kaiju abyss

I stood right outside the kaiju exterminator's main building. It was massive, about 1 kilometer wide. It looked like a massive white block. I walked through the front door and got greeted by the chilly atmosphere, why was it so cold in here? Anyway, I walked up to the front desk where a lady standing at six feet tall with glasses sat.

"Welcome to the kaiju exterminator's HQ! what's the purpose behind your visit?"

"I'm looking to join as a kaiju exterminator"

The lady looked me up and down before raising an eyebrow. Soon enough she slid me a stack of papers

"Read through them alright?"

Kaiju exterminators. It was a dangerous job obviously. Korea had about 700 thousand exterminator's. They pay was somewhat alright for risking your life, I'd make 253,500,000.00 won every year (177,450.00 US dollars) which was fairly nice. But then again I'm risking getting eaten alive which is less than desirable.

They had a special room for me to sign and read all this papers so I got to work.

I stood on a line with a bunch of people facing the instructors

"This year's candidates are looking somewhat promising"

He said as he quickly took us all In. Kaiju exterminators had a age limit, 18-36 was the age limit. There were 200 other candidates and only 27 of them were above 30.

First came the strength test and I came out at 36th place. Then the condition test where I came out at 40th place. There was also a swimming test where I came out at 67th.

"Damnit i can't even swim!"

Some guy next to me shouted in rage before he got quickly taken away. By the end 139 participants were left. It was time for lunch. I went into the cold and sterile cafeteria which gave me the creeps. I glazed over the menu and everything was relatively normal. There were three levels when it came to kaiju, level 1, level 2 and level 3. Level one were the weakest while level three were the strongest. Level one kaijus were also used to make the suits and... dishes. Yes kaiju were also used as a food source. Kaiju meatballs, kaiju steak and anything else you can think off. My personal favourite was the kaiju patties.

"Hey can I sit next to you?"

I looked behind me and saw some black haired guy staring at me

"My name is Ha-joon. It's great to meet you"

We shaked hands before sitting down together. Ha-joon looked like a generally nice guy with his wide smile and his glinting blue eyes.

"You have a pretty thin waist"

Ha-joon remark made me blush. Don't be so blunt

"That came out of nowhere!"

I said and shaked my head. My waist was pretty thin though

"So why did you join the Ha-joon-hyung?"

"Hey we are the same age no need for the hyung"

I shaked my head. Did I even say it correctly? I feel like I've forgotten everything I learned in the past two days. I dug into the burger I was eating while Ha-joon ate some ribs. After the 30 minute break the final and real test started. We were about to get our suits and see how compatible we were. On our way to the pulse room(the room where the test takes place) we came across the medical squad. The actual name for the suits was Chimera Skin. It was usually a black color but the med teams Chimera Skin was white with a black cross on the back. They sure looked cool as hell.

"Here we are"

Ha-joon said as he stared up at the door. We both walked inside where a few people were already waiting. After everyone arrived the test began. I put on the tight body suit which felt like a second skin. The Chimera Skin had some nice features like a heating system and shield.

"Feels... strange"

I said as I clench my fists. Then suddenly video began playing on the screen. There was a whole orchestra playing in the background of the video

"213 years ago, the year is 1923. The year that the first Chimera Skin suit was developed in the capital of China. The project was named the Rén Shòu Jì Huà or in other words the Human-Beast Project. During 1923 China was under attack by a level three kaiju threat"

Level three huh? Level one kaijus were between 1-3 fortitude while level 2 were between 4-7 and level three were between 8-10... the kaiju he was talking about was fortitude 9.8 and destroyed most of China's coastline leaving a giant hole which was replaced by a flying city. For example the entirety of the Netherlands was destroyed and completely underwater so that entire country is a flying city.

Snore... shit I had fallen asleep. I couldn't help it with how relaxing that Old man's voice sounded. When I woke up there were wires and cables stuck onto my suit

thanks to the loud mechanical voice I was awoken. I let out a sigh of relief

"Yes! If I got anything below 50% I would get sent back home"

I glanced at the screen infront if me displaying my vitals

"I don't want anyone to lose their loved ones... not the way I lost my sister. I NEED to protect them"

The screen then displayed other things about me
