Chapter 419: Class Division, Sasuke's Dissatisfaction
The next day, Haruno Sakura got up early as usual, practiced the Four Signs Seal, exercised her body with Naruto and the team Ino-Shika-Cho, had breakfast, and then headed to school.
After greeting the other classmates, Haruno Sakura and her friends took their seats.
Yamanaka Ino hoped aloud, "It would be great if I could be on the same team as Sakura, and Naruto is pretty handsome, too."
Seeing his friend daydreaming, Shikamaru Nara couldn't bear to interrupt, but eventually he couldn't help saying, "Stop dreaming, Ino-Shika-Cho is never going to be split up."
"Can't you just let me bask in my dream a bit longer?" Yamanaka Ino clenched her fist, wanting to give Shikamaru a good punch.
"Fine, I didn't say anything. You continue," Shikamaru yawned.
"You totally ruined the mood," Yamanaka Ino finally put down her fist, complaining, then looked towards Uchiha Sasuke, "Sasuke is pretty handsome too, just a bit short."
Uchiha Sasuke, upon hearing this, had lines of frustration all over his face.
Short?
Clearly, it's you who are abnormally developed! If yоu'rе nоt оn М*VLЕМ*РYR, yоu'rе viеwing а соpy.
However, he truly envied the height of the likes of Naruto Uzumaki.
"I hope I'm not grouped with them, or they'll surely mock me," Uchiha Sasuke thought to himself. Though prideful, he had gotten used to losing amidst the constant comparisons with them.
But he would never admit defeat!
Especially not to that guy Naruto Uzumaki! He absolutely couldn't lose to him!
Nevertheless, Uchiha Sasuke was also very puzzled. Why, at the age of twelve, had he not yet awakened the Sharingan? Could his talent really be that far behind his brother's?
Right then, Iruka walked into the classroom from outside, scanned the students, and nodded in satisfaction, "It seems that none of you have relaxed because of graduation, which is excellent."
"Next, we'll begin assigning the teams. Those whose names I announce will be in the same group."
"Hyuga Hinata, Inuzuka Kiba, Shino Yamanaka."
Hyuga Hinata looked at the tall Naruto with a blush and thought to herself, "It's such a pity not to be on the same team as Naruto."
"Nobita Kumahachi, Yamano Mai, Tanaka Iran."
"Shikamaru Nara, Yamanaka Ino, Akimichi Choji."
"I told you so," said Shikamaru, shrugging.
"As if it wasn't obvious we three would be grouped together," Ino huffed.
As the team assignment went on, Iruka announced the last group, "Naruto Uzumaki, Haruno Sakura, and Uchiha Sasuke."
Uchiha Sasuke immediately raised his hand, stood up, pointed at Naruto's nose, and shouted discontentedly, "Mr. Iruka, why am I in the same group as this guy?"
"The teams were assigned by random drawing; there's nothing I can do," Iruka shrugged, "And besides, Sasuke, as a ninja, you need to accept reality."
Uchiha Sasuke had lines of frustration on his face, but he couldn't do anything about it.
Naruto Uzumaki, on the other hand, seemed very happy and said with a laugh, "Sasuke, if there's anything you don't understand, feel free to ask me anytime, whether it's about ninjutsu or taijutsu."
Sasuke scoffed, "No matter what, I would never ask you for help!"
"Alright, stop arguing. Your Jounin instructors will be here soon to take you away. Just wait here," Iruka said as he packed up the roll call list and bid everyone farewell, "I wish you all the best in becoming ninjas who can stand on your own in the future."
With a mixture of reluctance and emotion, Iruka left the classroom.
Soon after, in less than a minute, a Jounin instructor came in and called out the students they were responsible for leading.
As the number of students in the classroom dwindled, only Haruno Sakura, Uchiha Sasuke, and Naruto Uzumaki remained.
Sitting with two others who were significantly taller than him, Sasuke couldn't help but feel a bit of pressure and struck up a conversation just for the sake of talking, "What do you think our Jounin instructor will be like?"
Naruto stroked his chin and joked, "I don't know, but strength-wise, I'll definitely be stronger than him. I hope he can teach me some powerful Ninjutsu."
"Hmph!" Sasuke snorted, clearly disliking Naruto's smug attitude.
"Sasuke, since you're born an Uchiha, have you awakened your Sharingan yet?" Seeing Sasuke's proud face, Naruto wrapped an arm around his shoulder, chuckling, "I've heard that the Uchiha clan's talent lies in their Sharingan; surely you haven't awakened it yet?"
Uchiha brushed off Naruto's hand and said disdainfully, "Awakening the Sharingan isn't that simple, but let me tell you, a genius like me is a late bloomer. The later the Sharingan is awakened, the more powerful it will be!"
Although there was no such saying within the Uchiha clan, Sasuke found that his Chakra was already comparable to that of an average Chūnin, and not far off from a Jounin's.
He was already so powerful without awakening the Sharingan; how much more when he would awaken it in the future?
He would definitely be stronger!
At that time, even Naruto Uzumaki would have to prostrate before him, Uchiha Sasuke.
Ha ha ha!
Thinking of something delightful, the corners of Sasuke's mouth couldn't help but curve into a smile.
Haruno Sakura commented, "It seems that the Uchiha clan are not emotionless but refrain from doing so to hide their true feelings. It's said that the Uchiha are the Clan of Love, yet it appears that hatred is needed to awaken the Sharingan. It really is quite contradictory."
"Hmph! What do you know? Don't use those bits of hearsay to speculate about our Uchiha's Sharingan!" Sasuke crossed his arms over his chest, clearly agitated.
A mere outsider trying to deduce the secrets of their clan's Sharingan?
It was nothing short of a joke!
"Oh yeah? What if I found a way to help you awaken your Sharingan?" Sakura asked, her tone calm as she gave a slight smirk.
"Really?" Sasuke couldn't help but ask, but then he felt a bit foolish—Sakura was just an outsider with no Uchiha blood, how could she possibly know the secrets of the Sharingan?
He was simply grasping at straws out of desperation.
"Of course, as long as you cooperate with my research, you might just be able to awaken your Sharingan." Sakura revealed a mild smile, but to Sasuke, it was as if he saw the scene of [himself tied to an experiment table by Sakura, his blood being drawn, and strange liquids being injected into him].
A shiver ran down his spine!
"I don't believe you," Sasuke immediately refused.
"What? You actually don't trust Sakura?" Naruto complained, "Sakura is the smartest person in the world; surely she wouldn't deceive you, right?"
"Besides, we're comrades!"
Being comrades meant they could rely on and trust each other, and entrust their backs to one another with confidence.
Sasuke snorted again, arrogantly saying, "I am a proud Uchiha, and when it comes to missions, I can complete them all by myself."
"You're still just as big-headed as ever!" Naruto retorted.
Their voices were heard loud and clear by Kakashi, who stood outside the classroom in the corridor.
He had arrived a while ago but wanted to see how these three would react to his tardiness... but now, it seemed that if he didn't appear soon, the three of them might chat until sunset without a care.
"It seems like it's time for me to make an entrance."
Kakashi slid open the classroom door...
