Chapter 12: Chapter 12 Hatake 50-50 Wants To Kill Me?
"Alright! Since you know how to conceal information about yourself, you possess the vigilance of a competent ninja!" Kakashi contemplated the situation. If Sasuke is already this cautious about revealing his abilities, then it's understandable that he has kept his powerful Lightning Style a secret all these years.
"Okay, let's change positions!" Kakashi announced, causing Naruto to feel a bit frustrated by Sasuke's silence. "Where are we going?" Naruto questioned.
"We're going to test you next," Kakashi replied. "Do you think that passing the graduation exam makes you a true ninja? If you fail this test, you'll be sent back to the ninja school for further study."
Kakashi glanced at Naruto, who appeared surprised, and at Sasuke, who remained calm. Sakura, on the other hand, seemed completely absorbed in staring at Sasuke. These three individuals have distinct personalities, and if things continue like this, Kakashi isn't very optimistic about their performance in the upcoming test.
They arrived at an open flat land in a remote area near Konoha Village, with a forest nearby and a clear stream in front. Kakashi took out a pair of bells and tied them around his waist. The bell-grabbing exercise is designed to assess the team's ability to cooperate, but since the recently graduated Genin are not familiar with each other, it's unlikely they will understand the concept of cooperation.
The objective of the test is not to grab the bell but to guide the Genin and establish authority. Kakashi wants them to realize the importance of teamwork. He emphasized that when performing missions, individual strength is limited, and completing tasks requires collaboration with teammates.
"Your task is to grab the bell. If you fail, you'll return to the ninja school," Kakashi explained. "However, there are only two bells, which means at least one of you will be eliminated."
He initiated a countdown, giving them one minute to hide. Sasuke and Sakura quickly vanished, while Naruto remained in place, thinking they were going to engage in a duel. Kakashi couldn't help but twitch his mouth, questioning Naruto's decision to face a Jōnin head-on.
Naruto's use of Shadow Clone Jutsu was impressive, and Sakura, hiding in the bushes, was momentarily stunned by his mastery of such a powerful technique. However, the result was the same as in the original story. Naruto's attempt was thwarted by Kakashi's Thousand Years of Death technique, leaving a lasting impact on Naruto's pride.
Meanwhile, Sasuke, lost in thought, was suddenly brought back to reality as Kunai whizzed past his face and lodged into a large tree behind him. He realized Kakashi had thrown three Kunai directly at him. The speed and force behind the attack were extraordinary.
Sasuke's mind raced as he processed the situation. Those Kunai were thrown with the intent to kill him. Was Kakashi really planning to take his life? Kakashi appeared unfazed by the intensity of the attack, which exceeded the capabilities of an average Genin. Sasuke's calm demeanor prevented Kakashi from discerning his intentions.
Unsettled by the sudden turn of events, Sasuke confronted Kakashi, questioning his lack of action. However, instead of witnessing Kakashi's usual playfulness, Sasuke watched as Kakashi reached for his ninja bag, retrieving six Kunai and three shurikens. In an instant, they were sent flying through the air, their speed leaving Naruto and Sakura bewildered.
Sasuke swiftly blocked all eighteen projectiles, displaying incredible skill and reaction time. Naruto, still hanging from a tree, couldn't believe his eyes. Sasuke had reacted to Kakashi's attack, even though Naruto himself had failed to perceive it
. Sakura, hidden in the bushes, admired Sasuke's mastery of Kunai throwing.
Kakashi was also taken aback by Sasuke's proficiency. His plan was to use the Kunai as a means to force Sasuke to reveal his speed and eventually unleash his Lightning Style technique. However, he hadn't anticipated Sasuke reaching his level of Kunai proficiency.
Sasuke didn't stop there. Ignoring Naruto's plea for help, he grabbed a Kunai from his bag and swiftly rushed towards Kakashi. Sasuke was determined to fight back and find a way to escape if Kakashi truly intended to kill him.
The tension was palpable as the confrontation unfolded. Sasuke's actions deviated from the original story, and Kakashi was left puzzled by the unexpected turn of events. The question of whether Kakashi truly intended to harm Sasuke remained unanswered, leaving the outcome uncertain.
