Kigal-Note/Race: Dark Dwarf

Going to be using this style for "Species" Kigal-Note chapters from now on.

Name:
Dark Dwarf
Rank: D
Genus: Humanoid (Dwarf)
Attribute: ---
Traits: Humanoid (Dwarf), Pseudo-Demon

Description:

A Dark Dwarf is both an evolution path for the common Dwarf and a counterpart to the Dark Elf. Unlike Dark Elves who are semi-demonic entities with a stronger connection to the Elf species, Dark Dwarves are Dwarves whose Karma Value has gotten so low that they can qualify as a demon.

While not a forbidden-by-law race, Dark Dwarves have a bad reputation for their name. Calling them a species of mad scientists would be too kind. However, it is only the Dwarves with the highest amount of curiosity and lack of morals who can reach this evolution point, and those who do are generally the type not to care about their reputation anyway, meaning while there are just a few of them, there are still Dark Dwarves out there.

If you ever get the offer for a job given by a Dark Dwarf, make sure to tell people beforehand. And write a will, just in case.

Appearance:

Dark Dwarves are generally not that different from common Dwarves. They have short bodies that are almost (if not entirely) as wide as they are high, with muscles that can easily use a smithing hammer as they can a miner's pickaxe, while yet also being delicate enough to fashion the most gorgeous of accessories. The men tend to grow large and impressive beards.

What differs between a Dark and a normal Dwarf is their hair (beard) and skin colors. Dark Dwarves have dark, sun-tanned skin, despite being from a race that practically lives either underground or in a smith their whole lives, while their hair (beard) color is tar-black. Image-wise, they fit the "dark" better than the Dark Elves, but that is a debate nobody wins from.

Abilities:

Danger rank: D-

Rarity rank: C-

To evolve into a Dark Dwarf, the Dwarf in question needs to be talented with a branch of crafting along with having a high negative Karma Value. This restricts their attributes to mainly Construct-type attributes, but some might have gotten their negative Karma through the usage of certain Gloom-category or Remnant-category attributes.

Whatever the case, a Dark Dwarf alone is weak. They have close to 0 combat abilities unless they are relying on items they have developed. If they own such items, however, then their Danger Ranks cannot be determined that easily.

Scarecrow's comment: No, they are super-bad, those Dwarves!!

Breaker's comment: I think Hammerson is an exception to even that exception. And is it fine for us to comment here? ...I take your silence as a yes.
