Chapter 43: Rainbow Reptile vs Young Lady & Maid (1)
The Rainbow Reptile's body glowed with deadly ice energy, frost forming on its armored scales as it prepared to strike. Both women moved at the same time, reaching for their weapons from Storage rings.
Naviga grabbed her blade, Black Death, in one smooth motion. Minerva did the same, pulling out Scorching Tyrant.
The reptile's eyes tracked both weapons, its body tensing. Without warning, it lunged forward, ice shards flying behind it.
Naviga moved like water, sliding sideways with her Phantom Moon Step. Her feet barely touched the icy ground as she prepared her counterattack. Lunar Serenity Breathing kept her calm despite the rush of battle.
Minerva used her Blazing Step to move in short bursts, leaving melted ice and rising steam behind as she flanked the creature from the other side.
The reptile spun, swinging its tail at Naviga. She raised her Moonlit Shield, and a silver barrier appeared just in time to block the blow. The impact shook her arms, but she held her ground.
"Eclipse Slash!" Naviga shouted.
Black Death swung in a crescent, shadows bending around the blade. Light and darkness combined in her strike, making it almost impossible to see. The reptile barely twisted away, taking a shallow cut across its armored skin.
Minerva seized the opening immediately. "Blazing Sun Slash!"
Scorching Tyrant erupted with brilliant flame as she brought it down in a devastating overhead strike. The technique concentrated all of her fire essence into a single, sun-bright attack that turned the surrounding air shimmering hot. The reptile rolled desperately to the side, but the intense heat singed its scales, causing it to hiss in pain and anger.
The creature's response was swift and dangerous. Ice spikes erupted from the ground where both women stood, forcing them to leap and dodge with their respective footwork techniques. Naviga's Phantom Moon Step carried her through the air like a drifting shadow, while Minerva's Blazing Step left her moving in quick, fiery dashes that melted the ice attacks before they could fully form.
The reptile's camouflage ability activated, its body shifting colors to match the swirling ice and steam around them. It became nearly invisible, just a faint shimmer in the chaotic environment.
"I cannot see it clearly!" Minerva called out, her red eyes scanning the creature.
Naviga closed her eyes briefly, relying on her enhanced senses and the chip's scanning ability. "Three meters to your left miss, moving toward the river!"
Both women struck simultaneously. Naviga's Lunar Edge Sword Arts guided Black Death in a series of flowing strikes that covered multiple angles, while Minerva unleashed her Flame Vortex Slash, creating a spinning tornado of fire that lit up the entire chamber.
The reptile materialized suddenly as it dodged between their attacks, its form flickering between blue ice and transparent camouflage. It was clearly powerful, but the combined assault from both skilled fighters was beginning to wear down its defenses.
The Rainbow Reptile growled, ice crystals forming around its mouth as it prepared another attack. Its powerful legs coiled like springs before launching it directly at Naviga with tremendous force.
Naviga pivoted smoothly, her Phantom Moon Step carrying her backward in a graceful slide. Black Death came up in a defensive position as she activated her Eclipse Slash technique once more. The dark blade carved through the air, leaving trails of shadow and silver light that confused the reptile's vision.
The creature twisted mid-air, avoiding the worst of the strike, but Naviga's follow-up came immediately. Her Lunar Edge Sword Arts flowed like water, each cut precise and deadly. Black Death moved in perfect circles and crescents, the blade singing through the cold air.
Minerva flanked from the right, her Scorching Tyrant blazing with contained fire. "Infernal Burst Slash!" she shouted, bringing her sword down in a massive overhead strike.
The technique exploded outward on impact, sending waves of superheated air in all directions. The reptile's ice armor began to crack and steam, forcing it to retreat toward the flowing river.
The creature wasn't done yet. It opened its mouth and shot out sharp ice shards that flew fast and could kill. The shards filled the air like a deadly storm.
Naviga immediately shifted to her Moonlit Shield Defensive Art. Silver barriers of light materialized around her, deflecting the ice shards with ringing sounds like breaking glass. The impacts sent vibrations through her arms.
Minerva took a different approach. Her Phoenix Guard Defensive Art activated, creating a whirling vortex of flames around her body. The ice shards melted before they could reach her, turning to harmless steam that obscured her movement.
