Chapter 110: 110 Nagawa Bridge
Nagawa River lies on the border between the Land of Hot Water and the Land of Frost.
This massive river serves as the boundary for a small nation caught between these two larger countries.
Calling it a "river" isn't quite right—it's more like a small ocean because of its enormous size.
Spanning this colossal river is the Nagawa Bridge. On one side, the dense forests of the Land of Fire dominate the landscape, while on the other side, the tall rocky formations of the Land of Thunder rise dramatically.
The Nagawa Bridge serves as the primary route for the Land of Thunder to access the Land of Fire.
Without it, Kumo Shinobi Village would struggle to transport supplies, as even Earth Style ninjutsu wouldn't be enough to build a stable bridge quickly over such a vast expanse.
Recognizing its strategic importance, Kumo Shinobi has stationed a formidable force to guard it. A total of fifteen teams are deployed, each led by a skilled Jōnin.
This kind of force is enough to annihilate a small country like the Land of Tea.
Convoys steadily pass over the Nagawa Bridge, delivering supplies to the Kikyo Mountain battlefield.
"I heard a genius has emerged on Konoha's side," one ninja said casually while escorting the supplies.
"Yeah, I think his name is Hanyu Simu..." another replied.
The battle has been raging for three or four months, and among the most unforgettable figures is the Golden Flash of Konoha.
Swift and elusive, his movements are impossible to track. Even Lord Ai, their admired leader, can only manage to restrict him slightly.
The Kumo Shinobi have even been given standing orders to abandon their missions unconditionally if they encounter the Golden Flash.
This shows just how much fear and pressure he instills in them.
"I just hope we don't run into that god of death on the battlefield,"
They prayed silently
Sadly, God doesn't seem to have heard their prayers.
A brilliant flash of light tore through the sky, streaking directly toward the Nagawa Bridge.
It was Simu, his body blazing like a shooting star, skimming over the sea with terrifying speed, his target clear.
"Bakayarou, konoyarou!" a thunderous shouted echoed as the sea suddenly split apart.
From the depths, a gray-brown beast emerged—a colossal monster with menacing tentacles covered in suckers.
It was the Eight-Tails, rising to block Simu's path.
"So Scary," Simu remarked casually, stepping lightly onto one of Eight-Tails' massive tentacles as if it were a mere stepping stone.
He came to a sudden halt, hands still tucked in his pockets, standing calmly on the rippling sea.
"Bakayarou, konoyarou!" the beast bellowed again.
"The surface of the water is my battlefield," Simu said, rubbing his temple as if bored.
"And the only thing waiting for you here... is failure."
"You don't rhyme very well," Simu commented casually, his tone indifferent.
The ninjas, who had been casually chatting moments earlier, stood frozen, their jaws dropping in disbelief.
They had joked about the golden flash showing up, but now it was really here.
"But with Master Killer Bee here, everything will be fine," one of them said, trying to reassure himself.
"I won't let the villagers down!" Killer Bee declared confidently.
Eight-Tails raised its massive arms, creating a raging tsunami that surged toward Simu like a towering wall of destruction.
"That's really scary," Simu muttered habitually, as though it was nothing more than an inconvenience.
With a swift leap, he soared high into the sky.
Both his hands glowed, releasing countless bursts of light that exploded into the torrent below.
The flashes rained down like a storm, tearing through the towering wave with relentless power, splitting the tsunami apart as though it were nothing.
Simu, now a streak of light, weaved effortlessly through the airborne droplets, speeding toward his target without hesitation.
"Dammit! Bakayarou, Konoyarou!" Killer Bee cursed, already prepared for battle.
In an instant, he released the Tailed Beast transformation. The orange Tailed Beast Chakra Cloak enveloped his body as he charged straight toward Simu.
At the same time, another figure crackling with thunder emerged from the water—Fourth Raikage Ai. His cold, piercing eyes locked onto Simu.
"Boy, I've finally caught you," Ai growled, his voice filled with menace.
The two powerful shinobi moved in perfect sync, closing in on Simu from opposite sides.
"Lightning Style: Double Lariat!" they roared in unison.
The combined force of their attack, like twin blades of lightning, targeted Simu's throat with devastating precision.
The sheer power tore through him, and his neck was obliterated in an instant.
Simu's severed head flew into the air, his expression frozen in shock.
"Victory!"
"See that? So what if he's Konoha's Golden Flash? Our Kumo Shinobi's AB combo is unstoppable!" The Kumo Shinobi around the bridge cheered in anticipation, their confidence soaring.
Killer Bee wore a smug grin, clearly proud of their flawless execution.
But Ai's instincts screamed at him—something was off.
