Chapter 7: Chapter 7: The Three Body Techniques
When Kaiton shared his conjecture with Tsunade, she was visibly startled.
"No way, Kaiton! Refining Chakra can cause aging?"
Kaiton wasn't entirely sure, but he had a plan. Tsunade's lineage connected her directly to the Hokage, a famed genius who had invented numerous ninjutsu techniques. Kaiton suggested she ask her second grandfather about this theory. Tsunade quickly agreed. After all, the thought of aging prematurely was terrifying for a girl.
Kaiton silently resolved to refine Chakra in moderation moving forward, opting instead to focus more on enhancing his physical skills.
---
The next day, class began with Tenzou walking in at his usual time. The students stared at him eagerly, their eyes glowing with anticipation. Today was the day ninjutsu training officially began.
Clearing his throat, Tenzou addressed the class.
"Students, I trust many of you tried refining Chakra yesterday. Don't rush the process; it's normal if you haven't sensed it yet. Stay consistent, follow the tips I shared, and you'll succeed in time.
"Once Chakra has been refined, it serves as the medium through which we perform ninjutsu. Using specific hand seals, you channel this energy to release various techniques. Today, we'll focus on the basics—the Three Body Techniques.
"These foundational skills consist of the Body Replacement Technique, Clone Technique, and Transformation Technique. Mastery of these three is required to pass your Genin graduation exam.
"Let me briefly explain them:
1. Body Replacement Technique: This technique allows you to replace your position with a nearby object, often wood. This creates the illusion that the opponent has struck you, diverting their focus.
2. Clone Technique: This technique creates an illusory duplicate of yourself to confuse enemies. Unlike Shadow Clones, these are intangible and dissipate when hit.
3. Transformation Technique: By calling upon Chakra, you can disguise your appearance as someone or something else. However, physical attacks will disrupt the transformation.
"These techniques are essential for all ninjas. Study and practice them diligently."
---
Kaiton absorbed every word, mentally recording Tenzou's explanations. The Clone Technique intrigued him less compared to the more versatile Shadow Clone Technique. But the Transformation Technique caught his interest. Meanwhile, the Body Replacement Technique offered tactical advantages Kaiton knew he could explore creatively.
When Tenzou dismissed the class, allowing the students to practice freely, Kaiton made his way to the training field. Joining Tsunade, Jiraiya, and other classmates, he began working on the Three Body Techniques.
Jiraiya, however, seemed unenthusiastic. He yawned as he leaned against a nearby tree.
"Kaiton, why are you so serious? Most of us haven't even refined Chakra yet. What's the point of practicing techniques we can't even execute?"
Tsunade glared at him.
"Not everyone is as lazy as you, Jiraiya. Kaiton succeeded yesterday! If you don't want to practice, then leave us alone."
"What?!" Jiraiya exclaimed, looking incredulous. "Kaiton, seriously?"
In response, Kaiton smirked and performed a series of hand seals.
"Transformation Technique!"
A puff of smoke engulfed Kaiton. When it cleared, Tenzou stood in his place, tall and imposing, his sharp features stern.
"Jiraiya!" the transformed Kaiton barked, perfectly mimicking Tenzou's voice. "Why aren't you practicing? Get back to class this instant!"
Jiraiya jumped, his face pale with shock. Other students stopped what they were doing, startled by what they thought was their teacher's sudden appearance. Whispers spread as confusion mounted.
Amid the chaos, Tsunade doubled over with laughter, pointing at Jiraiya.
"Ha! Kaiton, you've got them all fooled!"
Realizing it was a prank, the students breathed a collective sigh of relief, though many shot Kaiton looks of awe. The feat he had just performed was no small task. Refining Chakra in a single day and mastering a foundational ninjutsu immediately afterward? Kaiton was undeniably talented.
---
Not far away, three boys sat on a tree branch, observing the scene. Nara Luming, Yamanaka Shiki, and Akamichi watched with mixed expressions.
"Kaiton's something else," Shiki remarked, his voice tinged with admiration. "He picks things up so fast. It's like he was born to do this."
Akimichi, munching on a bag of potato chips, nodded in agreement.
"Yeah, but honestly, his cooking is just as impressive. I ate at his family's barbecue place once—it's amazing! Too bad I can't afford to go every day…"
Luming sighed. "akimichi, you think it's expensive because you eat enough for three people."
---
Elsewhere on the training field, other students were also honing their skills.
Uchiha Jingyan practiced shuriken-throwing with precise, confident movements. After hitting three bullseyes in a row, he turned his attention toward the commotion surrounding Kaiton. A small smirk played on his lips.
"Kaiton... interesting," he murmured.
Meanwhile, Hyugatsu, clad in a white kimono, focused intently on his sparring dummy. His strikes were fast and deliberate, demonstrating a high level of discipline for someone so young. Catching whispers of Kaiton's accomplishment, Hyugatsu's pale eyes gleamed.
"An excellent rival," he muttered to himself.
---
Two hours later, Tenzou returned to the classroom, muttering under his breath.
"Forgot the textbooks again," he sighed. Grabbing the books from the podium, he was about to leave when something caught his eye. Glancing through the window, he noticed the students practicing diligently in the training field.
"Good," he murmured. "They're working hard."
Suddenly, his gaze fixed on a familiar figure performing the Transformation Technique.
"Wait… is that Kaiton?"
Tenzou's eyes widened as realization dawned. Kaiton wasn't just practicing—he had already succeeded. The boy had refined Chakra, mastered a foundational technique, and even had the confidence to joke with his classmates.
A rare smile crossed Tenzou's face.
"Looks like we've got a prodigy on our hands."
