Jetstream: A Transformers Story

Chapter 6: A Dark Secret

The rest of the Autobots were gathered at the base awaiting their next phase of action. While Jetstream was parked, Brian walked up to him, opened the door and sat down. Something was clearly bothering him.

"What's up Brian?" Jetstream asked, curious as to why he had come.

"I have to tell you something Jet"

"What is it? The kids? The Mrs.?" He asked.

"Na, it's not them. But it kind of is"

"Tell, me. What's on your mind?"

"Well, I'd like to tell you that I am retiring" he said with a sigh.

"You're leaving?!" Jet said shocked at the news.

"Yes. I can't keep on doing this. I'm getting old and I'm hardly there for my kids. I don't want to miss the best part of their lives. We humans don't live as long as you do so yeah, our time is limited"

"I understand"

"I just think you should know. These past couples of months have brought us quite close. I owe it to you"

"Don't worry Brian, it's all good. So, when are you leaving?"

"Soon, I handed in my letter weeks ago so it should be anytime now"

"Alrighty then. Let's make the next few days the best you've had"

"Thanks Jet" Brian said getting out of him. "I'll see you later" he said as he shut his door.

Jetstream gave him a light honk as he walked away.

"Guess I'm getting a new partner soon" Jet said with a sigh.

Not long after that, the Autobots had Bumblebee on the line. He had transmitted a message to them saying that Sam and Agent Simmons had uncovered some details about the Ark's landing and needs help on the mission. Without a moment to waste, Lennox assigned Jetstream, Dino and Sideswipe to aid Bumblebee and Sam in their course.

The three revved up and rolled out as they drove through the city casually to Sam's place. Bumblebee had sent them his coordinates so they wouldn't have trouble locating Sam's house. They got there just as Sam and Carly were having their argument; their presence wasn't appreciated by her. Jet didn't get the details of their argument but what he did get was a briefing on what they were up against.

"Alright guys. We've been able to uncover somethings concerning the dark side of the moon from the papers my colleague gave me. So far it turns out that the Russians have also been to the moon and might have some interesting details about their exploration there" Sam explained.

"Well, have you found any Russians yet?" asked Sideswipe.

"We've been able to locate a secret club that two Russian cosmonauts have allegedly been spotted at. That's where we're heading too" Simmons answered.

"Great. Let's roll" said Jet.

Simmons, Dutch and Sam got into his Maybach as they were escorted by the Autobots to the club.

"Going to a gig on the hunt for two Russian cosmonauts. Nothing like driving in a Maybach, eh? Germans know how to make cars, let me tell you" Simmons said as they drove.

The five of them drove across town to a bar where they parked on the side of the road opposite it. Dutch revealed their equipment. They had a laptop hooked up to a mini dish and two googles to help them identify their targets. They also had a briefcase full of hand guns and brass knuckles in case things got rough.

"My Dutchman, former NSA cybersleuth extraordinaire, tracked them down… here. Now we watch and wait" said Simmons.

While Simmons and Sam sat in the back of the car, Dutch watched everyone that walked in and out of the club hoping to get a match on the cosmonauts. Meanwhile the Autobots waited patiently, they knew things like this took time to accomplish so they were ready for it.

"I got a match!" Dutch said with excitement.

"You're a German Shepherd, Dutch" Simmons praised as he rubbed his head.

"Let's go get em" said Sam as they stepped out of the car as Simmons calmly carried a gun from the case.

"The thing about Russians is…" Simmons began as they walked to the entrance. "… they never like to talk. It's going to take a little of the international language to get through to them"

Simmons walked up to the metal door in front of them and gave it a knock. The rectangular eye hole opened up as a big muscular man looked at the three of them.

"Do Svidanya" Simmons said with confidence.

"That means good bye" the man answered sternly and closed the eye hole.

"Okay, okay. Watch this kid" Simmons says again as he reaches into his pocket and brings out some dough.

He knocks on the door again and the man opens it with a grunt. He hands money over to him and then says something in Russian to him. The man nods and closes the hole then unlocks the door for them to enter.

"That's the power of money my friend" he says with a light chuckle.

As they walk in, the air around them gets tense with all eyes on them. Murmurs could be heard all around them as Americans weren't welcome to an all-Russian bar.

"Over there" Dutch says as he motions his head to where the Cosmonauts and their partners sat.

The Cosmonauts were named Yuri and Dimitri. Seeing the Americans look at them, they began to whisper in Russian with Yuri saying that they should stay loose. Simmons walked up to the men, sitting down with other people, having a drink and talking casually. Simmons moved with Dutch behind him as Sam looked around wanting to get a clear look of their environment. For all he knew, they could all pull out guns and finish them in an instant.

"Dutch, give me something tough" h said as he grabbed their attention.

Dutch looked hurriedly through a small Russian dictionary as he hesitantly called out a word. "B-baryshnikov"

"We speak English" Dimitri plainly replied.

"Dutch, you suck" Simmons said as his full focus was on the cosmonauts now.

"It's a Cyrillic alphabet. It's like all the buttons you never push on a calculator" he said in his defense.

The Russians had a little laugh over it with Dutch walking over to the bar counter and Sam standing by Simmons.

"I don't suck" Dutch said angrily.

"Agent Seymour Simmons, Sector Eight, formerly seven. We know who you are, cosmonautchiks" he said introducing himself.

"So what?" Yuri said.

"You were supposed to travel to the dark side of the moon, then… it all got shut down. The question is, why?" he said cockily.

