Chapter 223: Chapter 223: A Birthday, a Rebel Student, and the Spring Autumn Cicada
Hokage's Office.
Shinho sat at his desk, reviewing a document.
Behind him, Ichikishima-hime floated midair. Her delicate hands massaged his back as her sandaled feet hovered inches above the ground.
"What time is it, Ichikishima-hime?" Shinho asked casually.
"It's already five in the afternoon, Master," Ichikishima-hime replied crisply.
"Time to clock out, then," Shinho said, standing up and stretching.
Since returning from Otogakure, he hadn't rested once and had to dive straight into work.
No wonder Tsunade was so eager to retire.
Ichikishima-hime stopped massaging and gracefully lowered herself to the ground, standing respectfully by his side.
Shinho glanced at her, his gaze lingering. Her skin was paler than snow, reminding him again that she wasn't human.
Shizune wears black stockings. I should get Ichikishima-hime white ones. White stockings on her would be perfect. Surely, it'll boost my productivity.
"From now on, stay in my sleeve after work," Shinho said, rolling up his sleeve to inspect the space. "Will you fall out?"
"No," Ichikishima-hime replied, shaking her head.
With a clap of her hands, she transformed into a tiny five-centimetre-long blue crystal snake and zipped into his sleeve, attaching herself neatly at the cuff.
From a glance, she looked like part of the sleeve's design.
Satisfied, Shinho nodded. Just then, a knock came at the door.
"Come in," Shinho said, returning to his seat.
The door opened, and a fragrant breeze swept in.
Shinho looked up to see Anko standing there, slightly out of breath. Her chest heaved with each breath, accentuated by the mesh underlay of her outfit.
"Lord Hokage!" Anko exclaimed, her tone urgent. "Where… where is Orochimaru?"
I knew it would be about him, Shinho thought with a smile.
"Don't pe impatient. Calm down first."
At his words, Anko took a deep breath and patted her chest.
Once composed, she listened as Shinho explained, "I've captured Orochimaru and brought him back to Konoha. For now, he's cooperating with us."
"What do you intend to do with him?" Anko asked, biting her lip.
"What were you planning to do when you see him?" Shinho asked in return.
"I want to ask him some questions," Anko said, her tone bitter as she gritted her teeth.
Shinho wasn't surprised. Anko's memories had been sealed, leaving her with a lingering belief that Orochimaru had abandoned her.
"Alright, you can go find Shizune," Shinho said after a bit of thought.
"Thank you, Lord Hokage!" Anko turned and ran out of the office.
Shinho tidied his desk and left the Hokage Tower.
As he walked through the village, he received a variety of gazes and most were filled with admiration.
Shizune had wasted no time spreading the news of Orochimaru's capture, and within half a day, all of Konoha knew.
For the average villager, the previous threat of Moryo had been vague, it was a mysterious entity with little context to justify its threat.
But Orochimaru was different. As a former student of the Third Hokage and one of the legendary Sannin, he was a household name. Moreover, he had killed the Third Hokage just three years ago.
To learn that someone as infamous as Orochimaru had been subdued by the new Hokage left everyone shocked and awed. Shinho's reputation solidified, silencing any doubts about his leadership.
Even among the great clans, this development reaffirmed his power further.
Subduing Moryo alone was enough to shake them as they somewhat knew of its powers comparable to a tailed beast. And the incident with Orochimaru was enough to drive the nail further.
The Sarutobi clan, in particular, abandoned any lingering dissent, at least as long as Shinho remained the Hokage.
…
Senju Clan's Former Residence.
"I'm home!" Shinho announced as he stepped inside, removing his shoes and entering the living room.
"Welcome Home," Tsunade said, seated on the couch with her legs crossed. Her chin rested on her hand as she reclined against the armrest. Her sleeveless top was slightly wrinkled, and the open neckline revealed her ample cleavage. Her slender waist supported her curvaceous figure.
