KONOHA :THE RISE OF KAITON

Chapter 17: Chapter 17: Healing Jutsu

Two weeks later.

On an early weekend morning, Kaiton left his home brimming with excitement and anticipation. As he walked through the streets of Konoha, a smile played on his face, and his steps were light. His destination was clear, and upon arrival, he greeted the two guards standing watch at the entrance of the Senju compound.

The guards, accustomed to Kaiton's frequent visits, waved him through without hesitation. As soon as he entered, he heard a loud thwack. Curiosity piqued, Kaiton followed the noise until he reached the training yard, where Kingsu was hard at work.

She was furiously pounding a wooden training post, her punches landing with audible force. Sweat glistened on her brow, and her determined expression was unmistakable. Kaiton watched for a moment, then sighed, shaking his head.

"This is so like her," he muttered.

Kingsu paused mid-strike and turned, noticing Kaiton standing there. She ran over, her face lighting up with excitement.

"Kaiton! Did you come to take me out? There's a new casino in town—I've been dying to check it out!"

Kaiton facepalmed. "Kingsu, I'm going to criticize you for a moment. How can you even think about gambling during training hours? What about all the effort Grandpa Tenzou and the others have put into your growth? And weren't you the one who insisted we keep pushing ourselves—"

Before he could finish, Kingsu clenched her fists, her cheeks puffing out in irritation. Her glare made Kaiton swallow his words.

"Fine, I'll shut up!" Kaiton said quickly, raising his hands in surrender.

"Good," Kingsu huffed. "So, why are you here, then?"

Scratching the back of his head, Kaiton replied sheepishly, "Actually, I'm here to learn the next stage of medical ninjutsu from Grandpa Tenzou."

Kingsu froze. Her face twisted into a comical mixture of shock and indignation. "What?! You've already finished the basics?!"

---

In the living room, Kaiton explained his progress to Tenzou, who sat quietly at the table. Kingsu followed close behind, still pouting.

"You're saying you've completed everything in the scroll?" Tenzou asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Yes, Grandpa. Test me if you don't believe me," Kaiton said confidently.

Tenzou nodded, then began firing off questions.

"Where are the main distributions of the nervous system in the human body?"

"What are the major joints in the body?"

"There's a thorny plant in the Land of Wind known to be highly toxic. If scratched by it, what symptoms appear, and how is the antidote prepared?"

Kaiton answered each question without hesitation. He had memorized every detail from the scrolls and recited his knowledge effortlessly. By the time the questioning ended, Tenzou looked genuinely impressed.

"Remarkable," Tenzou said, patting Kaiton's shoulder. "To think you've mastered the scroll's contents in such a short time—it's truly astounding."

Kingsu groaned loudly. "Ugh, how?! I'm not even a tenth of the way through!"

Kaiton grinned awkwardly. "Well, I've been teaching the other kids as I learn. Preparing lessons forces me to review everything multiple times. I guess it just helps me retain the information better."

Kingsu's eyes widened. "Teaching others... That might work for me too!" She looked at Kaiton with newfound determination.

Kaiton nodded. "It's worth a try. I've finished the scrolls, so I can focus on medical ninjutsu now. Why don't you take over the classes?"

Though hesitant at first, Kingsu agreed. With a little guidance, she could manage, and the experience would benefit her.

---

Later that day, Tenzou took Kaiton into the forest surrounding Konoha. They stopped by a small river, where Tenzou caught a fish. Drawing a kunai, he made a shallow cut on the fish's body.

"Kaiton," Tenzou said, "watch carefully. This is Healing Jutsu, the cornerstone of medical ninjutsu."

A soft green light enveloped Tenzou's hands. As he placed them over the fish's wound, the injury began to close. Within seconds, the fish was fully healed, as if it had never been hurt.

Kaiton watched in awe as Tenzou released the fish back into the water.

"The principle is simple," Tenzou explained. "You convert your chakra into medical chakra and use it to stimulate cell division at the wound site, promoting rapid healing. But mastery requires precision and control."

Kaiton eagerly caught his own fish, mimicking Tenzou's actions. It took several attempts before a faint green glow appeared in his hand. Placing his glowing hand over the wound, Kaiton focused all his chakra into the fish.

Slowly but surely, the wound began to close. However, it took over three minutes to heal halfway.

Tenzou smiled encouragingly. "Not bad for a first try. A skilled medical ninja can do that in under 30 seconds, but you've got potential."

Despite the compliment, Kaiton felt frustrated. He spent the entire morning practicing, but his best time only dropped to two minutes. Exhausted, he headed home, determined to figure out what he was doing wrong.

---

Later that evening, Kaiton sat on his bed, deep in thought.

"I followed Grandpa Tenzou's instructions perfectly, but why am I still so slow?" he muttered. "Is it my chakra? Even with the limits I've placed on refining chakra, I should have enough to perform basic medical ninjutsu..."

After two months of training, Kaiton's chakra reserves had grown significantly, but they were still modest compared to most ninja. Healing Jutsu, however, required a substantial amount of chakra.

"If only I could find a way to extract chakra without harming my body," Kaiton thought aloud. Suddenly, an idea struck him—a risky but potentially revolutionary method of refining chakra.

Excited by the possibility, Kaiton leaped to his feet and dashed out of the house, heading straight for Kingsu's home.

"If this works," Kaiton thought, his heart racing, "not only will I be able to master Healing Jutsu, but I'll finally overcome my chakra limitations. And maybe... just maybe... I'll stand on equal footing with the best ninja in Konoha."

As the moonlight illuminated the streets of Konoha, Kaiton sprinted with renewed determination, ready to turn his vision into reality.
