Illuso's POV

One day, late morning, Illuso spent his time in a way he didn't do very often, but still quite a favourite of his. Namely, he was just lying on his bed doing nothing.

'Oh man, this is boring as hell. I could lie like this all day and do nothing, but it wouldn't do much good. No, I've got to do something to keep myself busy, or I could take root like this.'

Pulling his will together, Illuso found the strength to get out of bed. After washing his face and having a little snack, he left the inn and began to walk among the city streets, looking for something to entertain himself.

'Man, why didn't the others take me with them? It's just scouting the area. It's better than dying out here. It's a nice town, beautiful and all, but it's boring. The notice board's full of newbie crap that you don't even want to do because you're bored. And the tournaments... Fuck the tournaments!'

Not finding anything interesting to do while wandering the streets Illuso decided to go back to his room.

After napping for another hour, he did some calisthenics to cheer himself up, had another light snack, then went into the bathroom to take a leak and wash up.

'Sometimes some thoughts cross my mind... It's been over a month since we entered the game. In that time, we haven't come one step closer to the arrow or anything related to it. However... It seems to me that it's not that simple. What if the path we're on is the right one? What if waiting is what we need? Yeah, sure, it's kind of weird to just sit around and wait for your goal to come to you after you've defeated a bunch of enemies. But I have this weird feeling that it's the right way to go. Risotto told us all that when we found that anomaly, but now I feel it too. It's strange, but it feels right.'

Standing in front of the washbasin and looking in the mirror Illuso saw in the reflection that right behind him, in the open window was a human silhouette. He instantly turned around, but there was no one there. He looked in the mirror again, which again had someone's silhouette in it.

'What the...'

He turned around again and behind him there was once again no one. Looking in the mirror again, he found that the silhouette was gone.

'What was that just now?'

After looking in the mirror and at the window behind him a few more times he decided he had imagined it all and got out of the bath.

'Galloons, galloons, you're my mates... That's what happens when you sleep too much. I've got to go for a walk and do something.'

Once outside Illuso started walking the streets again, hoping to find something interesting and entertaining. However, a strange feeling hadn't left him since leaving the inn. All the way he felt like he was being followed, and someone was getting closer and closer.

'Okay! I don't like this at all anymore! This feeling... There's definitely someone following me. But where? If you look closely at the people on the street, you can't sense anything unusual about them. Well, there's definitely something wrong. Then in the bathroom... I'm beginning to think it wasn't a hallucination.'

Looking around at the people on the street Illuso glanced out the window of one of the shops. There was nothing interesting in the shop itself, but what was in the reflection of the glass threw him into a bit of a shock.

'Damn it! Those weren't hallunions after all! It's an enemy Stand!'

In the reflection of the glass, Illuso saw something that looked like a human. This Stand was like a mummy with mechanical elements. Most of his body was covered in bandages, and half of his mechanical brain was open.

Stand stood a few metres away from Illuso and gradually approached him. If one looked closely, one would find that he had unusual hands. Instead of the supposed right and left hands, he had two right hands, from whose wrists sharp metal blades began to extend as he approached Illuso.

'What the hell is that? I can't see him near me, but if I look in the reflection of the glass, I can clearly see him getting closer and closer. Could it be the Stand that exists in the looking glass world!'

Illuso noticed that the enemy Stand had already come quite close and was about to deliver a blow to the head. The blow was quite fast, but Illuso managed to dodge in time, but it left a small cut on his chin.

'Damn! I can't see him. It's going to be hard to fight him then.'

Illuso pulled out a hand mirror from his waistcoat pocket and looked into it in an attempt to see his enemy, but there was no one in it.

'What! He's not in this reflection! Have I made a mistake and he does not exist in the looking-glass? No, I was not mistaken. He is not in this mirror, however if you look at the reflection of the shop glass, he is there now and is about to attack again. It turns out... He can only exist on one reflective surface!'

The enemy Stand threw another strike and this time it hit well. Illuso's chest was left with a slash that was not very deep, but still quite painful, extending diagonally across his chest.

Turning his attention back to the reflection of the glass Illuso noticed that no one was there anymore.

'What! Where did he go?'

Looking around he looked into the reflection of the glass of another shop on the other side of the street and saw that the enemy Stand was already there. He tried to stab Illuso in the back, but he managed to dodge without any consequences for himself.

'A moment... Just for a moment, I had time to notice the small ray of light that had just passed by me, which travelled straight to the glass of the building on the other side of the street. I now realised the point of this Stand!'

- That's pretty good,' Illuso said, hoping his enemy would hear his words, 'You move across reflective surfaces like a beam of light. And you can only be in one reflection. Not bad... I take it it's long-range, right? Never mind, though. Now it's my turn! I'll show you who is the real master of the mirror!

In the blink of an eye, before the enemy could strike again, Illuso moved into the looking glass.

- Now we can really fight. - Illuso turned to Stand, who stood a few metres away from him.

- Can you see my Stand just like that? - Apparently the host spoke through his Stand, -It's strange... Apparently you've just travelled to the looking glass. Distantly, but our abilities are similar. However... You still have nothing to counter my Hanged Man!