"Quit staring, you brat!" Tsunade chided, rolling her warm brown eyes at him. Despite her words, there was a hint of warmth in her tone.
"I wasn't staring," Shinho said, walking over to her. "I was appreciating."
"Tch, useless flattery won't get you anywhere, brat!" Tsunade scoffed, though her lips twitched into a small smile.
"It's not flattery if it's true, You're just too beautiful not to admire," Shinho replied, taking her hand and intertwining their fingers.
"You always know what to say," Tsunade said with a laugh, her radiant smile making her happiness unmistakable.
"Does that mean I get a reward?" Shinho asked, seizing the opportunity.
Tsunade suddenly flipped herself onto his lap, her fingers tracing his face. "I really… lost to you, little rascal."
Leaning in, she pressed her warm lips against his. Her scent was intoxicating, and Shinho instinctively wrapped his arms around her, holding her close.
As her weight settled against him, he became acutely aware of her softness and warmth.
"You're thinking about something inappropriate," Tsunade said, pulling back slightly, her face flushed and her heartbeat quickened. There was a rare hint of confusion in her gaze.
Shinho cleared his throat awkwardly. Who wouldn't react in this situation?
"Now's not the time, though…" Tsunade said softly, biting her lip. "Shizune will be back any moment."
Shinho froze. Is this… progress? He hadn't expected Tsunade to be this receptive.
At this rate, he felt it wouldn't be long before their relationship advanced further.
Noticing his intense gaze, Tsunade shivered slightly and quickly retreated to her room.
Despite her age, she found herself uncharacteristically nervous and needed time to collect her thoughts.
"Master, do you need my assistance?" Ichikishima-hime asked from his sleeve.
"That won't be necessary," Shinho replied hastily.
In her snake form, that kind of help was absolutely out of the question. I'm not Xu Xian.
[tl/n: Xu Xian is the main character of a Chinese folktale, called Legend of the White snake.]
Ichikishima-hime fell silent, sensing his rejection.
At that moment, the front door opened.
Shinho turned to see a pair of long, stocking-clad legs step inside.
"Welcome home, Shizune-nee," Shinho greeted with a wave.
"Is Lady Tsunade not back yet?" Shizune asked, looking around curiously.
"She's resting in her room," Shinho said, casually licking his lips. Her scent still lingers.
"Anko went to see Orochimaru," Shizune reported as she stopped nearby.
"She mentioned it earlier," Shinho replied, raising an eyebrow. "Why bring it up? Did something happen?"
"No, they didn't fight," Shizune said, shaking her head. "But Anko requested a mission to investigate one of Orochimaru's old laboratories on Oni Island in the Land of the Sea."
The mention jogged Shinho's memory. Anko's sealed memories included fragments about Oni Island, where she had visited with Orochimaru at age twelve.
The laboratory there had been run by a man named Amachi, whose experiments aimed to create amphibious ninja by fusing human and animal traits.
Amachi had succeeded in producing creatures like Isabiri, a girl with fish-like features, including gills and fins. Though Orochimaru had abandoned the project, Amachi had continued the experiments, eventually transforming himself into a powerful, Fish-man Hybrid form.
"Send Team 8," Shinho decided after a moment's thought.
With Hinata Hyuga and Shino Aburame on the team, they would be more than capable of handling Amachi, who at best be at Jonin level strength after transforming.
There was no need for him to personally intervene this time.
"I'll inform them tomorrow," Shizune said with a nod before heading to the kitchen.
…
At dinner, Tsunade emerged from her room, her usual demeanor restored, showing no signs of earlier embarrassment.
After dinner, Shinho spent two hours cultivating before opening his eyes.
"Master," Ichikishima-hime said softly, crouched beside him like a small cat.
"What do you usually eat?" Shinho asked, realizing she hadn't had a meal yet.
"Blood," Ichikishima-hime replied, her long tongue flicking out to circle her lips as she looked at him.
She's really eyeing me like a snack, Shinho thought.
