Chapter 22: Chapter 22 The Teacher Came After Hitting The Apprentice
"You! You were hiding your strength before!" Xiao Li exclaimed, anger and frustration evident in his voice.
"Are you doing this on purpose to humiliate me?" he accused Sasuke.
Sasuke, who had just defeated Xiao Li in their sparring match, denied the accusation. "No! I didn't hide my strength," he replied calmly.
Xiao Li found it hard to believe. "Impossible! How could you have such a dramatic improvement in such a short period of time? Even my Leaf Hurricane... all..." he trailed off, dusting himself off.
Meanwhile, Sasuke glanced at the system, noticing that his skill level in the Basic Physical Art had risen yet again. The fight with Lee had propelled his progress, reinforcing the idea that real combat was the key to advancing physical skills.
"I can understand why you find it hard to believe," Sasuke responded. "But if you just take a moment to observe and reflect, you can learn as well."
Xiao Li's frustration grew. "Are you saying that you can simply learn my physical skills by watching them?"
Sasuke nodded confidently. "Basically, yes."
Xiao Li scoffed, "Hmph! Even a genius would never be able to do such a thing!"
Sasuke looked at Neji, a fellow genius, and remarked, "Then maybe the geniuses you've encountered weren't strong enough."
This exchange only fueled Xiao Li's anger, and he launched another ferocious attack. However, Sasuke effortlessly countered and overpowered him, further demonstrating his superior physical skills.
Xiao Li was left dumbfounded. "How is this possible?" he muttered in disbelief.
Tian Tian and Neji, who had been observing the fight, were equally astonished. The boy who had barely been able to hold his ground against Xiao Li had rapidly surpassed him within half an hour.
Neji clenched his fists in frustration. "This guy's movements are even faster now, and his attacks carry the same essence as Xiao Li's physical skills," he remarked, awestruck. "Did he really learn Xiao Li's techniques so quickly during the battle?"
Tian Tian shook his head, unable to comprehend the situation. "Impossible! Even you, Neji, wouldn't be able to achieve such a feat in battle."
Neji nodded in agreement. "You're right... I couldn't."
Unbeknownst to them, hidden in the shadows, Guy was witnessing the incredible transformation unfolding before him. As a master of physical arts, he could truly appreciate the magnitude of Sasuke's progress.
"This kid's physical talent is beyond anything I've ever seen," Guy marveled silently. The rate at which Sasuke improved his physical skills during the fight was unparalleled.
In the midst of the battle, Sasuke's joy was evident. Every passing second made him stronger, and he assimilated Xiao Li's skills with astonishing speed. His face beamed with excitement.
Meanwhile, Xiao Li's confidence wavered. He began to question the value of his hard work and dedication. If his opponent could surpass him so easily, what was the point of his efforts?
"Did you just give up like this?" Sasuke asked, sensing Xiao Li's internal struggle.
Xiao Li, lost in his thoughts, murmured, "Could it be that hard work... is really inferior to talent?"
At that moment, a voice interrupted their thoughts. It was Might Guy, who had been silently observing the battle. "Stop, Lee!" he commanded. "Lifting the weights is not a solution."
Xiao Li looked torn, trying to explain his reasoning, but Guy cut him off. "Is the outcome of this duel so important?" he asked sternly.
Xiao Li fell silent, unable to
answer.
Sensing Xiao Li's frustration, Guy turned to Sasuke. "Genin of the Uchiha, please leave," he said, dismissing Sasuke from the fight.
However, Sasuke, fueled by his newfound physical prowess, couldn't back down. He challenged Guy, eager to test his skills against a Jōnin.
Neji's anger flared at Sasuke's audacity. "Bastard! Who do you think you are? What qualifications do you have to challenge our teacher?" he exclaimed, stepping forward.
Guy raised his hand to stop Neji. He looked at Sasuke, his eyes serious. "A Genin with the courage to challenge me, a Jōnin. Your victory over my student doesn't mean my disciple is inferior to you," he declared.
Undeterred, Sasuke goaded Guy further. "Too much talk. Are you ready to fight, Jōnin Might Guy?"
Guy felt a mix of annoyance and curiosity. This young Uchiha had awakened his Sharingan, a powerful Blood Inheritance Boundary. Guy wondered how such a talented individual hadn't used it during his battle with Lee.
As Guy contemplated Sasuke's request, his mind raced with thoughts of the young prodigy's potential. He knew that fighting against Sasuke would further enhance his own physical skills, but more importantly, it would provide an opportunity to motivate Xiao Li.
"Very well, I accept your challenge," Guy said, his voice filled with determination. "But remember, physical skills are not solely dependent on talent. It requires time and dedication to refine them. Talent is merely a small part."
Sasuke understood Guy's intention. Even if Guy didn't want to fight him seriously, the experience alone would propel his physical skills to greater heights.
Closing his eyes momentarily, Sasuke swiftly reopened them, revealing his two tomoe Sharingan. The sight stunned Guy, who had underestimated Sasuke's true potential.
"This kid... he possesses Uchiha's Blood Inheritance Boundary and wields a Sharingan with two tomoe," Guy thought, astonished. "And he didn't use it at all in his previous fight with Lee. Truly, he is a monster..."
As the anticipation built, Sasuke and Guy stood face to face, ready to engage in a battle that would push their physical skills to their limits. Little did they know that this clash would not only test their abilities but also inspire Xiao Li to rediscover his determination and reignite his pursuit of excellence.