- We'll see about that!

Hanged Man moved behind Illuso's back and was about to strike, but as soon as he did so, Man in the Mirror appeared and punched him in the face, sending him flying backwards a few metres.

- I don't often have to fight with other Stands in the looking glass,' Illuso said calmly, but at the same time a little smugly, 'Because I don't usually let them into this world. But you are truly a unique case. However, you shouldn't be so cocky, freak! This is my world, not yours! You may be able to move across any reflective surface, but that doesn't make your Stand any better. You're no match for my Man in the Mirror!

Hanged Man came to his senses and immediately began to move at the speed of light across the reflective surfaces around Illuso, choosing his moment to attack. Eventually he moved behind him again and prepared to strike. Illuso reacted instantly and tried to counterattack, but in the blink of an eye Stand moved again, this time to the side of Illuso and struck him in the shin of his left leg, then moved again and tried to strike him in the head, and although Illuso had time to react, the blow left a deep, almost penetrating cut on his cheek. However, Man in the Mirror managed to land a couple of punches to his opponent's body and another to his face, causing him to stagger and almost fall. Man in the Mirror tried to grab him by the throat with both hands, but he quickly recovered and used his blades to stab Man in the Mirror in the palms of his hands, causing him to scream slightly and fall backwards.

'Oh shit! His attack speed isn't very fast and I can keep up with him in close combat without a problem. However, his movement speed is too fast! My Stand isn't fast enough to keep up with the beam of light. If I keep this up, of course I'll be able to beat him pretty badly, but there's a chance that he could smash me by then! In that case, I'll have to use this to win.'

- You've left me no choice,' Illuso turned to his enemy, 'You can start praying.

- Pray? Don't make me laugh! The only one who should be praying here is you!

With a slight smile and a heavy breath, Illuso prepared to use his ability. Even though it wasn't necessary at all, he decided to make a little speech for show:

- I am Illuso, Lord of the Mirror World. Lord of the Realm of the Dead. The one who can strip another man of his Stand, leaving him outside. The one who can lock a man in the mirror world, leaving him to wander the lifeless expanse of the looking glass for eternity. I command this space to shatter into a thousand small pieces, just as a mirror shatters when it falls from a great height. Man in the Mirror!

After Illuso's speech, the space around him began to distort. Like a cracking mirror, cracks began to appear all around. Not only on the ground, but also on buildings, trees, and even in the air. The entire space cracked and eventually shattered into tiny shards like a shattered mirror, leaving only an endless empty space filled with many shards floating in the air, and a small patch of ground on which they stood, which also looked like a huge mirror shard.

- What the hell!!! - Said the shocked Hanged Man, -What happened?! You... What kind of ability is that?! Answer me! Your Stand... How can it be able to do that?!

- Well... As you can see, it can,' Illuso replied with a wry smile, 'You can't escape, you can't hide, and you can't win...

Hanged Man moved to one of the shards flying around and tried to strike Illuso, but as he swung to strike, Man in the Mirror's fist struck him from the side of the head, then struck him again from the other side, and again from below with an uppercut.

- W... What is this... - Said the even more shocked foe.

He tried to strike again, and this time he succeeded, but at the last moment a shard of mirror stood in front of his hand, which redirected his blow to his back.

- Whoa! - He howled in pain, 'Who the hell are you?!

- I've said it before.

Hanged Man immediately began to move relentlessly through the shards that were flying around Illuso. However, he only smiled slightly and put his hand into one of the shards and grabbed it by the throat.

- No... Impossible! - Hanged Man said with difficulty.

- It's all useless,' Illuso said calmly, 'Yes, you're really fast. But you see... When you started moving around me non-stop, I had already arranged the shards in such a way that your trajectory would be the most predictable and easier to catch.

- You-- You--

Before he could say anything, Illuso began to deliver successive blows to his head until he finally cracked his skull.

With the enemy dead, space began to return to normal, eventually returning to its original form, after which Illuso escaped through the mirror into the real world. As soon as he did so he immediately collapsed to his knee and began breathing heavily.

'Whew... Gee... That certainly wasn't as tiring as last time, but it's still a hell of an energy drain. Good thing it was quick.'

Looking to the side, he noticed that about half a hundred metres away from him, at the end of the street, a crowd of people had gathered and were looking at something on the ground.

'Hmm, that must be where the body of the Stand's master is. Well, let it lie there, and I'll go to my room.'

Holding on to his wounds from the battle, he soon reached his inn, outside of which Risotto was already standing with everyone else. Noticing him, they were surprised at his appearance and asked him:

- Illuso, - Asked Melone, - What is the matter with you? Why are you hurt?

- It's just that I had a bad shave. - He replied.

- Shaved?! - Giaccio was surprised, - All right the cheek, but the chest...

- What's the big deal? I shaved my chest too. It's quite normal. I guess.

- And your legs too? - Risotto noticed a cut on his leg.

- Yeah, yeah. What's wrong with that? All normal men shave their legs.

Without saying anything else, he went back to his room with a satisfied look on his face.

- No, I agree with the last one. - Said Melone.

The others looked at him askew and eventually went to their rooms.