"Do you eat chicken, beef, or duck?" he asked.
"Yes!" Ichikishima-hime nodded enthusiastically.
"How much can you eat?" Shinho asked.
"A lot!" she replied, spreading her hands wide.
"Let's go," Shinho said, standing up.
He originally wanted to take her to the kitchen and give he a quick snack, but it didn't seem kike she would be satisfied with what was in the kitchen.
"Thank you, Master!" Ichikishima-hime beamed.
…
They went to a yakiniku restaurant, which was still open late at night.
To avoid drawing attention, Shinho reserved a private room.
The aroma of grilling meat filled the air as Ichikishima-hime sat impatiently, her sharp teeth occasionally peeking out as she drooled.
"Put away your fangs," Shinho said, noticing her eagerness.
"Sorry, Master," Ichikishima-hime said, retracting her fangs. Despite this, her hunger was evident as she squirmed and stared intently at the sizzling meat.
Shinho placed a piece of grilled meat in her bowl, and she quickly slurped it up with her tongue, swallowing it whole.
"…You're not even trying to chew?" Shinho muttered, watching her transform from an elegant young girl to a voracious predator.
"It's delicious, Master!" Ichikishima-hime said with a wide smile.
"Um." Shinho nodded.
Two hours later, Ichikishima-hime finally declared herself full, her belly slightly rounded before it quickly returned to normal. Shinho sighed in relief, exhausted from grilling for so long.
He had been grilling non-stop for the last two hours. Surely, her appetite was more outrageous than Hinata's.
"Let's head back," he said with a yawn.
…
The next morning, Shinho woke groggily and went to wash up.
While brushing his teeth, he noticed Tsunade's footsteps approaching the doorway.
"Good morning, Sensei," Shinho greeted casually.
"Morning," Tsunade replied, leaning against the doorframe.
"Your birthday's in a couple of days. What do you want?" Shinho asked, putting down his toothbrush.
"Money," Tsunade said, holding out her hand.
"Money again?" Shinho sighed. "Don't you ever want something else?"
"I don't lack anything else," Tsunade replied, moving past him to wash up.
"As expected of you, Sensei," Shinho said, admiring her figure as she leaned over the sink.
Her curves were accentuated as she bent slightly.
Tsunade noticed his gaze and quickly finished brushing her teeth, turning to glare at him. "Pervert."
"What nonsense?" Shinho said innocently. "I'm just waiting to have breakfast with you."
"Like I'd believe that," Tsunade said, stepping on his foot lightly before walking away.
Her, soles were a little cold, but still soft.
Shinho followed her.
…
After breakfast, Tsunade lounged lazily on the couch. Shinho approached her as he calculated how much time he had before Shizune finished the dishes.
"Shouldn't you be at work?" Tsunade asked, glancing at him.
"I don't feel like working," Shinho replied, his gaze drifting to her lips.
"Come here," Tsunade said, frowning.
As he leaned closer, she bit his lip lightly before he pulled her into a deeper kiss. Their exchange grew more intense until they parted, breathless.
"You really are a pervert," Tsunade muttered, her face flushed as she gasped.
"Thank you, Sensei," Shinho said with a grin. "I'm off to work!"
As Shizune emerged from the kitchen, Tsunade averted her gaze, exhaling quietly once they left.
Tsunade lay on the couch, a soft smile gracing her lips.
"That brat is getting bolder," she muttered to herself.
In truth, she enjoyed these moments.
Their relationship, carefully cultivated over more than a decade, had naturally reached this stage.
Tsunade watched the television absentmindedly.
She was wondering when Shinho's feelings for her had begun.
But thinking back, it seemed there had always been something between them.
…
At the Hokage's office, Shizune organized files before leaving to notify Anko Mitarashi and Team 8 about their upcoming mission.
Meanwhile, Ichikishima-hime emerged from Shinho's sleeve and transformed into her human form, appearing as a blue-haired girl.
