Chapter 26: Philosophy
The blood in the river was getting thicker and thicker as the blood from zombies and fish mixed. Even fishermen who fished all year round would not be able to bear the stench.
On the bridge, everyone gathered together as they got more and more tired.
The others were panting, nursing their arms, which were sore from constantly waving their weapons. Their muscles would definitely be sore for the next couple of days.
The amount of exercise they got today was far too much, especially for Takashi Komuro and Rei Miyamoto, who used all their strength in each attack.
Despite the wind, their clothes had been stained by sweat. The bangs gathered in clumps on their foreheads, dripping with sweat.
Only Kurumi seemed fine. She watched as the rest gathered, one after another. Her initial excitement slowly became boredom, an expressionless look adorning her face.
Her face was pretty regardless of the expression on it. Even though it was one of absolute indifference, it had a different flavor.
The nails in Kohta Hirano's gun had long been emptied out, but the results were undeniable.
When he saw Kurumi hunting zombies, he even laughed at her bored expression, making his fat tremble.
Suddenly felt like his thoughts of escape were a joke. Fortunately, he did not announce them. Otherwise, he would not have the face to look anyone in the eye.
He casually picked up a bumper that fell off a car from the ground. It was thick and long, too large even for his fat hands to grip comfortably. However, he still held his "new weapon" and fought against the zombies.
Relying on the weapon's length, he smashed a zombie in the abdomen and pushed hard towards Takashi Komuro.
The strength hidden in his fat figure was not to be underestimated. He managed to push the zombie hard and made it stagger. Takashi Komuro seized the opportunity and swung his baseball bat again, ruthlessly hitting the zombie on the head!
"Bang!"
Its head exploded like a watermelon.
The two seemed to have reached an indescribable deal as their movements became more and more tacit.
Their eyes met. When they saw the blood on the other party's face, they could not help but laugh out loud, causing Rei Miyamoto to roll her eyes.
If she had not grown up with Takashi Komuro, she would have assumed he was gay.
But thinking of Kohta Hirano X Takashi Komuro, tsk tsk, forget it, it was way too spicy.
No longer thinking about these philosophical questions, she forced herself to focus again and thrust the homemade spear in her hand forward!
The "spearhead" was still sharp, at least when used against zombies who had turned from ordinary humans. It was quite easy to find a softer spot to stab.
For example, the eye socket!
"Chi!"
The spearhead was precisely inserted into the zombie's eye. Although the tip was a little short and could not penetrate through the back of the head to cause a fatal blow, it was enough to stir up the zombie's brain!
As long as it died, the method didn't matter, right?
On Saeko Busujima's side, all was well. With her stainless steel sword around, even if she could not kill all of these zombies by herself, she could still come and go as she pleased.
Her swings seemed ordinary, but if one looked carefully, the angle at which the blade entered the body was deceptively complex. With a single strike, she could lop off two heads.
With good equipment, her true potential blossomed. Her strength rose so sharply, even the bored Kurumi could not help but look at her a few more times.
If it were still the oak blade, no matter how much control she had over her strength, it would have shattered long ago.
It was hard to imagine that, at Saeko Busujima's age, the path of the sword had already been opened to her. With her proficiency in sword arts, all she could do to improve was increase her strength.
If the Main God Space were still around, another sword genius would rise. The environment of this low-level plane restricted her growth!
This was the setting of the main character and his group. Although they did not use any sword arts or concepts in the anime, that was not true here.
Since it was a complete plane and a complete world, their wonderful skill could be displayed in its entirety.
From Saeko Busujima's Sword Dao and the moves she used, Kurumi could detect eight or nine new skills. The next time she used a sword, she would make great strides in her technique.
Even in the Main God Space, all kinds of spells and techniques could be bought, deeply engraving them into your soul. With Reincarnation Points, you could rise like a meteor. But the real big shots, every one of them went through years of accumulation, each one of them absorbing every technique suitable for them.
However, that was not something Kurumi, who was now a noob, had to consider. No matter how powerful those big shots were, they were all killed by a single punch. It was better to stay honest and move forward step by step.
Anyway, Master God was seriously injured, and there was no so-called time limit, so, as long as she completed her mission, she could play a little.
The number of zombies surrounding them decreased until it dwindled to a handful. The bridge was littered with corpses and had long been dyed red with blood.
"Bang!"
After Kurumi crushed the head of the last zombie, the corners of her mouth finally curved up, and she revealed a smile. She seemed to be in a good mood. Raising her head and she looked at everyone. "Finally, it is finished. What should we do next?"
The moonlight fell on Kurumi's body. Half of her delicate face peeked out from her bangs, making the blood that splashed on her face seem particularly strange.
Combined with her morbid smile and countless corpses with burst heads behind her, Takashi Komuro and the others felt a chill run down their spines. They were afraid of Tokisaki blowing their heads off if she was unhappy!
"The road ahead is practically blocked. There must be a lot of zombies behind it. We can go down there and see if there is any way to cross the river." Seeing the silent crowd, Saya Takagi, who had been unable to help, spoke to Kurumi.
She felt very guilty. From the moment the few of them gathered together in school, she had been running. Other than analyzing the weak point of the zombies that anyone could find after some careful observation, she had basically didn't contribute.
Moreover, she had taken the death of the couple at school to heart. Although she was a young lady herself, everyone tried their best to escape. Only she had been protected.
Teacher Marikawa was usually a little silly, but in a critical moment, wasn't it she who had driven the living out of the school?
Even the "fat otaku" that she had always despised had played a role no less than Takashi Komuro.
Rei Miyamoto, her rival in love, was even more useful. In the past, she felt like it was inappropriate for a girl to practice spear arts.
But now, seeing the scene of Takashi Komuro talking to her in a low voice with a smile on his face, Saya Takagi felt profoundly powerless.
Although her father had military power, distant water could not quench an immediate thirst. Perhaps the only advantage she had was her genius brain.
"Okay, then let's go down and take a look. If there is really a way to go over, we won't have to endure the endless harassment of zombies."
Hearing her goddess speak, Kohta Hirano immediately agreed, hoping the goddess could pay more attention to him.
However, noticing no one paying attention to him, he scratched his head awkwardly and laughed dryly.
"We'll listen to Saya. Let's go down and see if there is a way to cross the river." Kurumi looked at the moon above her head as it emitted a soft silver light.
Suddenly, she turned to look at Saya and showed her a bright and beautiful smile, "Do you agree with this idea, little Takagi?"
