Chapter 81: All your're saying is going in one ear and out the next.
' It's ok, it's ok. I already payed off those bandits. The lot of them should be able to finish him off... And if they can't.' her erratic breathing slowly calmed down, till her demeanor returned to its usual poised appearance.
' I'll just have to come up with another way to eliminate him before it's too late.' Lily thought to herself, her lips arching into a cruel smile. She made her way to her bed before sitting at it's edge.
' Come to think of it.' Lily paused for a moment, pressing a finger to her chin. ' There is a way to make sure he can't return for good.' to think she was able to come up with another method to get rid of her own blood so quickly, yet her words which showed that she only did all this with her family in mind, left one wondering whether she was truly vile or not.

The next day, Lucius got up early, once again Malik it to breakfast on time.
" Where's father..." He came to an abrupt halt after entering the dinning hall, unlike what he was told, His father was nowhere to be seen.
Lucius also happened to notice the hints of unhappiness on his family's faces. Remaining as reserved as always, Lucius quietly took a seat.
" Son, your father was unable to make it back last night." Lady Hana elegantly placed down her utensils, then used a napkin to clean her lips before speaking.
' I can see that...' Lucius didn't see the need for her to tell him something so obvious. What he wanted to know was why.
" One of the servants who accompanied him sent back a letter to us in his stead. It appears he was fortunate enough to run into your half brother on his way back."
' You say that yet I can't sense a hint of joy from anyone of you.' Lucius took a bite of his meal and felt that this was a bit pitiful, though humorous as well.
" Instead of returning, his letter says he's decided to stay overnight at a lodging within the capital with your half brother... " Lucius didn't know whether to cry or laugh whenever his mother emphasized on the words ' Half Brother '.
He took another bite of his meal, put down his utensils and curtly dabbed his napkin against his mouth.
" Then he should be returning this morning?" He asked calmly. His mother and siblings were taken aback by his still present poise.
They believed he would've been infuriated by such news, after all, the contents of the letter were no different from saying that his half brother had gotten a special opportunity to get closer to his father.
' If it was I in the past, it would've been natural for me to get angry but, The both of them spending some father and son time together?'
' Who am to say no?' Lucius chuckled inwardly.
" Aren't you even the least bit worried brother?!" Lily spoke through gritted teeth, clearly agitated.
" And why should I?" Lucius replied matter of fact, causing his sister to click her tongue in dissatisfaction.
" Son, This isn't something to be taken lightly, for all we know, you're father and he could be–"
" Mother please...." Lucius signaled for her to stop with an inquisitive stare. " If they're off bonding together, isn't that a good thing."
" I mean, we almost lost Leo, who knows what he's been through." Lucius shook his head lightly before letting out a sigh of relief. " I think father did the right thing by meeting him directly."
" Although I think that such matters are best discussed at home. If brother could be kidnapped once, who knows if it might happen again. The sooner he returns to the mansion, the better. Right Lily." Lucius turned his attentiveness towards his sister at the end.
" W-What?" Lily's expression faltered momentarily, her eyes widening ever so slowly.
" Don't you also think that it'd be best if father and Leo were to return as soon as possible."
' Come on, please say yes so mom can finally drop the subject.' Lucius complained inwardly. Rather than dragging this inappropriate conversation forward, he wanted to end it before the servants begin to have the wrong impression of him again.
' How on earth does he know about that.' Lily on the other hand, felt mortified, thinking to herself that her older brother had actually managed to figure out that she was the one behind their half brothers momentary disappearance.
But the idea in itself left her muddle headed, she didn't understand how her brother who usually keeps to himself, would be able to decipher her hand in all of this.
" Is something wrong Lily, You don't look good sister?" Lucius frowned looking a bit worried when he saw his sisters expression turning pale all of a sudden.
" I-Is nothing." Lily mustered a smile, quickly evading the situation. " You're right older brother, it would've been for the best if the two of them had returned home instead."
" Celebrating his return together, would've been far more proper." Lily added.
' Thank goodness, she bought it.' Lucius felt grateful, he subtly stole a glance at his mother and noticed that she'd returned to her usual expression, which made him relax his nerves.
The family continued to enjoy their meal. Lily would occasionally sneak brief glances at her older brother, Lucius was completely unaware about the turmoil he'd caused in his younger sisters mind.
' Is he warning me to stop interfering with his plans?' Lily thought to herself, her heart beat was faster than usual.
' I never thought this was even possible.' Lily feared the thought of him revealing her secret, if her father caught wind of this, no, if the kingdom itself were to get wind of this, she would be locked up without a moment to spare.
Knowing her father, he would be enraged and might not even come to have her bailed, but, her mother definitely would but even if she got bailed, what would happen to her reputation from then on, would all those around her begin to view her as a wicked villainess who's treachery was so horrid that she even attempted to have her own brother killed? Not even once but twice?
' Just what is it your after brother...' Lily gritted her teeth behind her lips.
She continued to wonder what his motives where till the end of their dinner, even as they departed to their desperate chambers, her heart still couldn't quite rest, instead the more time passed, the more paranoid she became.
Her brother had always been one to threat her as his sister, even though he was cold but now she wasn't so sure he wouldn't try anything against her.
At most, even if he didn't reveal it to the other's, the fact still remained that he "threatened" her with it, which meant that he might come to ask for something from her later on.
Knowing his gastly personality, he might even continue to use this new card of his to manipulate her whenever he so chooses.

" Goodnight young master Lucius." Su politely curtsey'd before quietly closing the door to Lucius chambers, leaving him to his lonesome.
Lucius's bed sheets rusled as he sat up straight, rather than heading to bed immediately, he grabbed the amulet around his neck. Raising up slightly for a better view.
He had an indiscernible look on his face as he stared at it in silent.
The female ghost still resided within this amulet of his. Thinking to himself that he hadn't quit kept tabs on her all day, he activated his new ability.
" Well I'll be..." Lucius's eyes trembled momentarily. While he was unaware, the female ghosts black energy had grown considerably since the last time he saw her.
' but how's that even possible? My own energy hasn't decreased by much.' Lucius thought to himself, since her energy had increased so much, he was naturally curious as to how she did it.
' Hmm... I think I recalled reading something in the old doctors jotter about ghost.' Lucius suddenly remembered the old doctors jotter which he'd been gifted back then.
Now that he'd gotten enough time to adapt to this new life, his past memories weren't as vague as before and he could finally recall something's in detail.
' It said something about ghosts being beings born from negativity. Therefore, it should make sense for them to heal themselves by absorbing negative energy as well.' he thought to himself.
He took a moment to recall how his day had gone, and though not ideal, he concluded that they were several instances when she might've gotten the chance to absorb negative energy.
Like the small incident he had with his younger sister and her friend, and the family dinner which was less than ideal but still manageable.
' It would be best if I could actually test this out attentively.' he strokes his chin in contemplation.
Alas, his expression waned when he recalled that he had no idea how to summon the female ghost from the amulet, nor did he have any methods to keep her in check.