"I'll give you a new hairstyle," Shinho said, noticing her appearance and raising an eyebrow.
"Yes, Master," Ichikishima-hime replied eagerly, stepping forward.
Her original hairstyle was neat, with her hair tied into two buns atop her head.
Shinho removed her golden crown and let her long blue hair fall over her shoulders. After some thought, he styled her hair into a long, flowing look like the long haired Rem from his past life's memories.
"Not bad. Let's keep it like this," Shinho said with a nod before returning to his paperwork.
"Thank you, Master!" Ichikishima-hime beamed.
…
At Konoha's Gate.
Hinata filled out the departure forms while Shino Aburame and Kiba Inuzuka waited behind her.
"Thanks for your help, Yamato," Anko said nervously.
Unlike in the original timeline, she now knew the truth from Orochimaru.
Her decision to go to Oni Island in the Land of the Sea wasn't just to face her past but also to rescue any innocents who might still be suffering due to Orochimaru's experiments.
"It's no trouble," Yamato replied calmly.
"We're all set. Let's move," Anko said, her impatience evident.
The Land of the Sea bordered the Land of Water, requiring a three-day boat journey. Including the return trip, the mission would take about a week.
…
Three Days Later - Midnight.
Shinho woke, dressed quickly, and made his way to Tsunade's room.
"Come in," her voice called after a moment.
Shinho hadn't concealed his presence as he waited outside, and with her strength, she could naturally detect if someone was loitering infront of her room.
Tsunade, dressed in loose sleepwear, was sitting on her bed. Her legs were hidden beneath the covers, but her gaze met his as he entered.
"Happy birthday, Sensei," Shinho said with a smile.
"Couldn't you have said that during the day?" Tsunade asked, her tone tinged with annoyance. "Waking me up in the middle of the night—what nerve!"
"I wanted to be the first to wish you," Shinho replied, sitting at the edge of her bed.
"Fine," Tsunade said, though her expression softened as she extended her hand. "Your gift better be worth it. I was going to ask for ten million ryo first, but since you disturbed my sleep, it's twenty million now."
"No problem," Shinho said without hesitation.
"That's more like it." Tsunade relaxed, a small smile playing on her lips.
"I also have another gift for you." Shinho opened his hand, revealing the Human Power Triumphs Heaven Gu, shaped like a ginseng root.
"What does this one do?" Tsunade asked, unfazed. She had already received several Gu's from him before.
"It opens an aperture," Shinho explained, simplifying the concept of the aperture and its connection to chakra and natural energy.
He described it as a unique form of Sage Mode, inspired by his clan's insects, which possessed similar internal structures.
Tsunade froze. This "Sage Mode" sounded far superior to the Shikkotsu Forest variant.
"Can all members of the Aburame clan do this?" she asked, imagining the clan's potential if everyone could access such a technique.
"No," Shinho replied with a smile. "Cultivating this Gu is incredibly challenging. Right now, it's just you and me."
Tsunade hesitated, then said, "I can't accept it."
"Why not?" Shinho asked, puzzled.
"You should give it to your family first," Tsunade explained.
"You are my family," Shinho said, pinching her cheek gently.
Tsunade's heart skipped a beat as an inexplicable warm sensation spread through her chest.
Though she had always considered him family, hearing him say it aloud made her heart race.
"Sweet talker," Tsunade said with a laugh, her sleepwear shifting slightly as her body moved, accentuating her curves.
"Does it look that good?" Tsunde asked, noticing hsis gaze.
"It's beautiful," Shinho said, his gaze appreciative.
"You little brat," Tsunade teased, flicking his forehead lightly. "Aren't you afraid I'll beat you up?"
"You wouldn't," Shinho replied confidently.
"Humph," Tsunade huffed. "How do I use it?"
"Just close your eyes," Shinho instructed, holding her hand.
Tsunade obeyed, and within moments, a mysterious sensation spread from her abdomen throughout her body.
Her consciousness sank, and she found herself sensing her Aperture.
