Journey to the West: Life Simulation of Sun Wukong

Chapter 365 Cosmos Simulation Competition (1) - Gourmet Battle_5

[Golden Finger – Hong Fugui]

Among the three judges, there didn't seem to be the slightest relationship, they even drastically differed in styles; yet, they were chosen by the "simulation" to be the judges, which bewildered all the contestants at first.

[Simulation: Now, the competition begins! Both of you may cook your specialty dishes, and conquer the three judges present!]

[Time: 30 minutes]

"You can do it, Sun Wukong! Tutu believes you can make the tastiest dishes!" Hututu cheered Sun Wukong on, to which Sun Wukong replied, "Don't worry, although I'm not any kind of master chef, I still know a thing or two about cooking."

"I won't be beaten so easily," Li Fan said with a hint of confidence in his eyes as he began searching for the ingredients he needed among the various bubbles, which he could take out simply by wishing for them.

And the bubble from which food had been taken wouldn't disappear; a fresh set of ingredients would reappear within it.

This was pushing the creation of things from the void to the extreme.

Sun Wukong also began looking for ingredients.

These ingredients, from all the myriad realms, even included dragon liver and phoenix gallbladder, qilin heart; there was nothing you couldn't find, only what you couldn't imagine.

But time was limited, and those three were mortals, especially Hututu, who was but a three-year-old child; they wouldn't digest things like dragon liver or phoenix gallbladder.

It was better to make some more common, everyday household dishes.

Thus, Sun Wukong chose a ready-to-cook chicken, a bunch of green vegetables, a basket of green peppers, five tomatoes, eight eggs, all common ingredients used in ordinary families.

Whereas Li Fan chose various precious ingredients: abalone, bird's nest, hairy crab, ginseng, deer antler, and so on.

"When it comes to gourmet food, I'm a top student, knowing how to simmer the deliciousness from all sorts of mountain and sea delicacies. And that monkey called Sun Wukong, what did he pick... Eh, home cooking?"

Li Fan was somewhat puzzled, "A celestial being, actually making home cooking?"

Soon after, Li Fan figured it out.

Celestial beings are preoccupied with how to cultivate immortality; how could they possibly be good at cooking?

In the blink of an eye, thirty minutes had passed, and both parties had brought their dishes to the judges' table.

Li Fan introduced his dish first, "This is my most proud creation, The Taste of the Sea!"

Upon lifting the lid, a burst of freshness filled the air, the aroma even drifted to the edges of the nearby spectator seats.

"It smells so good!"

"To create a dish with such an aroma using mundane ingredients is already quite impressive," someone commented. C&h!eck My V-i^r.t&u#al$ Li&br%ar$y E+m*pi$re! ($M$V1LEM^P@1YR)# for the lat*e-st^ updat.es#.^

"It's worth a taste."

At the judges' table, the young chef took the lead, eyeing the rich soup, picking up a spoon, ladled a spoonful, gave it a taste, and said, "Extremely good food, infusing the medicinal power of precious ingredients like deer antler and ginseng into it, which should have been very nourishing. But you've simmered it with a gentle flame, allowing the medicinal power to penetrate into the abalone."

Going for another spoon, he scooped up the abalone, sucked it into his mouth, and the young chef's eyes suddenly brightened: "This abalone is tender yet has the richness of hairy crab meat along with the subtle, refreshing taste of bird's nest, remarkable!"

Li Fan said proudly, "Soaking the hairy crab in bird's nest, then extracting the crab meat and crushing it to allow the flavors to penetrate into the abalone, it indeed took me quite some effort."

Fugui was happily feasting on the abalone, even drinking the soup clean.

After all, coming from a poor family, he had never tasted such delicacies as abalone.

"If ten is the perfect score, I'll give an eight," Fugui was the first to voice his score, "Though it's delicious, if I ate too much of it, I'm afraid it would pamper my appetite too much, and my grandpa definitely can't afford a picky eater like me."

Hututu couldn't come up with any flowery words but found it delicious, and following Fugui, also gave an eight.

Meanwhile, the young chef gave a seven.

Li Fan started to feel insecure.

His dish tasted so good, why was the score so low?

Hututu's score could be ignored after all, since he was just a kid, mimicking others, but Hong Fugui and Liu Angxing were clearly knowledgeable about gourmet food, they were even chefs themselves, so why would they give such low scores?

For Li Fan, anything less than perfect was a low score.

Next came Sun Wukong's home-cooked dishes.

A plate of tender green vegetables with spring onions, a dish of scrambled eggs with tomatoes, a plate of braised chicken, and three bowls of white rice.

"Is it really home cooking?" Li Fan was surprised.

"It smells so good." Hututu was the first to grab the chopsticks, even at his young age he had already learned to pick up food with chopsticks. Holding rice in his hand, he scooped up a bowl of tomato and egg soup and added a piece of boneless chicken, eating it with relish.

"Mmm~tasty."

With a mouthful of rice, a bite of chicken, and a taste of the delightful green vegetables like jade, Hututu chewed his food in his mouth more than forty times before reluctantly swallowing.

The young chef and Hong Fugui also chewed their food more than thirty times before slowly swallowing, mouths salivating non-stop, their gestures unceasing, as if the simple, everyday dishes were more delicious than the Taste of the Sea that Li Fan had crafted from various sea delicacies.

The difference was clear!
