Michael frowned slightly. The guy's background was not simple. He was the leader of the dark elves, Malekith's first subordinate, and the only remaining cursed warrior. It seemed that the dark elves were preparing to invade Asgard on a large scale.
"Looks like I have to hurry up too!" Michael muttered to himself, then turned and left.
Michael had familiarized himself with the place yesterday, and with his deliberate efforts, he soon found the location of the Celestial Palace's treasure house. However, he didn't take action right away; instead, he went to find Thor.
"You know my identity, so you should know some of my abilities, right?" Michael asked Thor directly.
Thor nodded.
"Then you know that I have the ability to predict the future, right? Although this ability isn't always reliable, it's accurate enough. It's because of this ability that I managed to find the Aether particles in the Dark Kingdom. Just now, I sensed again that Asgard might be in trouble." Michael said in a deep voice.
Thor frowned, "If you're joking, this isn't funny!"
"I wish it were a joke. The dark elf leader Malekith invaded Asgard, and countless Asgardian warriors perished. The place was nearly reduced to ruins. Believe me, Thor, I'm not kidding. You'd better be prepared."
"Brother, thank you for the warning. However, if they dare come, I'll make them regret invading Asgard!" Thor patted Michael's shoulder gratefully, though it was clear he didn't take the warning seriously.
Michael couldn't tell whether Thor didn't believe his prediction or simply didn't take the dark elves seriously.
'Arrogant Thor. I've warned you—whether you believe it or not is up to you.' Michael thought to himself.
Just then, a piercing bell rang out, and Thor's face changed instantly, "That's Asgard's warning bell. Something's happened. I'm going to check it out. Be careful!"
With that, Thor swung his hammer and flew away.
Michael shrugged and smiled, "The dark elves' attack has begun... so I have to hurry up. The treasure house of Asgard, don't let me down!"
The prison was already in chaos. The cursed warrior had escaped, killed several Asgardian warriors, and smashed other cells, releasing prisoners who naturally began to resist.
At that moment, the cursed warrior stood in front of the cell where Loki was imprisoned. Loki looked at him calmly, which seemed to anger the warrior. Rather than freeing Loki, he turned and left.
"Hey, you'd better go left!" Loki suddenly shouted. The cursed warrior glanced at him without a word, then turned and left.
Not long after, Thor arrived and announced that if the prisoners returned to their cells, he'd pardon them. But the prisoners refused and soon started fighting again.
Meanwhile, Malekith's dark elf spaceship entered Asgard invisibly. Heimdall spotted it but couldn't stop it. Small fighter jets emerged from the spaceship, launching an attack!
Amidst the chaos, Asgard was fully engulfed in war. Michael, meanwhile, had reached the treasure house.
Asgard was in utter turmoil. Michael watched as countless Asgardian warriors rushed to various areas to defend the city. Flames of war spread everywhere, and even the guards near the treasury had joined the fight.
Michael smiled to himself as he approached the entrance to the treasure house and pushed the door open.
As soon as he stepped inside, he was awestruck. The treasures here were astonishing.
"I'm going to get rich!" He chuckled as he surveyed the room.
Everything seemed valuable, though he couldn't identify all the items. His attention soon settled on a central platform holding a box. The Aether particles within him became unusually active as he approached, signaling that the box was something special.
As he neared it, Michael felt a freezing cold, as though he'd be frozen solid. Activating the Extremis virus to warm his surroundings with magma-like heat, he was finally able to withstand the cold.
"Could this be the Ice Giants' treasure, Casket of Ancient Winters." Michael's eyes lit up. It was rumored to contain deathly cold that could plunge all nine realms into an Ice Age.
"System, put it away!" He commanded, placing his hand on the Ice Box.
The box vanished instantly.
Looking around for other treasures, Michael remembered there might be items like the Tesseract, the Eternal Flame, and an obelisk from the Inhumans—a treasure trove of universe-level items indeed.
Just as he was about to search further, the ground trembled, and a deep roar echoed. A massive figure appeared.
"The Cursed Warrior?"
Michael was surprised. Wasn't this warrior supposed to be securing Asgard's defenses for Malekith's invasion? Why was he here instead?
Seeing the Cursed Warrior charging toward him, Michael smirked, "Perfect. I'll use you to test the Aether particles' power!"
Summoning the Aether particles, darkness enveloped him before he flew at the cursed warrior.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
The cursed warrior staggered back under the assault. Michael transformed the particles into a spear and struck forward.
Puff!
The spear pierced the cursed warrior's body. His eyes widened in disbelief as he realized he'd been defeated. In his last moments, he managed to pull out a grenade-like device and threw it toward Michael before slumping over, dead.
Michael cursed as he saw the grenade. It was immensely powerful; after exploding, it would create a black-hole-like vortex, capable of crushing anything in its path.
Shielding himself with the Aether particles, Michael leaped away just in time. A vortex formed, annihilating the platform where the Ice Box had been.
"Well, that's convenient. It even created an excuse for me!" Michael chuckled, grateful to the fallen warrior.
However, the disturbance attracted attention. Hearing footsteps approaching, Michael realized he had to give up his search for more treasures. One shouldn't be too greedy—just taking the Casket of Ancient Winters was already a massive win.
As he retracted the Aether particles, fatigue overtook him, and he slumped to the ground.
At that moment, a figure rushed in—Sif. She looked at him, surprised to see him there.
"It's you! Why are you here?" She asked.
"He chased me!" Michael replied.