The spherical aperture glowed faintly, with a central sea of copper-coloured liquid energy filling up to 70% of the space.
Her's was a B-rank aperture.
Within the energy sea floated three ripples, representing the Hundred-Year Wood Charm Gu, Grass Puppet Gu, and Vine Claw Gu that Shinho had prepared for her.
As natural energy flowed into her aperture, Tsunade realized how seamlessly she could now harness Sage Mode.
Opening her eyes, she looked at Shinho, momentarily dazed. From the Lifespan Gu to the Human Power Triumph Heaven Gu, he had given her so much—how could she ever repay him?
"How do you feel, Sensei?" Shinho asked.
"Wonderful," Tsunade replied, regaining her composure.
"It seems there's no problem," Shinho said, taking a deep breath with a smile, "Then… do I get a reward?"
Instead of answering, Tsunade gazed at him, her expression softening.
"Sensei, Why are you looking at me like that, it's making me nervous," Shinho said actually feeling a bit uncomfortable.
"Nervous?" Tsunade's smile widened as she grabbed him and pulled him into the bed.
"What…?" Shinho froze.
"You little brat, I've put up with you for too long!" Tsunade said through her grin, pinning him beneath her. Her toned legs flexed as she leaned over him, her golden hair cascading like a waterfall.
Shinho's eyes widened, his view overtaken by her snowy white skin. It felt like summer had turned to winter, and he was gazing at a serene snowy mountain.
"Are you still scared?" Tsunade asked with a seductive smile.
"No... not at all," Shinhi stammered a bit, swallowing hard.
"I'm the one who should be nervous," Tsunade murmured, trembling slightly. A flicker of hesitation crossed her flushed face.
"I'll always be here for you sensei," Shinho, reassured her with a firm tone.
"You always know what to say," Tsunade replied, closing her eyes.
Memories of their first meeting flashed through her mind as she felt tears escape from the corners of her eyes.
Shinho gently held her trembling figure.
"Sensei, it's okay now," he said softly.
But moments later, Tsunade snapped at him angrily. "You're in trouble now!"
Shinho stared at her in confusion, only to realize she was glaring at him because of where his hands had wandered.
Tsunade sat up, her hands forming seals.
"Wait!" Shinho exclaimed in terror. "You're not going to use the Yin Seal, are you? Please, no!"
Tsunade smirked at his reaction. It was time for this brat to experience the same pain she had just endured.
"You're forbidden from using the Yin Seal. Understood?" Tsunade leaned down, her voice soft yet commanding. "This is your teacher's order."
"Fine… okay," Shinho agreed reluctantly, completely out of control of his own situation.
"You can surrender anytime, you know," Tsunade said, her tone seductive to the extreme.
"Surrender isn't in my vocabulary!" Shinho declared with conviction.
His philosophy in life was simple: no matter how tough things get, face them head-on. In his past life, it could be summed up in one phrase: "Brave as a bull, fearless in the face of hardship."
"Good!" Tsunade said with a broad smile.
Her competitive nature relished the challenge. She loved nothing more than chewing down the toughest bones.
Shinho gritted his teeth, glaring at her defiantly. Even if he were crushed to pieces, he would never admit defeat.
As time passed, Tsunade's voice broke the silence.
"Brat, why are you crying?"
Her tone carried unrestrained delight.
"You're crying too!" Shinho retorted with a cold snort.
At that moment, Tsunade's face was flushed a deep red, her fair skin slick with sweat.
The droplets traveled along her collarbone, down her curvaceous figure, and over her firm, shapely thighs. Her ten toes curled and flexed.
"I am not!" Tsunade clenched and once again pummeled.
"You… you're cheating!" Shinho muttered weakly.
The Yin Seal gave Tsunade an overwhelming advantage. It not only restored her stamina but also allowed her precise control over her body.
"I… I'm your teacher!" Tsunade said, smiling radiantly. Her gaze was soft and tender, enough to melt the hardest diamond.
