Chapter 16: The Rabbit’s Surprise
Bella's heart pounded violently in her chest. She had climbed in quietly, careful not to make a sound, and curled herself under the blanket on his bed.
Her favorite nightgown clung delicately to her form, chosen carefully, just for him.
"He's going to love this… He'll probably freak out in the best way," she thought, ears twitching nervously. She pulled the blanket over her head, hiding herself completely.
Only her curvy silhouette traced her body nicely. If Ragnar saw that, he would thank God for such a gift.
Then the soft creak of the door came.
Her body froze. Is it him? Or… someone else? Her heartbeat sped, nearly rattling her ears. Footsteps approached, slow and cautious.
It's coming…
But then, just silence.
Minutes dragged on. Five long minutes of nothing. Bella's ears flattened nervously. Curiosity finally got the better of her. She peeked out from under the blanket, the tip of one ear trembling in the moonlight.
What she saw froze her in place.
Ragnar and Kalia were sitting at the edge of the bed, kissing softly, intimately.
Red flares ignited in Bella's eyes. Her chest heaved as a dangerous smirk curled across her lips with one dominant thought: No one gets him before me.
Smoke erupted from her small, tense body. In moments, she shrank into the small white rabbit she had once been.
Her ears twitched violently, and her red eyes burned with determination. With one swift leap, she jumped at Kalia, blocking the kiss with an indignant squeak.
"Hey! My Ragnar! Don't you dare!" she tried to say, but in her rabbit form, just cute squeaks came instead.
Ragnar froze mid-motion, caught between shock and amusement. Then he chuckled, shaking his head.
"Look at that," he laughed softly. "The rabbit wants her share of my attention."
Bella nodded vigorously, hopping up and down, tail flicking, ears flopping, fully committed to her mission.
Kalia blinked at the sudden blur of white fur. "Oh… well," she said softly, smiling despite the chaos. "Hello there, little one."
As Kalia tried to reach down and pat her, Bella hissed at her, fur bristling. Her hand froze mid-air, slowly retreating. A faint shadow of sadness crossed her face.
"Does she… hate me?" Kalia whispered quietly, glancing at Ragnar. Her lips curved downward just slightly.
Bella's ears twitched angrily, but after a moment, she straightened. It didn't matter. Her mission was done.
Kalia, seemingly unconcerned, straightened herself and began leaving the room, heading for the kitchen. "I'll go help Aria with dinner," she said lightly, humming. "She could use the extra hands."
Ragnar nodded, watching her leave. Bella's ears twitched at the sight. She's gone… finally, I have him to myself now.
Silence settled in the room. For a moment, it was just him and the bed… and the cute rabbit beside him. Ragnar leaned back slightly, enjoying the rare calm.
Then he remembered.
"Oh, right…" he muttered, standing. "I forgot something in the drawer."
He bent over the wooden drawer at the base of the bed, giving his back to the rabbit.
Bella's ears perked up. Her red eyes narrowed. She squeaked: Now's my chance.
In small, silent hops, her rabbit form moved to the door. Tiny paws gripped the handle. She paused, checking over her shoulder to ensure Ragnar hadn't noticed.
Then, in one swift, puff-of-smoke motion, her body expanded. Her curvy humanoid rabbit form appeared, ears tall and twitching, hair flowing down her back, eyes glowing bright red. Her chest rose and fell quickly, her heart hammering.
She locked the door behind them. "Now he can't run away," she thought evilly.
As he kept searching through the drawer, she walked slowly to him, her wide hips swaying seductively.
When she reached him, she dropped her soft hands on his shoulder, and with one swift movement, she leaned herself to his ears.
"Squeak," she said simply. Ragnar gulped and turned toward her, taking in the scene in front of him.
There stood the best combination of cute and sexy, big ass, huge breasts, and cute rabbit eyes.
Even though he didn't understand the rabbit language, he understood one thing from it.
This woman wants him.
Resisting the urge to hug her, he said, "Sorry, but who are you, and where is the rabbit who was here?"
Hearing those words, Bella smiled and said, "It's still her, it's just that this is my original form. I didn't want to show it to you because I thought you would hate it."
Ragnar gulped, thinking, "Hate it? Hahaha, I would… I've loved it even more."
Snapping back to Bella, he asked, "So what's your name, and why did you show me this form?"
Bella answered smoothly, "It's Bella. And don't you remember me, that cute brown rabbit from 19 years ago? Because I was young and playing all the time with dirt, I was brown-colored."
Realizing it, Ragnar's mouth hung open. "Wait, you were that brown rabbit I saved?"
"But one day you just vanished without any trace. I thought you already left."
Bella nodded, her hands clasped. "Yes, I was that brown rabbit, and I vanished because our tribe needed to relocate, they were getting attacked by the wolves repeatedly."
"That must have been bad. I hope you got rid of the problem now."
"Don't worry, I did get rid of the wolf race and any species that threatened us," she said casually.
Gulping, Ragnar asked her, "How did you manage to do that?"
Bella smiled, evil and chilling. "To make our reunion the best, I had to grow strong enough to make any creature in this village tremble at the mention of my name."
The system notification rang out:
[Alert: Host seems to have met a Demi-god evolved being, identifying numbers of evolution: 8 times]
Ragnar asked the system silently in his head, "Hey system, how strong is she now?"
Replying to the host: She is the strongest in the forest and could even be in the top 100 strongest beings in this world.
"You didn't answer my question. I need a clear example!" Ragnar shouted impatiently. But the system's next words made his heart fall.
She could easily destroy this forest, and if she went all out, she could probably clean the surface of this continent in a day.
Ragnar's heart sank. "Damn, I need to know how to play it cool here, or she could sneeze at me and I would get turned to dust."
