Chapter 18: KOW Chapter 18 Tree Climbing
When Senju Hashirama extended his invitation, Qin Yi wasn't surprised as Gandalf had already mentioned it. After a moment of consideration, Qin Yi replied,
"Thank your Hokage for the invitation and tell him that I will arrive shortly."
Despite the initial friction between the two sides when he first arrived in this world, both Konoha and Qin Yi's faction had tacitly agreed to let bygones be bygones, whether for the sake of the current situation or future development.
For powerful factions, mutual interests always outweighed grudges.
"I will wait ahead to guide you, my lord."
The cat-masked Shinobi smiled before he turned and left.
Qin Yi's eyes flickered. He was well aware that the 6,000 soldiers under his command were undoubtedly under Konoha's surveillance during these days. An army of that size wouldn't go unnoticed by any force.
Turning away, Qin Yi called for Gandalf and the Three Generals.
"Konoha's invitation for Your Majesty is something we anticipated."
"From our analysis, there are three main reasons behind this meeting."
"First, to smooth over past friction. Konoha doesn't seem intent on starting a war. It's said that their Hokage is a peace-loving individual."
"Second, they see potential in our faction and may want to invite us to join them. According to the intelligence we've gathered, Konoha itself is still in the early stages of establishing its influence and is trying to ally with other factions."
"Third, it's about Your Majesty. Your performance in the previous battle was remarkable and left a deep impression on them."
The Three Generals spoke with clarity, and their analysis was based on recent intelligence and neatly exposed the essence of the situation. Qin Yi couldn't help but feel a hint of surprise when he heard them.
He realized that the pillars of his kingdom were not the ministers of indulgence and incompetence, but these three generals standing before him.
They were fearless, bold, loyal, and selfless – individuals who truly benefited the kingdom.
Gandalf stood to the side, smiling silently as he watched the discussion unfold.
"Of course, this is just our rough estimation. The specifics will depend on what their Hokage has to say." Yang Yi added with a smile.
Qin Yi nodded, furrowing his brow in thought before issuing his orders.
"Gather a hundred soldiers who have shown the greatest proficiency in Chakra training during this period. They will accompany us to Konoha."
"General Fang Lan, I'll need you to remain here and oversee the camp until we return."
It was impossible for the entire army of nearly 6,000 soldiers to enter Konoha Village; such a move would cause tremendous upheaval. This trip's purpose was simply a diplomatic visit and negotiation.
Soon, a hundred outstanding soldiers were selected.
As Qin Yi scanned the neat and imposing formation before him, he nodded silently in approval.
Without a doubt, the soldiers of the Kingdom were loyal and formidable. These men were likely trained by his father – wherever he had found or shaped them.
Though they were ordinary people, they were battle-hardened, capable of adapting swiftly to new environments and enduring harsh survival conditions.
In Qin Yi's estimation, their talents were exceptional. In a short amount of time, their Chakra reserves had nearly reached the level of Genin.
"It's just a pity that there aren't enough Ninjutsu scrolls."
He sighed internally, feeling troubled by this shortfall.
"Time has been too short. I do have some scrolls on hand, but I haven't had the chance to teach them yet."
After a brief moment of contemplation, Qin Yi decided not to delay further. He gestured for the group to move forward with the two generals and Gandalf.
Along the way, Qin Yi didn't remain idle.
"Order the soldiers to use their Chakra to adhere to the tree trunks and move forward by running along the branches."
"Additionally, ensure they quickly learn these three Ninjutsu techniques."
Calling over Qin Lin, Qin Yi handed him instructions for the Three Basic Techniques (Henge no Jutsu (Transformation Jutsu), Bunshinjutsu (Clone Jutsu), and Kawarimi no Jutsu (Substitution Jutsu)), quietly explaining the process.
Qin Lin immediately set to work, his heart racing slightly as he realized the significance of what Qin Yi had entrusted to him.
This strange "World's Strength" was truly marvelous. When applied to swordsmanship, blade techniques, or even body techniques (Taijutsu), it could significantly amplify destructive power. Over the past two days, Qin Lin and the soldiers had begun learning to harness this power during their training, leaving them ecstatic.
They finally understood why there had been such a massive gap in strength between them and their opponents.
"As long as we have this new power, we can be just as strong as they are!"
With this thought in mind, Qin Lin quickly turned to continue teaching the soldiers.
Before long, under Qin Yi's instructions, all the soldiers began practicing running up tree trunks.
Faced with this newfound power, the soldiers were visibly excited and deeply interested. Their talent was evident – after just a bit of practice, some were already able to run several steps up the tree trunks, parallel to the ground.
The sight of defying the laws of gravity had the soldiers shouting in excitement.
Qin Yi smiled as he watched them. He could sense his "King's Strength" fluctuating slightly. It was as though the soldiers' progress was subtly enhancing his own power.
Though the effect was almost negligible, it underscored the profound connection between himself as king and his nation.
"Haha, let me give it a try too!"
Gandalf chuckled as he moved toward a tree trunk.
To Qin Yi, the two generals, and the soldiers' amazement, the towering old man – over three meters tall – effortlessly walked up the tree trunk. Reaching the branches, he leaped lightly and landed gracefully atop one.
"Haha, it's quite simple!" Gandalf laughed heartily.
Qin Yi shook his head with an amused smile. For a demi-god like Gandalf, tasks requiring precise control over energy were hardly challenging.
Gandalf's success ignited the soldiers' enthusiasm even further, and they continued practicing as they advanced.
An hour later, Qin Lin burst into laughter as he climbed up a tree trunk, parallel to the ground, scaling the massive tree vertically all the way to its top.
"It seems the generals and soldiers, thanks to their diligent daily training, have managed to transfer their experience in mastering strength to their Chakra control, allowing them to grasp it quickly."
Qin Yi reflected, realizing the reason for their swift progress.
Gandalf's mastery was no surprise, and Qin Lin's ability was also expected – they were seasoned veterans, after all.
The soldiers continued to practice diligently, showing noticeable improvement with every attempt.
Two hours later, the group regrouped in the dense forest with the cat-masked Shinobi.
"Leader, are you teaching your subordinates to use Chakra?"
The Shinobi, eyes curious, asked while looking at the soldiers.
"That's correct."
Qin Yi nodded briefly, offering no further explanation.
The cat-masked Shinobi merely asked the one question and fell silent. Leading the way in front, he remained watchful of the group behind him – these soldiers who were leaping on and off the trees.
Though their Chakra control was still weak, the Shinobi could no longer see them as mere ordinary soldiers. To him, they were already beginning to qualify as Shinobi.
Yet, based on the information he had received from his comrades, this group was supposed to be nothing more than ordinary soldiers!
"Does that mean these people have already begun learning Chakra in such a short time?"
"And it's all thanks to their leader?"