"I… I have work tomorrow…" Shinho pleaded an hour later, trying to use his position as leverage, like tsunade had all her life as the Hokage. "I'm the Hokage!"
"And so was I. Rejected," Tsunade replied, her voice raspy yet tinged with affection. Her blushed and messy face only accentuated her seductiveness.
"Dawn… dawn is breaking… Konoha can't go without me…" Two hours later, Shinho's muffled voice emerged as he lay metaphorically buried beneath a snowdrift.
"F-fine," Tsunade relented finally, exhaling deeply. Even with her Yin seal, she was exhausted to the extreme. Truely, this was one of the hardest battle she had fought.
Shinho closed his eyes and immediately fell asleep.
Tsunade couldn't help but smile.
She admitted to herself that she had gone too far tonight. Decades of pent-up emotions had surged forth like a relentless tide.
She had long wanted to teach this brat a lesson. This was her chance to remind him who the teacher was.
…
As the blood-stained night finally gave way to dawn, Shinho woke up, his body aching all over.
She was too curel. Tsunade had been an absolute demon last night.
As he stretched, the system's notification brought him fully awake:
[Achievement Unlocked: "Rebellious Disciple." Reward: Spring Autumn Cicada.]
[Spring Autumn Cicada (Rank 6): A legendary Gu worm capable of reversing time at the cost of the user's life, sending them back to a chosen moment in the past.]
Shinho stared at the notification in shock. The Spring Autumn Cicada? The legendary Gu worm from the Ten Great Mystical Gu list?
He immediately checked his aperture space.
Floating within his energy sea was a delicate, leaf-shaped cicada Gu. Its translucent wings shimmered with intricate vein patterns, and its wooden-like body bore rings that seemed to radiate the passage of time.
The Spring Autumn Cicada was a priceless treasure, capable of true time reversal—not parallel timelines, but the same world reset to a previous state.
Despite its limitations, as it can only be used by those at or below Rank 6 and with a chance of failure unless paired with specific supplementary Gu, it was an unparalleled safeguard.
Shinho quickly regained his composure. He didn't need the Spring Autumn Cicada at the moment. Life was going well, and there was no reason to start over.
Still, having it was far better than needing it without possessing it. What if some catastrophic event—like the premature arrival of the Otsutsuki clan—occurred? With the Spring Autumn Cicada, Shinho's peace of mind was secure.
Another notification appeared:
[Achievement Unlocked: "A New Starting Point." Reward: Borrowed Strength Gu.]
[Borrow Strength Gu (Rank 5): A Gu that allows the user to borrow power from their surroundings or elemental forces when paired with compatible Gu.]
Two new lines of text appeared before his eyes, leaving Shinho utterly bewildered.
The system's logic was as abstract as ever. The rewards were excellent, but Shinho couldn't stop himself from silently complaining.
Like the All-Out Effort Gu, Borrow Strength Gu was central to power-based killer moves. However, its function differed—it couldn't be used independently.
With Sky Strength Gu, it drew power from the heavens.
With Earth Strength Gu, it borrowed strength from the earth.
With Fire Strength Gu, it tapped into the flames' might.
With Water Strength Gu, it harnessed the power of flowing water.
Borrow Strength Gu was also the core Gu for the rank-5 killer move, Six-Arm Heavenly Zombie King.
Step by step, Shinho was advancing toward the pinnacle of the mortal path.
"My teacher really is my lucky goddess," Shinho murmured, opening his eyes with a sigh.
His gaze fell on the peacefully sleeping Tsunade.
Her ivory skin gleamed like silk, exposed to the cool night air. Her face was slightly flushed, adding an enchanting warmth to her already soft and alluring features.
Her snowy curves rested naturally against him, delicate yet weighty in all the right ways, pressing lightly on his chest like a gentle mountain cloaked in fresh powder.
Shinho sighed inwardly. Even asleep, Sensei is breathtaking.
