Chapter 7: Wayward Sect!
"Right! Just the way the clans wouldn't be willing to spend time cultivating those without their bloodline, sects put a strong basis on their foundation techniques." The man had a helpless look on his face.
"Isn't it just changing the technique? Why are you flustered?" He asked with a puzzled expression.
"You probably haven't had a lot of exposure to the cultivation commonsense right ?" The man asked after hearing Li Tian's questions.
He didn't feel any shame and nodded his head.
It was not a bad thing to gain more information, as for being seen as ignorant, it didn't matter.
"What do you know about foundation establishment realm?" The handsome man asked with a conflicted look.
"Uh! Nothing! I haven't been able to check out my family cultivation records!" He replied with a weary smile.
"Oh! No wonder! Then you shouldn't be too worried, in the sect it wouldn't be a problem for you to get access to such content." Qin Feng replied as he stopped talking.
Clearly he had no interest in continuing to talk. It was useless as he couldn't gain anything from talking with Li Tian that lacked cultivation common sense.
It was a shame the others either had cold, aloof or indifferent faces.
Even though Li Tian had ordinary looks, he was the only person that seemed approachable.
Seeing him close his eyes, Li Tian didn't bother him.
"It seems that having information is the premise of sharing information, but lacking information turns others off." As he thought of this, he was more interested in reaching the Wayward sect to gain access to information.
As everyone was discussing things, it suddenly seemed to have become brighter in the hall. Turning their heads a figure could be seen floating towards them.
It was a woman, with a good shape, but none of them could really see the figure clearly.
"We are arriving at the Wayward Sect. All of you will be admitted as outer sect disciples. If any of you is able to gather enough contribution points and your realm reaches the foundation establishment stage, acquiring chance to own your own courtyard is not a big problem. If you want to become inner disciples, you have to do even more and participate in the inner disciple trial that takes place every two years." The woman spoke with a calm tone.
Everyone could feel that her words were clearly spoken without any bad intent, but the coldness and indifference behind it was not concealed in the slightest.
'What is there to complain? Being selected to enter the Wayward sect is already considered a good start for me. The resources and even knowledge are probably far more than in the clan.'
He had already put behind alot of things, and seemed just like the others looking foward to seeing the appearance of the Wayward sect.
But things didn't go as he had assumed, as a strange magical circle started to take form on the floor of the hall.
The next moment it realeased a bright blue light and they vakished from place.
The next moment, Li Tian, Qin Feng and other seven discovered themselves standing in a massive white hall.
Before them, several counters could be seen with signs, of new registration.
Before they could even relax, another group also appeared in the hall.
Li Tian moved to the empty New Registration counter and before he could speak, he was asked, "Name?"
"Li Tian"
"Age?"
"15!"
"Clan?"
"Li clan!"
"Selection criteria?"
"Prehistoric Ruins!"
"Okay! Head to the counter at the entrance. Receive your identity token and wait outside for guidance." When he turned to look at the source of the sound, he couldn't see anything.
He just picked up the small talisman paper ejected and walked towards the counter mentioned.
"I can't belive the Wayward sect has actually has means to automatically process new disciples?" He thought as he moved foward looking on the talisman.
He could see something like luck written on the talisman. He didn't dwell much on it as he saw more information including his name and even age written clearly.
Without even waiting long he approached and saw instructions.
\Place talisman paper here!/
He followed the instructions and the moment the talisman was placed on the spot at the counter, a strange blue light scanned the talisman.
A while later, a small jade badge with a thin string was released.
Looking at this process, Li Tian was shocked.
"Isn't this the same as bar code scanner from my previous life used in supermarkets?" He was shocked.
His cognition had been refreshed again and again.
"It seems that the Li clan I was living in the past is no different from the wild. Just entering the Wayward sect already tells me that cultivators are not to be looked down on in the slightest."
At this moment, his mentality had taken a 60° turn completely.
He was sure that when it came to knowledge, the people in this world were not to be looked down on.
Perhaps one might look down on the means used in this room, but he saw them as a representation of the nature of technology.
Imagine a world where martial arts and technology have developed side by side. Even Li Tian couldn't help but shudder after thinking about this. What was even more frightening was that the technology might be kept in the hands of those with strong fists.
To put it in a nice way, the Li clan was not strong enough to get their hands on the piece of the pie. In a way, you could indeed blame it only on the Li clan's inability.
From the way things were handled in the Li clan, Li Tian had already developed a sense of how the world was. Even in the Wayward sect, from the words of the woman that led them from the Prehistoric Ruins, everything was dependent on strength.
Talent was a manifestation of strength, but luck also was considered the same. It was probably why the Wayward sect went ahead and allowed all those that had survived in the Ruins to become outer disciples.
Picking up the token that had appeared, he held it within his palm while observing it carefully, the next moment, a stinging sensation spread from his palm.
Before he could react, the colour of the jade token changed from white to purple.
Even though his blood had been extracted, he still couldn't tell how this had been accomplished. It was just the same feeling he had when he put his fingers on the ring from massive skeleton in the Ruins.
Since it reminded him of the moment he pulled the ring from the corpse, he started to look for the ring, but couldn't see it.
"Wait! I clearly remember putting on the ring to carry the cocoon. But it's not on finger." As he was about to lament, he discovered that the jade token that had turned purple actually had a single golden strip on its surface.
"What is this?" He was curious, but no one would be able to answer him.
He focused on the issue of his blood being extracted as he stood there in a daze.
"How does this token succed in extracting blood from my fingers without even my confirmation?" He couldn't get an answer.
But when he heard the sound of someone talking to him, he reacted.
"Huh!" Turning his head, he could see a woman with an indifferent face looking at him coldly. He then realized that he was blocking the counter, he moved backwards.
"Sorry about that!" He said this as he moved away.
It was just that the woman didn't even cast a glance at his direction anymore.
She moved to the counter and proceeded with placing her talisman on the counter.
Li Tian didn't bother her since she didn't want to talk to him. He just walked towards the exit, as he had been guided before he came to the counter to obtain the jade token.
With token in hand, he was officially an outer disciple of the Wayward sect.
He had an identity and this could be considered a new start for him in this world.
As he observed the token closely, he could see that his name was present on the single golden strip. Without tilting the token in a certain way, the name couldn't be seen.
But when tilted in another angle, it changed into a set of numbers. When he looked closely clearly it was four hundred.
He had some guesses what this number represented but couldn't completely be sure at the moment.
After walking outside, he had a shocked expression.
It was not because he saw anything spectacular but because all he could see was clouds.
Turning his head, nothing could be seen, behind him, except for the door he had passed to reach this point.
"No wonder we have to wait outside. At this point we wouldn't be able to tell the direction." As he thought of this, he didn't forget the other group gathered outside.
At least he could still see the ground they were standing on.
In the distance of about two hundred meters, he could see the ground, but after that, the clouds blocked his vision.
"Worthy of being an Overload in this region." He sighed at the abilities of the Wayward sect. He was also relieved as the stronger and capable the sect was, the less likely they would supress him.
