Chapter 96: Chapter 95
Haruka walked through the grand entryway of the Kojima mansion, his conversation with Kara still fresh in his mind. As he closed the door behind him, his mother, Hana, emerged from the living room, a warm smile gracing her features.
"Haruka, dear, you're back," she said, her eyes gleaming with curiosity. "How did your... date with Kara go?"
Haruka felt a slight flush creep up his cheeks as he shook his head. "It wasn't a date, Mom. We were just catching up, that's all."
Hana's smile widened, and she placed a gentle hand on his arm. "Well, that's good to hear. I'm glad you two had a nice time." She paused, her expression softening. "You know, you should bring Kara over sometime. I'd love to meet her properly."
Haruka nodded, the corners of his lips turning upward. "I'll keep that in mind," he replied, his voice warm with affection. As he made his way upstairs, Hana watched him go, her heart filled with a mother's hope for her son's happiness.
Haruka entered his room and sat on his bed, the soft mattress cushioning him. Suddenly, Ada's screen flickered to life, casting a blue glow across the room.
[Host, I have completed my latest update, There are several new features I believe you will find most useful.]
Haruka leaned forward, intrigued by Ada's announcement. "New features, huh? Show me what you've got."
[Certainly, Host.] Ada's screen flickered, and a series of menus appeared. [I have added several new functions to assist you on your missions. First, I can now provide you with daily, weekly, and monthly objectives to complete. These will reward you with points or gacha draws upon successful completion.]
Haruka nodded, his brow furrowing in thought. "That could be useful. What else?"
[I have also implemented a new points system,] Ada continued. [Instead of solely relying on missions, you can now earn points by defeating criminals and enemies. The stronger the foe, the more points you will obtain.]
Ada continued, [Additionally, a reputation system has been implemented. As you interact with people and groups, your reputation with them will grow. Once you reach certain thresholds of reputation, you will be rewarded with points that can be used to unlock new abilities or equipment.]
Haruka listened intently, processing the new information. "That's interesting. How does the reputation system work exactly?"
[The system will track your actions and interactions,] Ada explained. [Positive actions, such as assisting or protecting individuals, will increase your reputation. Negative actions, like harming innocents, will decrease it. The higher your reputation, the greater the rewards.]
Haruka nodded, contemplating the implications.
Haruka nodded, contemplating the implications. "That's good to know. Have I gained anything from defeating my previous enemies?"
Ada's screen dimmed slightly. [I'm afraid you did not receive any points from those battles, Host. However, your reputation with certain groups has increased, which has earned you some rewards.]
Haruka leaned in, his interest piqued. "Reputation rewards, huh? What have I unlocked?"
[Let me see...] Ada's interface displayed a series of icons and started listing the rewards Haruka got from his reputation.
[National City Hero I - 500
Atlantis Ally - 10,000
Green Arrow Ally - 500
Shazam Family friend - 1000
Justice League attention - 100
Lex Luthor's attention - 100
Amanda Waller's attention - 100]
Haruka received 12,300 points from the reputation rewards Ada displayed. He leaned back, processing the information. It was not surprising that the Justice League had taken notice of him - his actions as Kamen Rider had likely caught their attention. However, seeing the names of Lex Luthor and Amanda Waller made him uneasy.
Those two were dangerous individuals, not because of their physical prowess, but due to their immense wealth, connections, and intellect. Haruka knew he was not ready to tangle with the likes of them just yet. He needed to be cautious and prepare himself in case they decided to make a move against him.
Haruka remembered he had four gacha draws remaining. With a deep breath, he decided to use one of them, curious to see what new abilities or equipment the system would provide.
The familiar roulette animation appeared on Ada's screen, the symbols and icons whirring past in a dizzying display. Haruka watched intently, his heart pounding in anticipation. After a few tense moments, the roulette slowed to a stop, and Ada's voice chimed in.
[Congratulations, Host. You have received the Stronger Cyber Enhancements.]
Haruka felt a strange tingling sensation spread throughout his body. Electricity crackled along his skin, and he could sense the flow of electric signals all around him. Focusing his attention, he found he could partially manipulate and even hack into nearby electronic devices.
As the changes settled, Haruka flexed his fingers, marveling at the newfound power coursing through him. He could feel his muscles growing denser, his reflexes sharpening, and an overwhelming sense of strength that he had never experienced before.
[The Stronger Cyber Enhancements have significantly augmented your physical abilities,] Ada explained. [You now possess the capacity to generate and manipulate electricity, as well as the ability to interface with electronic systems.]
Haruka stared at his hands, electricity crackling between his fingers. Curious, he focused his attention on a nearby lamp, feeling the flow of electric signals coursing through the device. With a slight mental nudge, the lamp flickered and dimmed, responding to his will.
Encouraged, Haruka directed his new-found power towards the laptop on his desk, easily bypassing its security measures. The screen flashed with lines of code as he manipulated the device, marveling at the ease with which he could interface with electronic systems.
(A/N: Just to clarify, the cyber enhancements added to Haruka are organic. This also happened to Ichigio's physique, which he had gotten before. He basically got the organic version of Ichigio's physique Stronger's Enhancements)
Haruka then asked Ada to use the 2nd gacha draw. The familiar roulette played on Ada's screen, the symbols and icons whirring past in a dizzying display. Haruka watched intently, his heart pounding in anticipation. After a few tense moments, the roulette slowed to a stop, and Ada's voice chimed in.
[Congratulations, Host. You have received the blueprints for Satellite Zea.]
Haruka furrowed his brow, confusion evident on his face. "Satellite Zea? I was expecting something more... tangible. How is this going to help me?"
[The Satellite Zea is a highly advanced orbital defense system,] Ada explained. [While you do not currently possess the means to construct it, the blueprints will provide you with invaluable technical data and schematics that could prove useful in the future.]
Haruka sighed, running a hand through his hair. Zea was undoubtedly a powerful asset, but without the ability to actually build it, the blueprints felt like a missed opportunity. Still, he knew better than to dismiss Ada's gifts lightly.
Ada's screen flickered as she spoke, her tone reassuring.
[Host, while the blueprints for Satellite Zea may not seem immediately useful, they are an integral part of the Kamen Rider Zero-One system. Zea is a crucial component that will allow you to access and utilize Zero-One's full capabilities in the future.]
Haruka furrowed his brow, still uncertain. "But how am I supposed to use something I can't even build?"
[The blueprints contain invaluable technical data and schematics,] Ada explained. [This information will be essential when the time comes to unlock Zero-One's power. Without Zea, you will be unable to fully integrate that Rider system into your arsenal.]
Haruka considered Ada's words, slowly nodding in understanding. "I see. So even if I can't construct it now, the blueprints will be crucial later on."
[Precisely, Host.] Ada's voice held a note of reassurance. [While the immediate benefits may not be apparent, I can assure you that Satellite Zea will prove indispensable in the battles to come.]
Haruka let out a resigned sigh, his shoulders relaxing slightly. "Alright, I'll hold onto the blueprints then. Hopefully, I'll be able to put them to use someday."
[I have the utmost confidence in you, Host,] Ada replied. [Now, shall we move on to your next gacha draw?]
Haruka nodded, his expression turning thoughtful as he prepared to spin the roulette once more.