The reptile's eyes glowed with cold intelligence as it realized its ranged attack had failed. It charged forward again, this time keeping low to the ground to avoid their sword strikes.
"It's learning our patterns," Minerva called out, sweat beading on her forehead despite the cold.
Naviga nodded grimly. She took a deep breath, centering herself with her Lunar Serenity Breathing technique. Her movements became even more fluid and unpredictable as she engaged the creature directly.
Black Death met the reptile's claws in a shower of sparks. The creature's natural weapons were harder than steel, but her sword was sharper and powerful.
The reptile snapped its jaws at her face, but she ducked smoothly under the attack. Her return strike carved a thin line across its snout, drawing a few drops of crystalline blue blood.
Minerva moved in from behind, her Blazing Step Footwork carrying her forward in explosive bursts. "Blazing Phoenix Reversal!" she shouted, spinning her blade in a complex pattern that created a wall of spinning flames.
The technique caught the reptile off guard. It tried to dodge backward but ran straight into Naviga's waiting blade. Black Death pierced through a gap in its armor, sliding between two scales to draw more blood.
The creature roared in pain and fury. Its body began to glow brighter, ice energy building up inside its core like a gathering storm.
"It's preparing something big," Naviga warned, pulling back several steps.
The reptile's entire form expanded slightly as it channeled more power. Ice began forming on the ground around its feet, spreading outward in crystalline patterns that crackled with dangerous energy.
Both women readied their strongest defenses, aware that the creature's next attack would be powerful. The air grew cold as the Rainbow Reptile braced for a huge strike.
The Rainbow Reptile's body glowed with bright ice energy. Frost quickly covered the floor, making it slippery . Its scales turned white as it got ready to launch its strongest attack.
""Move!" Naviga shouted, sliding sideways with her Phantom Moon Step just as the reptile fired a massive ice beam.
The beam was as thick as a tree and moved incredibly fast. It hit the wall where Naviga had been, freezing the rock instantly. Cracks spread out like a spider's web.
Minerva dodged the other way, her Blazing Step leaving trails of fire on the icy floor. She spun and counterattacked immediately. "Blazing Sun Slash!"
Her sword shone brightly as she swung at the creature's back, but the reptile was faster. It spun and caught her blade in its claws, sparks flying as metal hit natural weapon.
The impact sent Minerva sliding across the ice. She stayed on her feet, breathing hard from the fight.
Seeing her chance, Naviga struck. While the reptile focused on Minerva, she used Eclipse Slash. Black Death cut in a perfect arc, mixing shadow and moonlight into a powerful strike.
The blade hit the creature's side, cutting deep through its armor. Blue blood sprayed onto the ice as it roared in pain. But instead of falling, it grew even more dangerous.
Its wounds glowed with cold light, and ice quickly sealed them shut like natural bandages. Its healing was stronger than either woman had expected.
"It can heal itself," Minerva said grimly, wiping sweat from her brow. "We need to finish this fast."
The reptile's eyes locked on her. It opened its mouth, but instead of a beam, a cloud of freezing mist poured out, filling half the chamber with deadly cold.
Minerva's fire clashed with the mist. She had to step back, her Scorching Tyrant blazing as she protected herself from the unnatural cold.
Naviga moved silently through the mist. Lunar Serenity Breathing kept her calm, and her enhanced senses guided her to the hidden creature. Its camouflage was perfect, but she felt its presence through the chip's scanning ability.
Black Death struck, hitting something solid. The reptile hissed in pain, confirming her target.
It burst from the mist, ice covering its body like armor, and charged at Naviga with claws ready to tear her apart.
Naviga raised her Moonlit Shield. Silver barriers formed, but the reptile's strength cracked them. She rolled back, using footwork to stay ahead of its attacks.
Minerva stepped from the fading mist, eyes blazing. "Flame Vortex Slash!"
Her sword spun in tight circles, creating a fire tornado that pulled air toward it. The flames hit the reptile from behind, licking at its icy armor.
The creature stumbled, steam rising as ice and fire clashed. It was weakening but refused to give up.
Naviga and Minerva moved in sync, striking from opposite sides with Black Death and Scorching Tyrant, forcing the reptile to defend against both attacks at once.
The creature blocked Naviga's strike with its left claw and tried to bite Minerva's sword. But the combined attacks were too much. Cracks appeared in its armored skins.
