Chapter 38: Next Plans
-----
"This..."
Utatane Koharu and Mitokado Homura hesitated for a moment after hearing the suggestion.
It really did seem inappropriate to continue as they were.
They risked being held accountable by Uzumaki Mito later.
"Why not?"
But Danzo, as stubborn as ever, sneered and said, "What's wrong with making decisions from the perspective of the village's best interests?"
"We already warned the Uzumaki clan, advising them to relocate and join Konoha as a group."
"It was Uzumaki Ashina who refused!"
"So if they're annihilated afterward, how could that be our fault?"
"Besides, there's no way to pinpoint when the other villages will attack!"
"And even if they do, it will only be through small, elite squads conducting surprise assaults;"
"That's bound to be a swift and decisive strike."
"By the time we send a large force for rescue, it'll definitely be too late!"
"Or are you suggesting we station an army near the Land of Whirlpools on constant alert, just in case?"
"Do they really deserve that level of commitment?"
Danzo was clearly unimpressed with the Uzumaki clan's apparent lack of foresight and disregard for the situation.
In his mind, fools who couldn't grasp the bigger picture deserved their fate.
However, those sealing techniques couldn't be allowed to fall into the hands of other villages.
If they did, the jinchūriki of those villages might truly become unstoppable.
"Indeed!"
Homura reluctantly admitted Danzo had a point.
The Uzumaki clan had brought this upon themselves—what else could they do?
They had already done more than enough.
"What about sending a small elite team for support when the time comes?"
At this moment, Hiruzen Sarutobi spoke again, "We can prepare a portion of our elite forces, including members of the Anbu and Root, to stand by and be ready for immediate deployment!"
"I'm sure Mito-sama will also send the remaining Senju elites to help."
"We can coordinate with them!"
"And during the rescue, how much effort we put in will be entirely up to us."
"This way, even if we fail to save the Uzumaki clan, Mito-sama can't blame us!"
"What do you all think?"
After all, the intelligence from their spies and recent reports indicated that the other four major villages were likely to act soon.
Regardless of the outcome, the Uzumaki clan's sealing techniques had to be brought back to Konoha and not fall into enemy hands.
Koharu: "Agreed!"
Homura: "I'm on board!"
Danzo, particularly intrigued upon hearing that Mito might send the remaining Senju elites, had some thoughts forming in his mind.
However, on the surface, he pretended to agree reluctantly, saying, "Fine, let's do it that way!"
"Alright then, it's settled!"

Meanwhile, with Kaito and the others.
Upon returning home, Uchiha Jiri took out the scrolls containing the acquired jutsus and sealing techniques and handed them to Kaito and Mikoto. "Here are the ninjutsu and sealing techniques we got from this deal. Feel free to pick what you want to learn!"
"Got it!"
Kaito smiled as he stepped forward, immediately picking up the Flying Thunder God Technique scroll and skimming through it.
Soon, he frowned slightly. "As expected, this requires a solid foundation in sealing techniques to even begin learning."
"Looks like I'll have to set it aside for now and start with sealing techniques first."
Afterward, he scanned through the Water Style techniques, committing them to memory.
Finally, he unsealed the massive scroll containing advanced sealing techniques and buried himself in reading again.
His plan was to memorize everything first and train later.
"Auntie, can I try too?"
Uchiha Mikoto looked at Jiri in surprise, pointing to herself.
"Of course!"
Jiri smiled warmly. "You've already started calling me Auntie, and you've made a contract with Kaito. Naturally, you won't be left out!"
"Auntie hopes you grow stronger quickly to help Kaito!"
"So study hard! Learn as much as you can!"
"But don't bite off more than you can chew. Start with a few and master them before moving on."
"Thank you, Auntie!"
Mikoto, touched, nodded and picked up the Flying Thunder God Technique scroll.
She quickly put it down, frowning deeply. "This is so hard! It's not something I can handle right now. I'll focus on sealing techniques first!"
As for Water Style?
She didn't have a water affinity, so it wasn't necessary at the moment.
"Go with what feels right for you," Jiri reassured her, taking the Flying Thunder God scroll herself. "Is this technique really that difficult? Let me take a look!"
After a while, she rubbed her temples and set the scroll down. "It's definitely challenging! Tobirama really was a genius to create this."
"In terms of inventing ninjutsu, he was a monster."
Even she had to admit it.
Then, she picked up a Water Style scroll and mused, "Learning Water Style would be useful in the pirate world. It could have surprising effects, especially against Devil Fruit users."
"Huh?"
Mikoto blinked. "Should I learn a few Water Style techniques too?"
"No rush!" Jiri shook her head. "You're still young and lack water affinity. Focus on Fire Style, Lightning Style, and sealing techniques for now."
"Adding Taijutsu, Haki, and Longevity Technique training, your schedule is already packed. Don't overdo it."
"Wait until you've mastered one type of chakra nature transformation and shape manipulation first."
"That makes sense!"
Mikoto nodded in agreement.
"Kaito, what are your plans next?" Jiri asked while studying the Water Style scrolls.
"Me?"
Kaito looked up briefly before continuing to absorb the knowledge of sealing techniques. "First, I'll head to Warship Island (Gunkan) to retrieve the Dragon Bone and craft longevity medicine."
"Then, I plan to visit Cocoyashi Village and Windmill (Fusha) Village to scout some talented kids."
"Finally, I'll go to Frost-Moon (Shimotsuki) Village to apprentice in swordsmanship from the pirate world."
"For all of this, I'll probably need your help with navigation and possibly your company, Mom!"
He laid out his comprehensive plan, knowing his training regimen would include chakra, ninjutsu, taijutsu, body strengthening, and swordsmanship.
Not to mention health training, which he had integrated into his daily post-meal routine to aid digestion, boost vitality, and extend his lifespan.
"It's a good plan. I'll help," Jiri replied with a nod. "I've already mapped out Loguetown as of yesterday, though I forgot to tell you!"
"We can set out from there. Warship Island isn't far, is it?"
"Nope!"
Kaito confirmed, "It's about a day's sail away."
"Though, without a flying mount, mapping is such a hassle. Mom, have you found a suitable flying mount yet?"
A flying companion would make everything faster.
Otherwise, lighting up all these islands on the map would take forever!
