Jujutsu kaisen : Mystic Eyes of Death Perception

Chapter 2: Curse

"Again, Ryougi-san!?" the doctor exclaimed, his voice tinged with frustration and concern. "If I hadn't paid attention to you for just a moment, you could have been blind for the rest of your life."

Shiki just shrugged her shoulder.

The man sighed "Ryougi-san... please don't do something stupid like gouging your eyes out." The doctor's voice carried a tone of exasperation as he addressed Shiki.

"You just woke up after 3 years in a coma," the doctor reasoned. "Just give it a little more time, the lines will probably dissapears on their own"

"..."

That's right.

I was in a coma.

For three whole years.

============

The first time I'm awake, all I could see was "Lines"

Line in every person; in every wall; even in the very air itself, all of them across everything I could see.

It was a world filled with "Lines"

It was sickening, nauseating, repulsive. At first, the doctor said to tried and ignore the lines, dismissing them as mere tricks of the mind—the aftereffect of my coma. But as more time passed, their presence became unbearable. Not in the sense of physical pain or mental exhaustion, but rather a sense of unease that gnawed at my very spirit.

I attempted to stab out my own eyes, but unfortunately, one of the nurses caught me and successfully intervened. I ended up injuring my left eye, though not enough to blind me, but severe enough to impair my vision for several weeks. The doctor and nurses promptly bandaged my injured eye.

With my impaired vision, I hoped to at least reduce the lines I saw, but it was useless. Even with my left eye bandaged, I could still clearly perceive the lines. I even asked the doctor to bandage my other eye and leave me in complete darkness, but for some reason, I could still perceive the lines. It didn't make any sense.

Then a thought occurred to me; what if I just gouged out my own eyes? It's a stupid and ridiculous idea. If someone heard my thoughts, they would probably think I'm crazy. But I don't care; as long as I can unsee these Lines, being blind would probably be better.

But it was another failure.

The doctor passed by my ward after treating another patient and witnessed the moment I was trying to gouge my eyes out.

I don't blame him for worrying about me; after all, he's a doctor, and it's only natural for him to want to prevent any harm to his patient. It was simply coincidental that he passed by when I attempted to gouge out my own eyes. But these "Lines" would probably never dissapears.

============

While the doctor was bandaging my eyes after my failed attempt to gouge it, I'm beginning to see something other than line.

Is it a Ghost? Devil? Spirit? I don't know what that is but the shape was familiar.

After floating around in that void for God knows how long, all of my memories are becoming blurry. I know I have parents, but I can't remember anything about them—face, hair color, or eye color. I can't remember anything, not even what happened to them. But there is one thing that's clear in my mind.

I remember every single detail about that man—his face, his smile, his hair, his eye color.

That thing was sticking its hands and feet out as if it were hugging the nurses while groping her entire body with a perverted smile plastered on its face. It was disgusting.

That thing entire body was also filled with the same crimson lines, all the lines were overlap and intersect with each other.

After bandaging my injured eyes, the doctor and nurse were leaving. The room became quiet after he left, my ears was hurting from his babbling.

All that was left was me and the crimson lines across the room. Using my index finger, I approached the red line on the table. I pressed my finger into it; it felt like putting my finger into melted butter, it slips right thorugh. I traced the line on the table, encountering no resistance at all. From one end to the other, I traced the line, and before I knew it, the table split into two.

Looking at it, I was amazed. It was cleanly split into two, like the table had been cut using a machine.

I looked at my index finger, and it was not pretty. "Sigh, the doctor will scold me again."

============

It was a quite night. Shiki is up from the bed and went into the window. Tonight was a full moon.

Shiki quietly observed the outside world. It was the same with this room, the ground, the bench, the trees, lamp, even the air was filled with lines.

At this point shiki already gave up. She would just make compromise with the lines instead of trying to blind herself again.

As Shiki quietly observed the outdoors, a shiver suddenly ran down her spine, a feeling that something was amiss creeping over her. Slowly, she turned around, her gaze falling upon something quite extraordinary.

There, towering over her, was a massive creature resembling an orc. Its body was a deep shade of green, muscles rippling beneath its thick hide. Its left hand, disproportionately large and shaped like a hammer.

