Journey to Godhood Begins in Frieren

Chapter 211: Being the Principal

"Next, I'll be taking over this school—any objections?"

Shichen stood in front of the desk, palm up, a sacred, searing ball of golden flame hovering over his right hand.

Opposite him, in the chair behind the desk, sat a stout, balding man whose remaining hair on both sides curved like bull horns. Even seated, his short, pudgy figure stood out. A pair of tiny sunglasses perched on his nose did nothing to hide his sleazy, perverted aura.

"Y‑You…" The man stared in horror at the flame in Shichen's hand, unable to finish his sentence.

This was the principal's office, and the man in front of Shichen was the principal himself.

The office lay in ruins—most of the furniture had been burned away. Anything touched by the golden fire had vanished without a trace, reduced to nothing in an instant.

That was why the principal was terrified. No matter how naïve he might be, he knew this was no stage trick.

The intruder could truly command fire—fire that could kill him instantly and leave no evidence.

He just wanted to be a principal; how had things come to this?

"Hmm?"

When the man stayed silent, Shichen's gaze turned cold. His aura pressed in, the flame roaring hotter, its heat washing over the principal.

"I—I understand! You can be the principal! Just don't kill me!" the man surrendered at once.

"That's better."

Shichen nodded, satisfied. "Then hurry up and file the transfer paperwork. I take over tomorrow."

"N‑No problem! Right away!"

"And don't play any tricks or have any bright ideas. I can find you whenever I want, and bullets don't scare me."

With a menacing smile, Shichen gave the man a hard look—then vanished into thin air before his eyes.

The principal's eyes went wide in disbelief. He rubbed them, but nothing had changed.

He slumped back in the chair with a hopeless sigh, spirit broken, accepting his fate.

Leaving the school, Shichen glanced at the sign—Sainan High School—then strolled away, smiling.

He hadn't expected to end up in the world of To LOVE‑Ru.

It was a bizarre place, full of aliens and ghosts, with extraterrestrials of every shape imaginable.

But the strangest thing was society itself—its rules were a complete mess.

There was "order," yet no one followed it. That's why Shichen could seize the principal's job by force without worrying about consequences.

More importantly, he'd always disliked the principal; even Shichen, skewed as he might be, couldn't stomach that man's perversion.

He refused to let people he cared about be harassed.

Simply stealing the school and the principal's post was mercy enough.

The story of this world hadn't begun yet—no lively, pink‑haired girl at school. Shichen looked forward to meeting her. For tonight he just needed a place to crash; tomorrow he would buy a spacious condo—perfectly normal for a principal with some cash.

And he'd need plenty of room; his household wouldn't stay small.

Next day, Shichen returned to the principal's office. The former principal was gone; only a thick stack of documents lay on the desk.

The office had even been refurbished—everything brand‑new.

Shichen felt a twinge of guilt.

He sat in the plush chair for a moment, savored the luxury, then examined the papers.

They were transfer documents—along with an inventory of the principal's assets.

Turned out the entire school had belonged to the principal. No wonder he could admit anyone without ID.

In this era it wasn't unusual for a principal to own a school—and in this crazy world, nothing was surprising. There were galactic overlords, after all.

Among the files was a deed to a sizable house—so Shichen wouldn't need to buy property after all.

He now understood why people grew fond of taking things by force—everything came so easily; anyone with desire would find it hard to resist.

He wasn't in a rush to inspect the house. Instead, he phoned the secretary to announce the new principal.

The secretary showed no surprise and acted quickly. Soon a broadcast echoed across campus:

"Attention teachers and students: emergency notice. The principal has resigned. The new principal has arrived. Please proceed to the athletic field to meet him."

The message repeated three times. At once, the whole school erupted with footsteps and chatter.

"New principal? The old one quit? For real?"

"The broadcast was clear, wasn't it?"

"Can a principal just resign like that?"

"Who cares? The old guy was a creep. He harassed my girlfriend—good riddance."

"Yeah, he was disgusting. Harassing girls like that…"

"Hope the new principal's normal."

"Maybe the old one was kicked out for being too pervy."

"No way—police couldn't touch him. Who'd bother?"

"Hard to believe someone like that was principal…"

"I wish the new principal were a woman."

"Better pray he's an alien."

"In this world? Could be…"

"Whatever—just be normal."

"At least thanks to him, we might skip English class."

On the field, all three grades—students and staff—lined up. The stands were empty until a lone figure walked up, coming into view.

Some girls' eyes widened; shrieks followed.

"Wow! Who is that? He's gorgeous!"

"Is that the new principal?"

"No way, we're blessed!"

"He looks our age—too young!"

"Could he be the old principal's son?"

"No chance."

"Maybe a celebrity?"

"Mom, I think I'm in love."

"It's fine for a student to date the principal, right?"

Shichen stood on the platform, expressionless, listening to the chatter.

Compliments from strangers no longer fazed him; they were simply facts. Only unattractive people secretly delight in being called handsome.

After a minute, he raised the mic and gestured for silence.

"Quiet, please."

The students obeyed.

"As many of you guessed, I am the new principal. I'll be in your care."

"No way—it's true!"

"A student–principal? Straight out of a light novel!"

"Maybe he really is the old principal's kid—"

"You there, stop guessing. I have no relation to the former principal," Shichen said, pointing at a blushing boy.

"Anyway, that's that. I know all about the old principal's misdeeds. You'll never have to worry about his harassment again."

"Yay!"

"Principal, I love you!"

"I want to have your babies!"

The girls grew more excited by the second.

"That's all. Dismissed. And remember—your job is to study. Don't get any ideas about the principal."

With a stern final warning—and a quick glance at a blue‑haired girl and a brown‑haired boy—Shichen left.

He descended the steps, teleporting to the luxury villa the old principal had ceded to him. A short walk brought him to the gate.

One look and he was satisfied: a three‑story white villa, colorful garden—hard not to like.

Inside, he inspected every floor, then called a furniture company to replace everything. He wanted nothing that creep had used.

After a full interior revamp, evening came. Too tired to cook and with no groceries, he decided to dine out.

But as he stepped through the gate, a meteor streaking across the night sky caught his eye.

To his surprise, the meteor radiated spatial energy. Without hesitation, he twisted that energy, altering its course.

At once something heavy dropped into his arms—and in his mind, "she" spoke at exactly that moment.
