Well then, enjoy your tea. Just call me if you need anything. I still have some news to catch up on," the old man replied.
As he spoke, the old man nodded at Ethen and prepared to lie back in his chair to continue listening to the radio. But at that moment, Ethen suddenly called out to the old man.
"Grandpa."
Hearing this, the old man's steps faltered, and he turned his head to look at Ethen.
"What is it? Is there something else?"
The old man asked with a hint of confusion.
However, Ethen did not respond. Instead, he flicked his right hand, sending the teacup in his grasp flying toward the old man's face at an incredible speed. With that flick, Ethen infused it with some energy.
Seeing this, the old man's expression changed drastically. Just as the teacup was about to hit his face, he instinctively reached out and caught the cup.
Not a single drop of water spilled.
"You brat, what do you mean by this?!"
The old man said, somewhat irritated. He couldn't understand why this seemingly kind looking young man would suddenly attack him.
"Hehe, it's nothing much. I just can't fathom why a dignified first level bronze battle pet master would be selling tea here. Old grandpa, in this desolate wilderness, you probably can't earn even 50 alliance coins in a day selling tea, can you?"
Ethen said with a playful smile. Upon hearing this, the old man's expression changed several times, internally cursing his carelessness.
He had just tried to test Ethen with several words and hadn't realized that the other party was also a skilled practitioner.
"What does it have to do with you? I'm old now and enjoy beautiful scenery; isn't it fine for me to open a teahouse here to enjoy the view?"
