Chapter 213: Demon Killing Sacred Sword
Boom!
The man in black was blasted off his feet, hit the ground hard, and lay there motionless—completely unconscious.
"Wow! Shichen, you're incredible!"
Clap clap clap—
Ignoring the fallen man, Lala applauded in delight, then dashed over and hugged Shichen's arm.
Although Peke's transformed outfit looked like soft rubber, it felt no different from normal fabric; Shichen could clearly sense its gentle softness against his arm.
"Who are those two?" Shichen asked.
"They came to capture me. Shichen, you're so strong—could you help me?" Lala looked up at him with a pleading expression.
"That's no problem…"
"This planet's inhabitant…"
Just then, the first man Shichen had knocked away slowly got to his feet. "Are you sure you want to interfere with us?"
"Well, Lala asked me to," Shichen replied with a helpless shrug.
"In that case… don't blame us for being rough."
After speaking, the man walked over to a small car, violently hoisted it overhead, and then began to float into the air.
"Hey, hey—are you really okay with destroying someone else's property?" Shichen asked, utterly unconcerned.
"Shichen, let's run!" Lala clutched his arm and tried to drag him away, but she couldn't move him at all.
"Relax." Shichen patted the back of her hand and gave her a gentle smile. "I told you—don't underestimate me."
"Got it!" Lala beamed—but still didn't let go of his arm.
"Take this!"
Without another word, the man hurled the car straight at them.
Shichen remained where he was, perfectly calm. He raised his free hand, and a sudden gale swirled into being.
The car halted in mid‑air just above their heads, as though frozen. If you looked closely you could see a semi‑transparent tornado spinning beneath it, locking it in place.
"W‑what?!" the man gasped.
"Shichen, you're amazing!" Lala nearly jumped with excitement.
"I said, don't damage other people's things." Shichen flicked his hand. The tornado carried the car back to its original spot and set it down gently.
"Who exactly… are you?" the man asked in disbelief.
"Me? Just a passing—no, just an ordinary person."
"Ordinary? Impossible!"
"Believe it or not, can you let Lala go?"
"That's out of the question!"
A deep, imposing voice rang out—not from the man in black. As it echoed, a beam of light pierced the sky, illuminating the area.
Shichen looked up and saw a spaceship descending, its wake whipping up fierce winds.
He raised an eyebrow. Quite the spectacle. No way this won't be on the news tomorrow.
But why isn't anyone around to watch?
Well, we're on a public street… whatever—less trouble.
The ship halted a short distance above the ground. From the white light a towering man descended and landed not far in front of Shichen and Lala.
He was strikingly handsome: snow‑white hair, skeletal‑looking armor that somehow still looked stylish—one word: dramatic.
"You can step back now," he told the man in black, then looked at Lala hiding behind Shichen. "Ojou-sama, please stop this and come home with me, will you?"
"No!" she refused instantly.
"Please don't be naughty!"
"I am not—"
"Hold on."
Shichen cut her off. "You two know each other?"
"…We do," Lala admitted, a bit embarrassed.
The newcomer addressed Shichen solemnly. "Earthling, you may not realize the situation. Lala is the First Princess of Planet Deviluke, ruler of the Milky Way."
"Really?" Shichen glanced back at her. "So you're not being hunted?"
"But… I had no choice…"
"Ojou-sama, please don't make trouble with this 'running away from home' business," the man sighed.
"Running away?" Shichen blinked.
"Shichen, I didn't want to! Father keeps forcing me into arranged dates. I had no choice but to come to this planet… I didn't expect Zastin to chase me down!" Lala pouted.
"Arranged marriage, huh? Got it."
Shichen nodded and turned to Zastin. "She's still young—why rush her into marriage?"
"The Princess is heir to the throne. It is the King's will."
"I don't care about robots or thrones—I'm not going back!" Lala declared.
"Ojou-sama, please don't be unreasonable."
"I'm not being unreasonable—and I have a reason to stay here." She glanced at Shichen.
"Princess, you can't possibly mean—" Peke muttered.
"What reason?" Zastin asked.
"It's… Shichen!"
Lala released Shichen, stepped in front of him, and flung herself into his arms. "I've fallen for Shichen, so I'm going to marry him and stay on Earth!"
She barreled into him like a bouncy ball. Shichen didn't immediately return the hug; instead he whispered, "You're not using me as a shield, are you?"
"Please help me," she admitted softly.
"All right, all right." Shichen sighed and hugged her back. "I've touched you and, well, seen everything. On my planet that means I'm responsible."
"What? You did what to the Princess?!" Zastin shouted.
"And Shichen is my lifesaver. Zastin, just report that to Father," Lala said from Shichen's arms.
"No… impossible." Zastin shook his head.
"Why not?"
"I must obey King Deviluke, bring the Princess home… and if I let her marry some unknown Earthling, I'll be disgraced."
"Too bad—I've set my heart on Shichen. What will you do?" Lala demanded.
"Then please step aside, Ojou-sama."
Zastin drew the greatsword at his waist. The blue‑glowing blade and bone‑like hilt radiated menace.
"I must test whether this man is worthy of you."
"Is that so?"
Shichen smiled faintly and gently pushed Lala aside—but she caught his hand.
"No, Shichen!"
"Trust me."
"But… Zastin is Deviluke's top swordsman…" She looked worried.
"Don't worry." He ruffled her hair with his free hand, smiling kindly. "I'm strong too."
"But—" Lala still didn't release him.
"You don't want another arranged date, right? Leave it to me."
"Can you really?"
"Just believe in me."
"…Okay." Only then did Lala reluctantly let go.
Shichen tousled her hair once more, then walked a few steps toward Zastin.
"Your courage is admirable, Earthling. What is your name?" Zastin asked politely.
"Shichen."
"I'll remember it. Defeat me, and I'll acknowledge your engagement to the Princess."
"Thank you."
Shichen raised his right hand, gazing at the crossed‑swords emblem on the back. His eyes flickered.
After drinking Frieren's blood, this emblem had awakened from a Divine Fragment—not a new familiar, but a power whose existence he understood in that instant.
He already knew her, though he didn't know why she slept within that fragment. One thing was certain: she was his strength.
"O queen forged of icy steel,
holy blade that smites demon gods—
become a sword of steel and grant me power!"
As he finished the incantation, the emblem shone with sacred light. A moment later, a sword appeared in his hand—silver blade, golden shoulders: the Demon Killing Sacred Sword.
"What is that?!" Zastin's eyes widened.
Lala, behind Shichen, was equally stunned.
"Pay it no mind. Let's begin." Shichen leveled the holy sword at Zastin.
"So you're no ordinary man. I'll fight at full strength!" Zastin, eager, gripped his bone greatsword with both hands.
"Don't hold back—otherwise you won't get another chance."
"Oh?"
Zastin smiled, swung his sword, and unleashed a slash of energy that ripped through the ground, hurtling toward Shichen.
Shichen's smile never changed. He tightened his grip, made a light swing, and a surge of spiritual power from the holy sword effortlessly erased Zastin's attack.
"Haha! Excellent!"
Laughing, Zastin charged.
Shichen met him head‑on, without a trace of fear.
