Chapter 45: Bloody Rampage II
He showed no mercy. He was heartless. The blade moved around like the scythe of the grim reaper, harvesting lives with each swing. Soon decapitated body parts began soaring in the air, as a blood mist blanketed the atmosphere along with screams of plea, yet the bloodied Sasuke was numb to the loud cries...
His blade moved with deadly precision, tearing through tendons and ligaments as if they were soft and fragile, ripping apart limbs heartlessly with a shred of sympathy or joy.
In less than a minute, only about 5 mercenaries stood alive, yet shaking in their boots and even pissing on themselves, while the bloodied grim reaper tore apart his last victim viciously, before lifting his head to them.
"Run!!"
They tried to escape, yet when they blinked, he was there in front of them. He walked step by step, dragging his bloodied blade behind him, leaving behind a long trail of gore as he walked towards them. At first glance, it looked like he was moving at a snail's pace, yet his every step covered a considerable distance, and in three blinks of an eye, he was before the first victim.
Despite shaking in her boots, the mercenary swung her blade towards his incoming figure, aiming to decapitate him, yet her vision was blinded by the bright lighting that exploded in her direction and before she could even react, a mighty pain assualted her senses and she looked down only to see a long lightning bathed arm sticking out of her abdomen, as her own blood pooled beneath her feet.
She involuntarily coughed out blood and held onto his arm, as if holding onto dear life, yet the malevolent glare in his eyes sent her soul straight to Hell.
One of her colleagues tried to take advantage of Sasuke's distracted moment to sneak up on him, with a sword slash, yet the moment the blade slashed into Sasuke, his body morphed into multiple crows and reappeared behind the assailant catching him off guard, before a swift array of slashes from the Kusanagi ripped him into shreds.
The other three tried attacking together, drawing their blades in a joint pincer attack, yet one swift glance from the Sharingan petrified all three, before an explosion of electricity ripped into their bodies tearing them apart from the insides.
"Fascinating! Incredibly Fascinating!"
The man with the robes who had unalived Mei clasped his hands in amazement, excitement and deep fascination before signaling to the elders of the Zen'in clan.
"Let's kick things up a notch then.."
With a signal from the clan head, all the fierce looking Zen'in warriors, well trained Jujutsu sorcerers began to rush out alongside the mercenaries and Jujutsu High students, surrounding him instantly, and leaving no room for escape.
At this point, Sasuke's figure was already so soaked in blood that he cut quite the scary figure from afar. Yet there he stood, head hung low, shoulders relaxed as if he was facing no immediate danger. His blade facing downward, and dripping blood; one man, one blade, against the world.
"Kill him!!"
It was unknown who had cried out to charge, or who had made the first move to attack. All that was needed was a moment and every single one of the attackers were rushing towards him with murderous intent.
Cursed energy exploded like shockwaves and destructive techniques ripped into the landscape, all targeting one person. Lifting his head towards the incoming attacks, Sasuke's Sharingan scanned through all the techniques, before he finally moved.
Wrapping himself in a thick sheath of purple lightning he flickered like an illusion, dodging more than one cursed technique in an instant. He reappeared within their midst, utilized his free left hand to perform a hand seal, brought it close to his lips and unleashed a massive meteor like fireball towards the enemies.
*BOOOOM!*
While the Jujutsu sorcerers amongst the attackers may have sensed his attack bubbling forth, the ordinary humans amongst their midst were clueless and were all nearly wiped out from that single attack.
Wasting no time, Sasuke descended into their midst once more with his blade cocked back and ready to harvest even more lives. Not even the sorcerers were safe from his onslaught. With his immense speed none of them could even hope to catch up to him or fend off his attacks.
*BOOOM!!*
It wasn't until he was knocked back by a massive explosion of sound waves from an elderly figure from the Zen'in clan did he halt his massacre. An attack that caught him completely offguard, as he had not even been able to sense when it had been unleashed. His body was hurled into the distance, crashing into multiple trees and rocks until he came to a stop after skidding for a few seconds.
"Get him!!"
The elder in question garnered and boosted everyone's morale, raising their hopes as they rushed towards him fearlessly, wanting to tear him apart.
Wiping the blood that leaked from the corner of his lips, Sasuke slowly took off the blood soaked Akatsuki robe he wore, revealing a brown no sleeved shirt, purple pants underneath a tied purple cloth and bandaged arms.
His expression, apathetic, as his Sharingan slowly revolved and under the stunned gazes of all the mercenaries rushing towards him valiantly and everyone else present, his body morphed into several crows that dispersed into the forest, shocking everyone for a moment.
"Spread yourselves out and find him! He couldn't have gotten far!"
Fugaku, Sasuke's own Father roared to the mercenaries and sorcerers drawing them out of their reverie as they nodded to him and headed out before he turned back to the elders and clan Head.
"The mountain range has been sealed off completely. No one gets in or out. He cannot escape."
The clan head turned towards the young man in the robes with the wound on his forehead and stated after seeing the confused expression on the man's face.
"I'm not worried whether he would escape the entrapment alive, or not clan head. I believe in your means, but the boy is a wildcard. I cannot begin to imagine the traps he has also set up within this mountain range.
I suggest we ourselves head out soon. Let the fodders wear him out a bit."
The man spoke with a seeming innocent smile on his face, yet everyone present could sense the deep hidden maliciousness within his eyes.
"Joben is right. It's not with mere luck that that vermin has been able to terrorize our clan for so long without being caught. He might have some tricks up his sleeve. Let's stay put for now.."
The clan head backed him up, and Fugaku nodded in agreement, yet Naobito took a swig from his wine jug and let out a laugh.
"All I see is a bunch of cowards who would rather send others to their death rather than themselves. If you want him dead, why waste time. Let's just do it ourselves."
Naobito ranted, yet the elders shook their heads, not bothering to listen to him. Not that he was wrong or anything.
Meanwhile...
Within the expansive forest, Sasuke landed atop the crown of one of the tallest trees within the whole mountain range and slowly took a seat on a branch, resting his back against the main trunk as he closed his eyes and took deep breaths.
Mei was really gone. The person dearest to him in this life. Their relationship, no matter how complicated was precious to him and despite how it looked, he cared about her, yet he had let her down, letting her die in such a manner.
He was going to pay for that. That man, the Zen'in clan, all the mercenaries who were in on this and even Jujutsu High. All of them were going to pay for this. Since they had sealed off all exit routes, then he was going to make sure that none of them was going to leave here alive, none of them, even at the cost of his own life.
He swore to himself, but his eyes slowly opened when a dark raven landed on his shoulder and snuggled against him. It looked completely ordinary, except, it's eyes bore the Sharingan, his Sharingan, and he felt a rather close kinship with it, even more than he felt with Aoda his first summon.
But before he could research even further, leaves rustled, as loud footsteps rushed into the area, rustling the leaves and flowers. Judging from the footsteps, it looks as though they belonged to about a dozen attackers.
'Four sorcerers, five mercenaries. 9 in total'.
Using his senses, he picked up the cursed energy signature of four sorcerers within the group as well as 5 ordinary humans who would classify as mercenaries, and took in a deep breath.
Picking up the small crow on his shoulder, he stroke it's head gently and then released it upwards, before summoning a kunai into his hand and multiple shurikens, waiting and bidding his time until it was the right opportunity to strike.
A/N: May 2025 be a prosperous New Year. Thank you all for the support. I honestly didn't think this book would reach 45 chapters, but here we are.
