Chapter 7: Gathering
"Well, don't overthink it. Let's go down. The most important thing to do now is to escape, not to waste time thinking about life." Kurumi said as she walked past the pair and headed downstairs.
Takashi Komuro and Rei Miyamoto looked at the zombies on the ground with lingering fear and then quickly chased after Kurumi.
It was much easier to deal with zombies going downstairs than on flat ground. Sometimes, even if a sword strike did not kill them, they would be knocked down the stairs, and their heads would burst!
Compared to the stupid zombies in the original work, these zombies were much more powerful. No matter how good the stainless steel sword was, it could not withstand this many continuous attacks. Fortunately, Kurumi's 1.8 points of strength were enough to allow her to change her attack style.
"Swish - swish --"
Kurumi changed from hacking to stabbing. The tip of the sword instantly penetrated through the zombie's mouth or eye sockets. The enormous kinetic force and the sharp tip of the sword could penetrate through the dead body's head. And when the sword was pulled out, the zombie would fall to the ground.
Kurumi could clearly sense that berserk's strength rising from her body again. She shook her head fiercely and held the wall to calm herself down.
Rei Miyamoto immediately noticed that Kurumi was in a bad state and rushed forward to help her up, "Senior Tokisaki, what's wrong? If you're tired, you can just ask Takashi Komuro to open the way."
Kurumi Tokisaki was now her idol. When Hisashi Igou first talked about Kurumi in front of her, she did not have a good impression of Kurumi. She thought she was just a vixen who seduced boys everywhere because she was beautiful. Otherwise, how could there be so many posts about her on the campus forum? Those boys knelt and licked everywhere. It was disgusting.
Then, Hisashi Igou turned into a zombie on the rooftop and attacked her, it was Kurumi who saved her and led the two of them as they killed their way out. This left Rei Miyamoto deeply attracted to her strength. She was like a valkyrie.
Kurumi waved at her, indicating that she was fine. Then, she continued to walk downstairs. Rei Miyamoto and Takashi Komuro looked at each other and moved close behind Kurumi. At the very least, if something went wrong with Kurumi, they could repel the zombies. Her dizziness just now made the two of them really worried.
The blade spun, and a white light flashed forward. Kurumi killed another zombie. At this time, she had completely calmed down and stopped thinking about the Lord God. She had survived six cycles of reincarnation, let alone a broken version of Lord God!
This floor was where Takashi Komuro's class was located. Kurumi tried hard to recall the original work. This should have been where the main characters gathered. The zombies were everywhere, and when panic occurred, they ran outside. Even if they were bitten, many of them successfully ran to the playground and then turned into zombies to attack others.
Looking out of the window, the scene of a sea of corpses left the two people behind Kurumi shocked. The dead bodies were pale, and their eyes rolled up. Their youthful uniforms were stained with all kinds of dust and blood, and many dead bodies were holding parts of human bodies torn from unknown places. They sat on the ground and began to eat.
Kurumi glanced at the two people standing behind her, realizing that neither of them had a bad reaction aside from a slight change in expression. Is this what it took to be worthy of being a "main character"? If an ordinary person were here, they would have been scared to the point of vomiting by this hellish scene. The imagery in the anime could not be compared with reality.
"Ah!"
The three people heard a sharp female scream. From the sounds of it, it should be in a classroom not too far away. There were still many zombies outside the door. The scream just now attracted the scattered zombies wandering around outside.
Kurumi picked up her knife. She could see zombies constantly being hit by something from afar, causing their heads to explode. It was like someone was shooting a gun, but the power was obviously much weaker.
By the time Kurumi ran to the door, most of the zombies were killed, and she easily killed the remaining zombies near her.
She took a closer look at the zombies on the ground. They were all shot in the head. The holes were obviously not caused by bullets. If it were a gun, being shot from a close distance like this would probably cause the heads of these dead bodies to splatter all over the ground!
Looking around at the room, sure enough, was a nail gun. The person holding the gun was a fat man with glasses and an ordinary appearance. Kurumi remembered that he should be called Kohta Hirano. The one who screamed was Saya Takagi from the same class as Takashi Komuro. She was holding an electric drill in her hand with blood on her face. There was also a zombie on the ground with a hole in its head. It was undoubtedly from the electric drill in her hand.
"What are you looking at?" Saya Takagi roared at Kurumi Tokisaki, who had barged in. "I'm a genius. These are nothing. I won't lose to anyone in battle!"
There was an explanation in the original work. PTSD, post-traumatic stress disorder, was a common psychological phenomenon in life. Its cause was usually something they experienced or witnessed that threatened their life. It would often cause the individual to be extremely afraid.
Kurumi felt a little helpless. She really did not want to be the nanny of these people, but she still walked up and imitated the appearance of Busujima in the anime.
He gently stroked Saya Takagi's hair with her hand, not caring about the blood on her body.
The moment Kurumi touched her body, her tear glands could no longer hold back the tears. With a cry, she threw herself into Kurumi's arms and cried. Kurumi gently patted her back with her hand that was not holding a knife, allowing her to calm down.
On the side, Kohta watched bitterly as the two beauties hugged each other. One of them was his goddess, and the other was the senior sister Tokisaki who made all the boys in the school go crazy for her. Damn it, protecting his goddess was his credit!
Looking at Takashi Komuro and Rei Miyamoto, who did not come through, and then looking at Saya Takagi and Kurumi Tokisaki, who were still hugging each other, he felt the entire world darken. Even the goddess of love had abandoned him.
After crying, Saya Takagi recovered a lot. At least, she could maintain her calm and ran away from Kurumi's arms to wash the blood on her body. "My clothes are so dirty. When I get home, I have to let my mother wash it."
By the time she arrived at her house, she would have already gotten used to the bloodstains on her clothes. After all, there were still many things she had to go through along the way. Kurumi looked around. These people had to grow up. The trial of blood and humanity had just begun.
After washing up, Saya Takagi put on a pair of glasses and looked at Kurumi, who was smiling at her. Her face immediately blushed. She felt a little embarrassed. After all, she had just broken through and thrown herself into someone else's arms.
"Ah, junior sister, do you need to wear glasses?"
When he heard Kurumi's charming voice, Saya Takagi felt a little awkward, "That... I used to use a pair of contact lenses..." She pushed the glasses up her nose and said, "Now I can't use them anymore, so I have to use my backup ones."
Kurumi nodded. Kohta, who was standing next to him, was excited. He shouted in his heart, "Good glasses! Beautiful glasses! As expected, my goddess is the best!"
At this time, Busujima and Shizuka Marikawa, who heard the screams from the infirmary, also arrived here. They nodded to and greeted Takashi Komuro, who was standing at the door.
Busujima looked at the classroom and immediately locked her eyes on Kurumi Tokisaki. Unsurprisingly, she locked onto the stainless steel sword in her hand. People who were familiar with the sword could tell that it was a good sword, but the blood on it proved the story it had experienced.
"Let's go to the staff office next door. There is a TV there that can help us understand the current situation."
Seeing that everyone agreed, Kurumi did not waste time and walked out the door. Busujima narrowed her eyes. She noticed that the stainless steel sword did not move when she walked. There were no muscle lines on her arm, which meant that it was easy for Kurumi to use the sword. (T/N: I have no idea what that's supposed to mean)
"Why didn't I notice this person in school before?" Busujima asked herself in her heart.
