Karna Reborn

Chapter 22: You really are like a system

The water levels then lower downs as they was no water left, as the group landed down as they saw the Dungeon gate.

Ashwathama the spoke. "Alright with that done, let's get our loot".

They walked too what the boss may have dauged, as Karna looked at his arm, he has absorbed the Naga Echo which meant in the future he can transform into it, like that of Specter Knight and Guardian, even if had not unlocked that feature yet.

Sita then spoke breaking Karna train of thought. "Hey Karna, why did you put into hand in the water for a bit?".

Karna looked at Sita as he spoke what came in his mind, hidding the fact he just absorbed an Echo. "Got some of the black blood that is all".

Rama raised an eyebrow as he examined Karna's hand. "That's not something you usually do."

Karna shrugged, playing it off. "Just curious about the properties of Naga blood. It might have some alchemical use."

Ashwatthama smirked. "Still the same old Karna, always thinking ahead."

Bhima grinned as he pushed ahead. "Enough chit-chat. Let's see what the boss left for us."

The group approached the loot pile, finding a mix of treasures—mana-infused pearls, enchanted armor pieces, and a shimmering trident that radiated strong water magic.

Sita picked up the trident, examining it. "This could fetch a high price on the market. Or, if anyone here uses spears, they could keep it."

Karna simply shrugged. "Water affinity isn't really my thing."

Bhima picked up a silver necklace with a blue gemstone embedded in the center. He used his [Appraisal] skill. "This is the 'Ocean's Blessing Amulet.' It grants enhanced stamina underwater and minor water resistance. Not bad."

Ashwathama found a set of heavy gauntlets, slipping them on with a grin. "These are mine."

Rama examined a scroll with intricate blue runes, his eyes narrowing. "This contains a water-element spell. I might be able to use it or modify it."

Karna, meanwhile, picked up a small orb pulsating with dark blue energy. His Sun Mark briefly flickered as he recognized it. "A Naga's Core… Interesting."

He stored it away, making a mental note to analyze it later.

After sorting the loot, Ashwatthama clapped his hands. "Alright, we're done here. Let's get out before another dungeon shift happens."

The group nodded, making their way toward the exit. Karna, however, glanced back at the remnants of the Naga's body. He could feel the Echo's dormant energy stirring within him.

"One day, I'll unlock it," he thought, before following the others out of the dungeon.

The group of 5 left the dungeon, as they saw Another person from the Hunters Guild.

Karna looked as he spoke. "Dungeon clear, 2 hour's before it collapsed"

Sita then looked at the menu with heavily machinery, as they walked passed the men who went into the dungeon.

Ashwathama then spoke. "So what were they there for".

Bhima explained to as he spoke. "They dungeon worker, after a Hunter's clear dungeon there job to mine the dungeon, for minerals, rare items, Crystal, monster crystal and many more, which then the company's sell under the supervision of the Hunter's Guild".

Rama nodded in understanding. "Makes sense. Dungeons aren't just about hunting monsters; they're also a source of resources."

Karna glanced back at the workers, watching as they efficiently set up their mining equipment. He had seen this process countless times before but never paid much attention to it.

Sita folded her arms. "It's a lucrative business, but also dangerous. Some dungeons have residual magic that can cause problems even after a clear."

Ashwatthama smirked. "That's why they send in specialists. If an unstable gate collapses, they're trained to handle it."

Bhima stretched. "Well, that's their job. Ours is done. Time to head back."

The group made their way toward the Hunter's Guild branch in New Delhi. Along the way, Karna's mind drifted to the Naga Echo he had absorbed. His Sun Mark pulsed slightly, reminding him that it was still dormant.

"I need to figure out how to unlock this power properly," he thought. "If I can gain a transformation like Specter Knight and Guardian, my combat versatility will increase significantly."

As they reached the Guild, a familiar voice called out.

"Well, if it isn't the famous Silver Flames crew. How was the hunt?"

Karna turned to see Rajat, leaning casually against the entrance, arms crossed, a smirk on his face. Beside him was Aarav, adjusting his glasses as he looked at Karna with mild curiosity.

Karna sighed. "The usual. Cleared a dungeon, got some loot, and now we're here."

Aarav nodded. "Good. Because you might want to rest while you can. Things in the Hunter's world are about to get interesting."

Karna raised an eyebrow. "What do you mean?"

Rajat chuckled. "Let's just say… some big players are making their moves soon. And you guys? You're right in the middle of it."

Ashwathama just spoke as he sighed. "I am just happy this year is already ending".

Few minutes later, Sita was angraly screaming at receptionist as Rama was holding her back. "What do you mean, of course this Tridents will cost more too sell".

The receptionist, a young woman with glasses and a nervous smile, tried to explain calmly. "Ma'am, I understand, but the market price for dungeon weapons fluctuates. Right now, tridents and bidents from aquatic-type dungeons are being sold in bulk, which lowers their value."

Sita gritted her teeth. "That's ridiculous! This isn't just any trident—it came from a High B-rank to Low A-rank Naga boss! The craftsmanship alone should be worth more!"

Rama, still holding her back, sighed. "Sita, let's not make a scene. We can always negotiate or find a private buyer."

Karna, watching the situation unfold, smirked slightly. He could understand Sita's frustration—items from higher-rank monsters were usually worth a lot. But if too many were flooding the market, their prices would drop.

