Journey to the West: Treasure Vase of the Great Dao

Chapter 132: Mount Luojia

Bull Demon King had no choice but to withdraw, and even then, he was disheveled, looking quite embarrassed.

Gazing at the towering inferno, Bull Demon King, whose body was controlled by Patriarch of the Nether River, felt extremely depressed. With the current situation, he simply couldn't retrieve the Rules of Water and authority. If Jieyin himself came, it would surely draw the attention of Ksitigarbha and Buddhism, likely facing immediate interception. He could only retreat for now and think of another plan.

Even with the power of the Plantain Fan, it seemed that even if he used up all the mana in this body, he still wouldn't be able to extinguish the great fire.

Thus, Bull Demon King left the area with a heavy heart, but he wasn't worried because he knew Flame Mountain was an important juncture in the westward journey. With the arrival of Tang Monk and his disciples, they would have to cross this place, and the great powers of the heavens would naturally be able to extinguish the fire. The only concern was whether the rules might be exposed because of this.

This was also why he was anxious to take out the rules and authority ahead of time, but now he couldn't, and could only return in frustration.

The South Sea's Mount Luojia, the dojo of the compassionate Bodhisattva Guanyin, was planted with various exotic treasures, the most eye-catching of which was the Purple Bamboo Forest, resembling a purple ocean. Every morning when the sun rose, the purple bamboo under the sunlight would emit Spiritual Energy, filling the entire bamboo forest with Purple Qi, quite like the "Purple Qi coming from the east."

At this time, in the dense Purple Bamboo Forest, Little Black Bear was lying on a soft grass mat, fast asleep, with clear little bubbles coming from his nose, changing in size with his breathing.

Just then, a delicate hand suddenly reached out, poking the small bubble which burst with a pop sound. Little Black Bear quickly stood up, looked around, and said in his unique baby voice, "Who is it? Who dares to disturb the Great King's sleep?"

Little Black Bear had an imposing manner, but it was a pity that he still looked like a little black bear, lacking in deterrent power and instead adding a bit of cuteness.

"Xiao Hei, you're slacking off again, claiming to be the Mountain Guarding God. With that look, you wouldn't even know if an enemy crept in!" A little girl scolded, her waist akimbo, two crystal clear small dragon horns on her head making her look endearingly cute.

Little Black Bear rubbed his eyes and looked at the little girl, "Oh, it's Dragon Princess. What do you need me for?"

"Have you seen Red Child?" Dragon Princess asked.

"That smug guy? I haven't seen him, and why are you looking for him? He's so frosty, not at all likeable!" Little Black Bear complained.

"Bodhisattva said that you are older than Red Child, and you should take care of him," Dragon Princess brought Guanyin into the conversation.

"Hmph, I don't wanna. That guy is always putting on a cold face, like someone owes him money. My little den is comfy. Sleeping is much nicer than playing with him. You'd better let me sleep," Little Black Bear said impatiently, his body already leaning towards his grass mat.

Seeing this, Dragon Princess shook her head and muttered, "Forget it, if you won't come, I'll go look for him myself. Don't think about getting any delicious honey from me in the future!"

Little Black Bear instantly jumped up and said, "Dragon Princess, I was just kidding. You're right, you want to go find Red Child, right? I'll come with you. Do you want to ride me? I run fast!"

At this moment, Little Black Bear's face was full of flattering smiles, the entire bear reeking of sycophancy—if one didn't know better, they would definitely think he was a plump black dog.

Dragon Princess, seeing this, subtly lifted her chin. Little Black Bear was really easy to coax; just a bit of honey would make him jubilant, unlike Red Child, who couldn't be cheered up no matter how you tried.

Little Black Bear carried Dragon Princess off to another place to look for the missing Red Child, his milky voice lingering in the air, "Dragon Princess, next time can your brothers bring me more honey? There's really nothing on this island!"

"It's up to your performance, as long as you perform well, there will be no shortage of honey."

After the two had almost circled the entire island, they finally spotted Red Child on the western side of the island.

They saw the endearingly cute Red Child sitting on a large rock, his gaze fixed towards the west, sitting silently, his thoughts unknown.

"Red Child, why are you hiding here, making Dragon Princess search for you for so long, that's really too much, isn't it, Dragon Princess!" Little Black Bear, acting as a professional lackey, immediately began to scold.

Only then did Red Child turn his head, looked at the two who had followed, didn't say a word, and then turned his head back to watch the tumultuous sea.

Dragon Princess keenly sensed Red Child's emotions. She slowly walked over and sat beside him, her eyes gazing at the distant, majestic sea and asked, "Are you missing home?"

Red Child looked at Dragon Princess's concerned face, and a trace of softness finally appeared on his icy face as he nodded and said, "Yes!"

Dragon Princess, supporting her cheek with her hand, said, "It's nice that you still have a home, I don't have a home anymore."

"Why?" asked Red Child.

"My father died, he took his own life for the sake of our future. Looking back now, it has been many years since I last saw my father. When I was little, because I was the youngest and all my older siblings were brothers, my father loved me the most. Whatever I wanted, he would get it for me. Sometimes I wish this were all a dream, how wonderful it would be to wake up and find my father still alive, and all my brothers gathered together. But there's no going back." Dragon Princess said with a slight sigh.

As she spoke, Dragon Princess began to cry, and while crying, she said, "I miss my father so much, but unfortunately, I can't see him anymore!"

Determined by Dragon Princess' crying, Red Child was suddenly at a loss.

"Don't cry!" Having never comforted a girl before, Red Child, grown-up as he was, didn't know how to console her and could only stand helplessly beside her, continually urging her not to cry.

At that moment, Little Black Bear solemnly said, "You two can still find your parents, I don't even know who my parents are."

This statement made Dragon Princess instantly stop crying and, feeling embarrassed, she said to the two, "I'm sorry, I couldn't help it."

After speaking, she also patted Little Black Bear on the head and said, "Little Black, from now on, we are your family."

Little Black Bear immediately squinted his eyes in joy and excitedly said, "Then next time, I want double the honey!"

Dragon Princess was momentarily taken aback, feeling that she might have underestimated Little Black Bear's resilience, seeing how quickly he had recovered from that emotional state.

Seeing this, Red Child couldn't help but smile; the actions of Little Black Bear and Dragon Princess had dispersed his longing for his relatives, and he felt much better.
