Kai Lane: Beginning

Tank smiled bitterly as he walked toward him. He was in incredible danger, too. His armor was almost completely shattered. If the red-haired boy attacked again, he wouldn't be able to escape.

But this couldn't continue forever. Like hot oil, Tank grew stronger and stronger over time.

As time went by, Emma began to be pushed back. Her clothes slowly ripped, and bloody wounds opened up. Emma gritted her teeth.

It grew to Fury's size and developed layers. Black hair flowed from the back of its head. A large cross was visible on its chest. This time was different. Not only its appearance had changed, but its aura had too.

As the clouds gathered in the sky, Fury, clad in his New Legion armor, looked up. Though his face was hidden by the armor, his eyes held a deep, murderous intent.

"The heavens are coming for me. They want to destroy me for advancing with the Legion Armor before I even reached Step 2."

At that moment, the Fury in the new armor lowered his head and looked Tank in the eye. Tank felt his organs approach the brink of failure with that look. This Fury in white was completely different from before.

'Not good!'

Fury lowered his head and looked at his hand. The moment he clenched his fist, the earth beneath him shattered.

"Still, this brief moment is enough for me to kill him!"

As Fury charged at Tank, Tank rushed into the gap between the developers. Their speed was incredible. The difference between them was incredible as well. The clouds in the sky had gathered completely.

White sparks appeared.

Fury's arm had pierced Tank's chest. Tank's arm penetrated Clara's.

He looked at his hand one last time. He smiled and closed his eyes.

'I told them we shouldn't have come here.'

His hand slipped from her chest, and he slid from Fury's arms and fell to the ground. He was dead.

"C-Clara..."

Quentin suddenly appeared in front of her and caught her before she could fall. She was spitting blood nonstop. Quentin's eyes changed as he looked at her. He knew. When they went into this war, he knew some people would die. But knowing and seeing were completely different.

"I didn't expect this to happen."

Clara spat out more blood and leaned her head on Quentin's shoulder. They knelt together. She was unable to stand.

At that moment, Elena appeared. Tears welled up in her eyes, and she immediately hugged Clara. Her tears fell to the ground.

Emma had also appeared and slipped under Fury's arm. They both looked at Clara sadly.

"I found a needle... A friend gave it to me. Elena... Take it."

Clara struggled to speak and gestured toward herself. Elena pulled a needle from her pocket. It was the same one Alan and Alain had. This needle, however, had already taken a blood sample.

As Elena stared blankly at the needle, Clara smiled and nodded. When her eyes met Quentin's, he understood her meaning.

'Put me down.'

Clara looked up at the sky. The war had flared up again, but she no longer had a place in it. She remembered the moment Tank had targeted her.

"I'm glad I'm so valuable."

Those were Clara's last words.

Elena and Quentin gazed at Clara with grief as both sides were completely distraught by the Generals' murder. Elena clenched her fist and plunged the needle directly into her chest. Tears streamed from her eyes, a manifestation of anger and bloodlust.

A whistling sound echoed through the entire battlefield as the battle reached a point of no return.