Bhima crossed his arms. "She has a point. If you check the durability and magical conductivity of these weapons, they should be priced higher than standard loot."

Ashwatthama rubbed his temples. "Look, arguing won't change their policies. Either we take the deal, haggle with someone else, or keep them for ourselves."

The receptionist, still nervous, quickly nodded. "If you want, I can recommend a few merchants who might offer a better price. Or you could auction them through the Hunter's Guild."

Karna thought for a moment before speaking. "Let's check out the auction option. If the market is oversaturated, selling to individual collectors or high-end buyers might be smarter."

Sita huffed, crossing her arms. "Fine. But I'm not happy about it."

The group eventually left the counter, Sita still grumbling under her breath as they moved to handle the next steps.

Karna looked at the group as he looked at his and then the was room. "You guys go to the auction room, I will follow you".

The group noded as they followed the receptionist, as Karan went to try washroom, as went too a stall, he looked at arm as he spoke in his mind. "Where exactly did I put the Naga Core".

[You put in your inventory]

Karna just Blinked as he spoke. "I have an inventory".

[Yes, am infinite storage space]

Karna just spoke again as he looked at the sun mark in his hand. "You really are more like a system".

[I AM NOT A FUCKING SYSTEN!]

Karna had to close his ears, he swear he can hear the entity living inside of scream in his mind. "Do you have too all at me".

[I am the embodiment of the Sun, Fire, Light and Gravity it self, I am not a fucking System like in does Novels]

Karna just stopped and spoke. "Wait how do you know that".

[...]

Karna narrowed his eyes as he leaned against the stall door. "You're awfully quiet now. So? How do you know about systems from novels?"

The entity remained silent for a few seconds before finally responding.

[Because I have seen them through your memories.]

Karna raised an eyebrow. "Right… but that doesn't explain how you recognize them so well. You don't just know about them—you hate being compared to one. That's pretty specific."

Another pause. Then, the entity finally answered.

[Because unlike those fake constructs, I am a true divine force. I was never created—I am.]

Karna hummed, rubbing his chin. "So you have encountered something similar before, huh?"

The sun mark on his hand glowed faintly, but the entity refused to respond further. Karna smirked, deciding not to push too much for now. "Alright, alright, I won't call you a system… for now."

[Good.]

Karna rolled his eyes and checked his inventory out of curiosity. Sure enough, there was the Naga Core, along with other loot he had collected without realizing it. "Huh. This is actually useful." He smirked. "System or not, I'm not complaining."

Ignoring the indignant energy radiating from the mark, Karna exited the stall and made his way toward the auction room, eager to see how much they could make from the dungeon loot.

Karna made his back too his group, as they were waiting for him, then the receptionist took them too a door, as she opened and took them too a room, as the in a chair was a man, he was wearing a black tiger like mask, with that of the letter B on it, we was wearing a black shirt and was giving of a business vibe.

The man looked as he spoke. "I see you 5 must be here for the auction of the Guild, so are you here to buy or sell".

Site then shows the Trident. "Sell this".

The mask man looked at trh Trident as he spoke. "A rare find, it will be nice to sell one then".

Bhima then looked at the man as he spoke what was on his mind. "So what is with the Mask and the Letter".

The mask man looked up as he chuckled as he then spoken. "Simple, we who work in the auction like to hide our indenity, I am know as B".

Ashwathama then spoke. "So is that like Rule".

B srugged as he spoke. "Not really, but we do it for our safety, don't want a Sault hunter too come after one of the people running this place because they didn't have enough money for that specific item they want, and they track us and then try and stabbed only to fail and fall down a flight of stares and stab them self in the neck".

Rama just blinked as he spoke. "That very specific".

B chuckled as he leaned back in his chair. "Experience is a harsh teacher."

Karna raised an eyebrow. "So… that actually happened?"

B nodded. "Oh yeah. Some desperate hunter wanted an artifact but didn't have enough to buy it. When he realized we wouldn't budge, he went nuts. Followed one of our people home, tried to attack them, slipped on the stairs, and—well, let's just say he learned why we wear these masks."

Sita crossed her arms. "Sounds like an excuse to hide shady dealings if you ask me."

B simply smirked. "Believe what you will. Now, let's talk business." He gestured at the trident. "A Naga's Trident. Water-attributed, imbued with minor self-repair properties, and likely carrying a residual magic signature. That's going to fetch a good price. Any other items?"

Karna thought about the Naga Core in his inventory. He hesitated for a moment, then shook his head. Better keep that one for myself.

Bhima grinned. "Nah, just this for now."

B nodded and tapped on his tablet. "Alright. We'll start the auction in a few minutes. Standard cut applies—10% to us, the rest to you. If it sells, you get the money within 24 hours. Deal?"

Ashwatthama stretched his arms. "Fine by me."

Sita leaned forward. "And if it doesn't sell?"

B shrugged. "Then you can take it back or try again next time."

Rama sighed. "Alright, let's get this over with."

B finalized the paperwork and gestured toward the door. "You're free to attend the auction, or you can leave and wait for the results. Your call."

Karna glanced at his team. "Might as well stay and see how this plays out."

With that, the group prepared to witness their first major auction.
