Chapter 20: Chapter 20: Evolution & Ascension!

As her eyes opened, Alchemy desperately gasped for air, shooting up from the ground.

"Where am I?" She questioned, frantically looking around.

The scenery told her that she was in her new bedroom, the young deer calf sleeping next to her reinforced that notion.

Just as she managed to comprehend her surroundings, a headache overcame her, and memories of yesterday afternoon began to return to her in a blur.

"Right… I got upset after Sapphire got hurt for me… And then went berserk? I guess. Because… I lost one."

After a certain point, all she could remember was red. She vaguely remembered using her [Idol] to capture the large bird but didn't remember how she controlled it. Not well, at least, but nothing more than the theory she had prior.

Since she managed to use it, her thoughts about it acting as an extension of your limb. Like how, when you swing a sword, or any object for that matter, it will still go precisely where you want it to.

She let out a low groan.

"Status."

Seeing that she finally unlocked the third and final tab of her status, Alchemy couldn't say she was particularly happy about it.

"This is already a good outcome. One that I shouldn't be able to achieve ever realistically. So why can't I be happy with it?" She asked herself.

This was impossible in Ancients of Ascension. No matter how well she could command her units, individual units couldn't scatter like they could in reality. If an attack targeted them, they would get hit. Now, however, units could fly around and doge on their own. They could desync their attacks to make them more efficient.

It was the reason she was able to handle two elite wolves who were seven levels above her and an elite eagle who was 20 levels above her. The fact that she lost a single unit from a single squadron was already beyond what could be considered a miracle.

As befitting as that was now that she was a Goddess aside, she knew this. And she knew that losses were inevitable eventually.

"I was careless. I need to do more. I need to stand in front of them so they don't lose their lives." She shook her head in an attempt to push such thoughts behind.

Moving the page, Alchemy decided to check her third status page. At the same time, Sapphire began waking up.

Closing that, she then checked her backlog to see if there was anything new that she needed to pay attention to. Luckily, she wasn't worried about her civilization not functioning while she was out. The fact that her subordinates weren't starving was proof enough that they kept working even while she was unconscious.

'Sapphire's a she? Guess that saves me the hassle of checking.'

"Krr." Sapphire hummed before snuggling up to Alchemy.'

"Good morning, Sapphire. Are you trying to cheer me up?"

The still half-asleep deer nodded, refusing to pull away from her master.

'Well, this is fine. I need some time to myself before I confront the Thorns anyway. I'll also get the ascension stuff done now.'

Pressing yes, Alchemy was bombarded with more notifications.

"Wait, 3rd? Meaning others were brought here as well."

This information just had to be given to her while her emotions were in chaos. On the one hand, most of her friends from her [Alliance], A.O.A's version of guilds, were probably in this world with her. On the other hand, she gave them about 100 codes. How many of those did they give out before being dragged here?

"Please don't let this become a problem…" She sighed.

Pushing the screens aside, Alchemy re-opened her Evolution screen.

||

Naturally, she tapped yes again. If she stayed as an [Infantile Divinity], then she wouldn't ever be able to level up past 10.

'These are the condensed notifications… What would I be seeing if I didn't mute them?'
