Chapter 230: Even in Love, Physiological Needs Must Be Met
Chapter 230: Even in Love, Physiological Needs Must Be Met
“Why?” Jun Yunshang asked, feigning innocence.
“Hah, are you really not afraid of my beastly nature taking over?” Lin Fengmian sneered.
“I am not afraid. I don’t think you’re that kind of person!” Jun Yunshang looked at Lin Fengmian’s back and spoke with unusual seriousness.
“Woman, you are playing with fire!”
Lin Fengmian snorted coldly and said in a grave tone, “Human nature cannot withstand tests. Never try to test human nature, for the result may be more than you can bear.”
“Oh!”
Jun Yunshang didn’t seem to take it to heart, continuing to bathe with ease, and Lin Fengmian was impressed by how long she could stay in the water.
Lin Fengmian felt a little frustrated. This woman really treated him like one of her own, or perhaps she didn’t even see him as a man?
If only Luo Xue weren’t around, and if only he were still in control of himself.
This woman dared to challenge his dignity as a man; he would have to teach her a lesson, making her cry for her father and beg for mercy.
After a while, Jun Yunshang appeared before him, wearing a fresh set of light green clothes. She twirled lightly, adjusting her attire and asked with a smile, “Young Master Ye, how do I look?”
Looking at Jun Yunshang, who seemed like a lotus rising from clear water, her fair skin tinged with a rosy hue and dotted with small water droplets, her unadjusted collar revealing a glimpse of her cleavage, Lin Fengmian found it hard to look away. The deep, almost bottomless valley between her breasts seemed to draw his gaze like a black hole.
Lin Fengmian suddenly floated down from the tree, his breathing heavy as he walked up to her, pinning her against the tree and looking down at her chest.
He smiled wickedly, “Jun Yunshang, do you really think I am a saint?”
Feeling his breath, Jun Yunshang couldn’t help but feel nervous and uneasy. His scent was a mix of a faint, cold, and refreshing aroma, somewhat like orchids, and it was quite pleasant.
“No, I just trust you. Don’t you love your wife very much?”
Lin Fengmian’s lips curled into a slight smile, “Even in love, physiological needs must be met, don’t you think?”
Jun Yunshang froze as he reached out toward her chest.
It’s over, she thought, feeling foolish for letting her guard down.
Lin Fengmian adjusted her collar, pulling it up to cover her cleavage.
He chuckled, “It’s late and the air is humid. Be careful not to catch a cold!”
Watching him leave with a smile, Jun Yunshang let out a sigh of relief but stomped her foot in frustration.
That guy was just scaring her on purpose, and it was infuriating.
Lin Fengmian walked to the edge of the pond and opened the wine flask in his hand, seemingly intending to fill it with water.
Jun Yunshang spoke up quickly, her face flushed, “This water can’t be drunk.”
“Why not?” Lin Fengmian asked.
“It’s the water I used to bathe in.” Jun Yunshang blushed.
“Isn’t the water used by a beauty even more fragrant?” Lin Fengmian teased.
“Pervert, go get water from upstream.”
Jun Yunshang, both embarrassed and afraid, pushed him away and refused to let him fill the flask with the water.
Lin Fengmian, being pushed, said helplessly, “If I don’t drink it, someone else will.”
“I don’t care, but you can’t drink it!” Jun Yunshang unreasonably insisted.
Lin Fengmian naturally wasn’t that perverted; he was just scaring her. He obediently moved to another spot to fill his flask.
“You obviously don’t drink, so why are you carrying a wine bottle?” Jun Yunshang muttered.
“You don’t understand. How can a swordsman who travels through the martial world not have wine?” Lin Fengmian laughed.
Hearing this, Jun Yunshang laughed, “Meeting you makes me realize that books are all lies. Where have you ever heard of a young swordsman who can’t roast meat or drink wine?”
Lin Fengmian smiled slightly and said, “Seeing you, I realize that books aren’t completely wrong. After all, the princess is indeed very beautiful.”
Jun Yunshang couldn’t help but feel a bit pleased at this, but her smile quickly froze on her face.
“But when I see you, I realize that even heavenly maidens have to eat, drink, and relieve themselves, and they have all kinds of problems as well,” Lin Fengmian teased.
“You are despicable! Don’t say such things anymore!”
Jun Yunshang was so embarrassed that she pounded Lin Fengmian with her fists while he was bending over to fetch water.
“All right, stop hitting me. If you keep hitting me, you’ll really kill me,” Lin Fengmian quickly begged for mercy.
“Hmph!”
Jun Yunshang was angry and asked after a while, “Seeing such a princess, are you disappointed?”
“Not at all. You meet most of my expectations for a princess. I’d give you a passing grade,” Lin Fengmian replied honestly.
“Just a passing grade,” Jun Yunshang muttered quietly.
Lin Fengmian asked with interest, “Are you disappointed?”
“No!” Jun Yunshang seriously shook her head. “You’re gentler than I imagined, at least to me.”
Lin Fengmian smiled with a mixture of emotions. “Knowing a person’s face doesn’t mean you know their heart. Don’t fall in love with me!”
“Who would!” Jun Yunshang said in obvious displeasure.
Lin Fengmian smiled and walked to a nearby spot, sitting down to watch her carefully prepare her little nest for the night.
“Don’t be too nice to her. You’re separated by time and space, and love can turn to hate,” Luo Xue warned.
She wasn’t jealous or anything; she was just worried that Lin Fengmian might fall for Jun Yunshang and hesitate to act when the time came.
After all, they were there to kill the Heaven-Soaring Sword Saint, and from Jun Yunshang’s appearance, it was clear that she had a very close relationship with him.
“Alright, don’t worry. I know what I’m doing.”
Lin Fengmian finally understood why Luo Xue was reluctant to come out and deal with Jun Yunshang.
She was afraid that he might not be able to bear it, right?
Feeling a bit down, he picked up a clean leaf, placed it to his lips, and began to blow. A clear and resonant sound came out of the leaf, but the melody was somewhat melancholic, and it spread through the silent forest.
Jun Yunshang watched him and listened to the sad melody. She memorized the melody and couldn’t help but wonder if he was thinking about his deceased wife.
The next day, Lin Fengmian took Jun Yunshang and flew the boat to the One Line Sky.
The One Line Sky was a narrow passage between two steep mountain ranges where various wild beasts roamed. Even flying at high altitude was dangerous, as they could be attacked by wild beasts, and the fierce gale winds could cause instant death.
A wide river flowed through the mountains, and although there were underwater demons, they were far less dangerous than crossing the mountains.
The Junyan Empire had set up several checkpoints along the river to collect taxes from passing boats and to defend against potential enemies if necessary.
The flying boat flew close to the surface of the water, with the blue river passing below Lin Fengmian and Jun Yunshang.
As they looked up, the wide sky gradually narrowed and finally became a straight line.
Jun Yunshang, delighted by the rare beauty, sat at the edge of the boat, took off her boots, and dangled her feet, swinging them back and forth. She held her sword with both hands and occasionally dipped her feet into the water, causing splashes that refracted into colorful rainbows in the air.
Lin Fengmian watched the increasingly playful princess and couldn’t help but warn her, “Be careful. You might attract some water demons. Don’t blame me if you get bitten.”
“I have you. Besides, we’re flying so fast. No demon can catch up with us.”
Jun Yunshang was unconcerned, occasionally tapping her feet on the water and thoroughly enjoying herself.