Before she could react, the creature raised its hammer hand with startling speed and brought it crashing down towards Shiki. The force of the blow sent her hurtling through the air and crashing through the window.

Shiki was sent flying through the air as the creature struck her, launching her out of the hospital's third-floor window. As the ground rushed up to meet her, Shiki's mind was consumed by one singular thought—survival.

Shiki skillfully regained control of her body midair, she adjusted her posture and angle of descent and focused all her concentration on landing safely on the ground.

The creature followed her outside not taking her eyes off of Shiki, she could feel the creature's eyes boring into her. The creature charged towards her like a raging bull, its brute strength evident. It was clear that she couldn't hope to match its power, so her only option was to evade.

"Shit," Shiki muttered, gritting her teeth.

She glanced down at her ankle and noticed it was bruised. The landing earlier hadn't been perfect, and she had sprained her foot. She hadn't felt the pain initially due to the adrenaline, but now it was starting to register in her brain.

The creature punched her right in the rib cage, sending her flying into the nearby trees. It should have been a fatal blow, but she miraculously survived. At most, it would probably result broken rib cage and a little internal bleeding. In moments like this, she was grateful for her abnormal body.

Without pausing, the creature immadiately change its direction, giving Shiki no room to breathe It arrived in front of her, but instead of attacking, it gripped right onto Shiki's body.

From Shiki's mouth, a single, straight line of fresh blood runs from mouth to chin.

"What a disgusting smile," Shiki remarked as she looked at the creature, whose face was contorting into a grotesque grin. It reminded her of something unpleasant—the only thing she remembered from the past.

The creature hurled Shiki with all its strength. She soared through the air like a ragdoll, hurtling towards the building at alarming speed.

Thud

Shiki collided with the hospital wall, the impact sending shockwaves of pain coursing through her body. Her already broken ribs crumpled beneath the force, fracturing with a sickening crunch, she felt a searing agony as sharp shards of bone punctured her flesh.

"Fuck! That damn monster is toying with me," Shiki growled through gritted teeth, frustration evident in her voice.

Summoning every ounce of strength she could muster, Shiki dragged herself to her feet.

Her gaze fell upon a nearby tray of scalpels, she reached it out and quickly picked it up.

Her eyes fell upon the creature once more, just like everything else she saw, its body was also adorned with lines.

"If I want to survive, I have to kill it," Shiki murmured to herself.

Shiki looked down at her own broken finger

'With just my finger I can split that table in half, then with just this scalpel, I can kill that monster.' she thought.

Shiki stepped forward, her grip tightening on the scalpel in her hand. Her mind went blank, focusing on only one thing—killing that monster.

Focusing all her strength onto her feet, shiki rushed forward ignoring the pain in her body.

The creature raised its arm, trying to attack Shiki as she ran towards him. When she was within range, the creature swung its arm with all its might. But Shiki ducked to avoid its attack, focusing on striking at the creature's legs. The "lines" were clearly visible on its limbs.

With one swift swing, Shiki managed to sever both of the creature's legs. Without giving it time to recover, she kicked the creature in the back, sending it toppling to the ground.

Shiki could see clearly all the lines in its body.

Head to neck, right shoulder to left hip, across its chest, along its right arm. Shiki cut all of those lines.

In an instant, Shiki cut, sliced, and severed the creature into several pieces.

The creature was slowly crumbling into dust.

Shiki utterly and absolutely ended its life.

============

Watching the creature slowly turned into dust, Shiki felt weak and slumped to the ground. The adrenaline she had felt when her life was threatened had worn off and she was finally unable to move. Shiki realized the two people watching her were slowly moving towards her.

"Hey girl, that was impressive." The man with white hair speaks first.

"Killing a first-grade curse without using any curse energy, how did you do it?" he asked, his tone playful, yet genuinely curious.

'Curse?'

"Gojo-sensei! it's not the time for that!" the young man interjected; his expression filled with concern as he glanced at Shiki's condition.

"Sorry sorry, say..." The man called Gojo was intenstly looking at shiki. Even with the blindfolded, shiki can feel the preassure.

"Wanna become a sorcerer?" The preassure instantly vanished replaced with a stupid smile on his face.