The "blood" gushing from Simu's severed neck wasn't blood at all. It shimmered and scattered like countless points of light.
"The AB combo is so scary!" Simu said, his tone still mocking as his head reformed seamlessly, glowing with energy.
A wave of dread swept through Ai and Killer Bee, their senses overwhelmed by the looming threat of death.
"Careful!" Ai roared in warning.
But it was already too late.
Simu turned toward Killer Bee with a twisted, wicked grin. Without warning, he opened his mouth, and a golden longsword materialized instantly in his hand, ready to strike.
In order to ensure that this blow has a large enough result, Simu even turned on Sage Mode in advance.
The move itself was inspired by none other than Orochimaru.
The lightsaber's speed was blinding, and Killer Bee, confident in his earlier success, couldn't react in time.
Before he could even register the attack, the blade pierced through the air and struck his chest.
Killer Bee's body instantly dissipated into smoke, leaving behind a massive octopus tentacle in his place.
The enormous suction cups on the tentacle looked horrifying, a reminder of the huge power of the Eight Tails.
"Using one of the Eight Tails' tentacles to save your life? That's impressive," Simu muttered to himself.
Being a Jinchūriki truly had its advantages—like having an extra brain in the heat of battle.
To harness the full power of a tailed beast, one must become a perfect Jinchūriki—otherwise, the tailed beast can be more of a burden than a blessing.
Suddenly, a deafening roar echoed through the battlefield.
Killer Bee shifted back into Eight Tails' full-body mode, letting out a wild growl aimed directly at Simu.
The resulting shockwave crashed into Simu, who used the momentum to put some distance between himself and the AB combo.
The enormous tails of the Eight Tails floated ominously on the water.
But now, there were only seven tails left.
"Bakayarou, Konoyaro!" Killer Bee muttered sheepishly, "Sorry, Hachi."
"Don't apologize," Eight Tails replied firmly, its eyes locked on Simu.
"This guy is no ordinary opponent."
Simu, standing calmly with his hands in his pockets, raised an eyebrow and remarked with mild surprise:
"I didn't expect you to abandon the Kikyo Mountain battlefield just to ambush me here," Simu said with a faint smirk.
The presence of the AB combo here meant that Kumo Shinobi's Kikyo Mountain base camp now lacked a strong enough commander. This shift could give Jiraiya's forces the upper hand with a decisive counterattack.
Electric arcs crackled and danced across Ai's body as he stepped forward.
"Compared to the Kikyo Mountain battlefield, eliminating you is far more critical," Ai replied firmly.
Simu quickly noticed the subtle positioning of the fifteen Kumo Shinobi squads around him. The AB combo had subtly coordinated a faint encirclement.
"I'm truly honored," Simu said with a mocking grin. "I didn't realize I held such a significant place in Master Ai's heart."
Ai's expression tightened as a wave of irritation surged within him at Simu's unshakable confidence.
"Bi, I'll hold him off. Wait for the right moment," Ai instructed.
"Got it," Killer Bee replied, the chakra cloak of Eight Tails enveloping his form.
Then Ai's golden hair stood up one by one in an instant.
A massive surge of Lightning Style Chakra erupted from Ai, making him resemble a raging thunder beast. His entire body radiated power, crackling like a living storm.
"If you're using the power of the Tailed Beast, then I won't hold back," Simu said with a grin, pressing one hand against the water's surface.
A summoning circle spread across the water, and with a puff of smoke, a figure emerged. Two-Tails, shrouded in faint blue flames, appeared on the battlefield.
"It's you again, Eight Tails," Matatabi said coldly, her sharp gaze locking onto her old rival.
But then she paused, quickly realizing something felt off.
"Wait, is this... water beneath my feet?" she murmured, startled.
"Meow?"
The faint blue flames that surrounded Matatabi instantly evaporated the water around her, creating a thick white mist that floated above the surface.
Being a creature of Chakra, standing on water wasn't a problem for Two-Tails, but the sudden realization caught her off guard.
Simu scratched his head casually, chuckling. "Didn't mean to surprise you, but I had to bring in some backup."
"Sorry about that, I kind of forgot."
Two-Tails really wanted to say something, but didn't dare.
Simu smiled and pushed up his glasses.
"Eight Tails is up to you." Two-Tails narrowed his eyes slightly.
"Well, hurry up.
"no problem."
Watch Two-Tails and Simu plot loudly here.
Ai finally couldn't take it anymore.
The Lightning Style Chakra at the foot explodes.
Form a strong thrust, directly blasting the water surface.
In an instant, Ai appeared right in front of Simu.
