Jobless Transmigration: I'm the only one who loves monsters.

Chapter 77: Who told you mooching was allowed?!

" She is a prime suspect, after all, she's the one person that been the closest to you, if it's not her, then she must know the person who is."

" Why don't we have someone get the information out of her." Lavender suggested with a frosty look on his face. " It shouldn't be that hard to pick the mind of a supernatural."

" I warned your father about keeping all these non-human helps, now look what's happened. They're all trying to harm you."

" It's not Su's doing!" Lucius yelled, his body trembling as glared at them with a furious expression. " It's no one's fault... I just.." they watched the rage in his eyes slowly being snuffed out when he saw the looks of disbelief on their faces.

" It's just what?" His mother gently held his hands in her's, forcing him to look at her. " Lucius, please just tell me, what is it."

Lucius was silent for awhile, his family's expressions only grew more worried. Lucius raised his head and glanced around the room as if cheeking for unwanted company but that was just a faint since the first thing his mother had did the moment she entered the room was to send out Su, leaving only the four of them alone in his room.

Lucius took a deep breath before standing up from his bed, gently leaving his mother's hold, he quietly paced towards his rooms window, stopping just before it, with his hands clasped behind his back.

' This pose should work properly, right?' Lucius thought to himself. A melancholic look on his face as he gazed at the estate from up above, though this time he made sure not to even think of anything concerning his new gotten ability.

" It's obvious father dosen't approve of me." Lucius said before letting out a sigh.

" Lucius, what are you saying, of course your father鈥"

" There's no reason for you to hide it mother, I know perfectly well, what he thinks of me. And I know that when the time comes, I won't be the one to inherit the estate."

" Lucius!" His mother shot up from the bed, looking distressed as if she'd heard the worst thing she'd heard today.

His two siblings lips were trembling, malicious scowls on their faces yet they said nothing.

Lucius slowly spun around to meet their gaze, there was a helpless smile on his handsome face, which looked rather tragic in the eyes of the three.

" I believe father will do such because... If we really think about it, I haven't really been the best example of a good son, not to mention a proper heir to the Morningstar household. But my dear brother Leo on the other hand, seems to have been doing everything which I failed to do."

" Not only has he taken up part of the family business like father did when he was young, he isn't the type of person to be hated by others nor avoided like I am, unlike I, he's known to be kind and companionate."

" But that's still no reason for anyone to take what is rightfully your's!" Lily spoke up, sounding every bit agitated.

" Damn that bastard! So this is what he's been planning." Lavender cursed, it wasn't like non of them noticed what was happening, but now that Lucius himself had brought it out in the light, they knew they couldn't just continue to keep silent.

" How dare that wretched rat try to usurp you... When he gets back I'll be sure to鈥"

" Mother!" Lucius's voice rose several notches, his hands trembling at his side.

" This is exactly why I didn't want to let anyone of you know!"

" There's nothing wrong with what Leo's doing. If I had to say anything, I believe he's done nothing but set a good example of what a proper heir should act like. Which is why I..."

" I'm trying to change my says so that maybe, just maybe, father might accept me. There's still time for me to become the kind of heir he wants, one that doesn't waste his time all day, one who doesn't loose his temper over the most insignificant of things."

" I'm not telling anyone of this because I want you to deal with him, I'm telling you this because I want you three to know that my change going forward is so that I can become a better person!"

" Besides! You three don't expect me to stand aside and watch what is mine get taken by another, do you?" A chilling light emerged in Lucius's eye's, one that told anyone who saw it that he wasn't someone who'd give up so easily.

His family turned silent after hearing all he had to say, his younger brother and sister still looked dissatisfied, but his mother on the other hand now looked a lot calmer, like a proper noble should.

Whether it was because she found out that her son wasn't being manipulated or the fact that he was still as fierce as the lion she'd come to know, one couldn't quite tell.

" Alright, I won't meddle in your affairs anymore." His mother pulled him into her embrace. " Just promise me you'll come ask me for help if you need anything, ok."

" Of course mother." Lucius replied. His mother nodded.

Afterwards, she took Lily and Lavender and left his room, leaving Lucius to his own devices, but not before Su returned moments later.

******

The next day, Lucius tried his best and was able to wake up early. Which surprised Su thought she didn't say it. After taking a bath, attending to his hygiene and properly dressing up.

She escorted him to the dinning hall, sadly when Lucius got there, his father was no where to be seen.

" You're father left for a business trip yesterday, he should be back this evening." His mother said as if she could read his mind.

Lucius nodded and took his seat before joining his family for a meal. When he was done, he properly thanked his mom as well as the servants in the hall and last of all, gave his appreciation to the chef.

Once more, the servants were taken aback by such a display but this time his family didn't react as such since they now believed they knew the reason for his sudden actions.

Lucius visited the library with Su right after breakfast.

" Why don't you join me today?" He suggested as they stood outside the library's doors, Su paused momentarily, her eyes widening slowly.

" Really young master, I-I mean, is it really alright?" She asked, in Gruneville, only the nobles and elites were able to get their hands on such thing's, in this kingdom, one could say that knowledge was power and it's price was something that not everyone could afford.

" Yes, I insist." He pushed open the library's doors before turning back towards her.

" I can't have my personal maid, lacking in places she shouldn't, now can I." Without waiting for her to say a word, he grabbed her by the hand and gently took her inside.

The doors slowly closed behind them, sealing off the interior of the library.

Since she'd been recruited as a servant of the estate, Lucius was well aware that Su had already been given some level of education, if not, there was no way she would've been able to conduct her duties for all these past years.

Since she could read on her own, he didn't bother her but searched the library for the books he'd left unfinished last time. Once found, he got to reading.

" What?" Several hours into reading, he noticed some oddities from the amulet on his chest.

Lucius took a deep breath, steeling his nerves before activating his Eyes of the fool ability. Like before, his surrounding turned grey, but unlike the inanimate objects surrounding him. The amulet itself looked rather peculiar.

Unlike before when it was surrounded by that black vapour like energy, now it was surrounded by two energies, the black one and the transparent one. To be more specific, the transparent energy on him was slowly being pulled into the amulet.

Though faint, Lucius saw that the more of his transparent energy that entered the amulet, the more the black energy would grow.

" She's feeding off me!" Lucius stiffened, quickly taking off the amulet and placing it on the desk Infront of him.

The amulet shook, rattling on the desk but gradually stopped.

Lucius let out a sigh of relief but his breath hitched when the jewel of the amulet rippled before resembling an eye that glanced at him.

That eye was the same blood shot eye of the female ghost.

But on seeing Lucius, that bloodshot eye trembled before being replaced by a gaze of terror. The eye then vanished the next moment, returning the amulet jewel to its originally appearance.

Lucius blinked in surprise when the amulet suddenly hovered into the air, before shooting off into the distance.

' Wait a second, where do you think you're going.' Lucius quickly grabbed the amulet before it could fly off, the amulet began to fly about erratically in his grasp but Lucius refused to let go.
