Chapter 2: _Aomine's lucky day_
Three years later, the atmosphere was somber as Luin sat on the ground during his grandfather's funeral. Surrounded by friends and family's serene yet heavy presence, he fixed his gaze on a framed picture of his grandfather, a man whose wisdom and warmth had shaped much of Luin's life. The room was adorned with traditional Japanese funeral decor—flowers arranged in delicate patterns and incense wafting through the air.
Luin's head was hung low, and tears rolled down his cheeks. Kuroko and Kagami were sitting beside him, trying to console him.
"Calm down Luin-san, Everything will be fine," Kuroko said while patting his back. Luin took a deep breath, trying to steady himself. The muffled sobs of mourners filled the air, blending with the faint sound of chimes from a nearby temple. He could feel the warmth of Kuroko's hand on his back, a small anchor in the storm of his emotions. Kagami sat on his other side, his brows furrowed in concern, offering his silent presence as support.
"I just... I can't believe he's gone," Luin whispered, his voice cracking. "He was always there for me, guiding me through everything."
Kuroko nodded, his expression calm yet empathetic. "It's okay to feel this way. Grief is a heavy burden, but it's shared by those who care about you."
Kagami shifted slightly, his voice gruff yet gentle. "And you're not alone, Luin. We're here for you, no matter what. Your grandfather wouldn't want you to carry this weight by yourself."
As Luin looked up, he noticed a few of his grandfather's friends sharing fond stories, their laughter punctuating the moment's heaviness. Despite his grief, a small smile tugged at Luin's lips as he recalled the many stories his grandfather had told about adventurers and heroes, each one laced with important lessons.
"Remember the story about the old oak tree in our village?" Luin started, his voice recovering strength. "He would always say it stood firm through the storms, just like the people who loved one another."
Kuroko smiled softly. "He believed in resilience. That's a lesson worth carrying forward."
"I want to make him proud," Luin said, determination igniting in his eyes. "I want to be someone who can face challenges and lift others, and his determination on making me the best basketball player."
Kagami clapped Luin on the shoulder. "Then that's what you'll do. Together, we'll make sure his spirit lives on through us, and don't get ahead of yourself you punk, and don't u dare surpass me" Kagami said playfully making Luin smile a little.
As the ceremony continued, Luin felt a flicker of hope amidst the sorrow. He realized that even in loss, there was a chance to carry on the legacy of love, warmth, and wisdom that his grandfather had instilled in him. Surrounded by friends who understood his pain, he took a moment to honor his grandfather's memory, promising to hold onto the lessons that would guide him forward.
-----------A FEW MONTHS LATER---------
Luin was sitting in a restaurant waiting for Kuroko and Kagami but then the waiter came and asked, "Sir, what would you like to order?". Luin looked at the front door of the restaurant and spoke "I am waiting for someone so can you plz come and ask in about 15 mins?".
"Sure sir" The waiter replied with a polite smile and left after bowing, just like that Luin spend more than 10 minutes waiting for them but there was still no sign of them.
Suddenly the front door went wide open and Aomine and Momoi entered, they were about to walk past him with no idea of Luin being there. Suddenly Aomine's leg slipped and he fell on Luin's table by shattering every decoration piece and the whole water jar shattered and Luin got fully soaked.
"What the hell, Aomine!?" Momoi hurriedly helped him get up and looked at Aomine