However, Simu is no less than Ai in terms of strength or speed.
Simu's speed and strength slightly surpassed Ai's, making it easier to handle the situation.
Meanwhile, on Two-Tails' side, Eight Tails proved to be a serious fight.
As the second strongest tailed beast, Eight Tails had the advantage. Two-Tails could only dodge Eight Tails' massive tentacles, relying on its speed to evade the strikes.
Simu swung his sword at Ai before vanishing in a flash of light and dashing into the distance.
"Two-Tails, retreat!" Simu called.
For a moment, Two-Tails hesitated, then quickly realized Ai and Eight Tails were closing in.
"Damn..." Two-Tails muttered, quickly retreating towards Simu.
But the AB combination wasn't about to miss this opportunity. Without hesitation, Eight Tails dove into the water, pursuing them.
"Brother, hurry up!" Ai called, standing on Eight Tails' head.
The two quickly pursued Simu, with Eight Tails' speed in the water giving them an advantage.
Simu and Two-Tails sped off into the sea, but Kumo Shinobi watched with a sense of unease, their expressions filled with concern.
Not long ago, they had feared the tailed beasts. But now, the true strength was in learning to control them, turning the beasts into a powerful ally.
"Don't worry," one Kumo Shinobi said, trying to reassure the others. "With Lord Ai here, we have nothing to fear from the Golden Flash."
Simu's escape gave the Kumo Shinobi a sense of confidence. If he could flee, it meant they had a chance.
Suddenly, one of them spoke up, his voice filled with worry. "Wait, something seems off under the Nagawa River!" He had been focused on the battle between Simu and the AB combo but now noticed something strange about the water.
"What?" the others tensed, turning their attention to the river.
A massive black shadow had emerged from the depths, silently moving beneath the water. It was attached to the stone pier of the bridge.
"This is... a golden flash Summoning beast?"
The shadow emerging from the water was none other than Katsuyu Rishi.
Katsuyu Sage spat out a large amount of acidic liquid into the water, immediately corroding a large section of the stone pier.
It then split into more than a dozen smaller beings, each corroding another pier at the same time! The entire bridge was in danger of collapsing.
The Kumo Shinobi finally realized what was happening. Simu hadn't been careless when he summoned Two-Tails onto the water.
He had done it to cover the presence of another Summoning beast! But the real question was, how did he have such an overwhelming amount of Chakra?
After summoning two massive tail beasts, Simu could still continue to fight the AB combo.
But that wasn't the main concern at the moment. They had to figure out how to deal with this terrifying creature.
The Kumo Shinobi stationed on the shore quickly launched large numbers of arcing kunai toward the threat.
The power of the kunai was almost useless after being weakened by the water's surface. Moreover, Katsuyu, being a mollusk, was not affected by the kunai at all.
A strong sour smell filled the air as sizzling sounds echoed through the area. Bubbles formed on the bridge's piers as they were rapidly corroded.
Realizing the threat, several Kumo Shinobi Jōnin jumped into the water. Lightning crackled on their palms.
"Stop it, you bastard!" one of them shouted.
"Lightning Style: Big Thunder Lake!"
"Lightning Style: Thunder!"
"Lightning Style: Thunder Arrow!"
Massive bolts of Lightning Style jutsu slammed into the water.
Using the water's flow to conduct electricity, the Lightning Style finally started to affect Sage Katsuyu. A black shadow rose from the water.
Sage Katsuyu, now surrounded by electric light, quickly launched an acid attack, forcing the Kumo Shinobi to dodge and buying time. Meanwhile, its other body continued to rapidly corrode the bridge.
Ai, who was about to pursue Simu into the sea, suddenly realized something.
"Wait... it's a diversion!" he exclaimed. He quickly looked toward Nagawa Bridge and ordered Eight Tails to swim back in haste.
Meanwhile, Simu sat cross-legged on top of Two-Tails' head. Somehow, he had found a handful of melon seeds. He casually knocked them on his front teeth, enjoying the sweet and plump seeds as they fell into the water.
"It should be about the same," Simu muttered as he looked toward the direction the AB group had gone.
The AB combination had only traveled halfway when they suddenly felt a massive impact from a distance.
"The Nagawa Bridge is down!"
The piers of the massive steel bridge had been corroded, and the entire structure collapsed. As the heavy bridge hit the water, violent waves surged.
The Kumo Shinobi Jōnin who were present could only watch in shock. Meanwhile, Sage Katsuyu had already lifted the Summoning and fled.
Given its massive size, it wasn't a big deal if a few clones got left behind.
"This damn guy!" Ai shouted, punching the water waves with all his strength, shattering them into pieces.