The woman in a white coat next to Dimitri was having none of it. She turned to Dimitri and spoke in Russian to him. She then turned to the bartender and spoke to her. Dutch was reading put from the dictionary and said a word that meant can my child smoke in here. The bartender had drink in her hand, she replied the woman calmly before dropping it. After that, she barked instructions in Russian and then a man pinned Sam to a wall and pulled out a gun on him.

"Ah- okay, all right, okay" Sam said lifting his hands. He was right, this place was loaded.

The woman next to Dimitri pointed a small pistol at Simmons as she pushed it against his nose. Simmons showed no fear as he calmly rode to his feet. Dutch on the other hand had a Shotgun pointed at him; the possessor of the gun was none-other than the bartender herself.

"Go ahead, shoot me" he taunted with the woman replying in Russian. "I'm willing to die for my country. Are you?" he asked.

With all the guns out, Dutch was taking a turn for the worst. A killer had been unleashed with his eyes taking a more violent look and his expression that of a man ready to kill. The bartender once again barked at him in Russian with Simmons commenting on the other's beauty. The bartender yelled at him once more and he snapped.

He grabbed the nozzle of the gun and slammed it on the counter, causing the woman to fire a round. He punched her in the face then twisted her body, disarming her of her weapon as he turned swiftly to point his gun at an incoming man. With a gun in his face, the man halted his approach. His actions caused Witwicky to be rough handled as they bent him over and pointed a gun at the back of his head.

"Dutch! Back in the back in the cage" Simmons instructed knowing that if this continued, it won't end well for either of them.

Dutch slowly went down with the man in front of him doing the same and then out of nowhere, he pulls out a pistol, pointing one at the man close to him and another at the man pinning Sam. His actions caused more screams as the people were more terrified.

"Dutch! Hold. Dutch, hold!" Simmons instructed with a much firmer tone.

"Control your buy, please! Control your boy" Sam said as he didn't want his Brain splattered all over the floor this afternoon.

"Dutch, schtop! Ich-ku-klav-kush-kash-stooop!" said Simmons.

Whatever that gibberish was, it seemed to work as Dutch dropped the guns and began to apologize to them.

"I'm so sorry, that was the old me" he said with an apologetic tone.

"Okay, let everybody just calm down. Let's lower the heat, lower the guns, let's relax. World war two is over" Simmons said calming the mood as the guns were lowered.

Dimitri and Yuri looked at one another deciding whether to tell them their secret or not. Eventually, they decided to give them the information they required. They led them away from the bar and to a secret passage where they kept files and photos from their time as astronauts.

"What you're about to see is the biggest Soviet secrets" said Dimitri.

They walked to a big safe door with a man standing watch over it. Dimitri put his hand into the safe and picked up a file, he dropped it on a small table next to the man standing there. A hole above the table allowed light to enter the place granting them illumination.

"America first to send man to the moon. But USSR first to send camera" Said Dimitri as he and Yuri sat with Sam at the table.

"In 1959, our Luna 3 take picture of the… dark, the shadow side. Sees nothing. But in 1963, Lunar 4 sees-"

"Strange rocks" said Yuri as he finished his sentence.

"Yeah" Dimitri echoed.

"Around ship. Hundreds of them" Yuri added.

"Yes, show picture" motioned Dimitri.

The two of them handed the photos over to Sam and he began to examine them.

"With some drag marks" added Yuri.

Sam quickly realized what they were after seeing them some hours ago. "I've seen these. These aren't rocks, these are pillars" he explained.

"Alien pillars for a space bridge. We know about them because the Autobots have five of these." Sam added.

"Decepticons must have raided the ship before Apollo Eleven ever got there, took the pillars and hid them" Simmons deduced.

"It doesn't make sense. The Decepticons have the ship. They have all those pillars. Why would they leave Sentinel when he's the only one who can use them?" Sam said pondering on the mystery behind all this.

"Unless.."

"He's the one thing they still need" Sam said as it dawned on him.

"Cosmonauts, thank you for your time" Simmons thanked.

The two of them nodded as the three proceeded to leave.

"We have to meet up with Sentinel. Rendezvous with him, keep him safe" Sam said as they walked out of the bar.

"How are we going to reach him?" Dutch asked.

"Not us, they" Sam said looking at the Autobots parked on the street casually.

"You guys go, I'll ride with Bee. Ask him if he can get across to Sentinel"

"Okay" Simmons replied. Without an exact location of where to go, they stayed put in the car until the Autobots make a move.

"Sam, what… did… you… find?" Bee asked.

He had his comms open to Sideswipe and the other two so that they could listen in.

"The whole thing has been a setup from the beginning. The Decepticons raided the ship before Apollo 11 ever got there. They took hundreds of pillars from the ship and left Sentinel because they couldn't revive him. Now that Optimus has brought him back they're coming for him. We have to get to him, guard him, and keep him safe until we get back to N.E.S.T" Sam explained.

"Don't worry… Sam. Consider it… done" said Bumblebee.

Immediately, Sideswipe got in touch with Sentinel who was already on his way back to N.E.S.T and setup a rendezvous point for them to meet up as Optimus got held up in traffic.

"Alright guys, I have a pin on Sentinel's location and have setup a meet up point. Let's roll" Sideswipe said.

The four of them cranked up their engines almost simultaneously and began to drive as they got the jump on Dutch who followed behind hurriedly.

"At long last. Our time has come! Dreadbots! Secure our partner" Megatron broadcasted on the Decepticon frequency.

"Yes lord Megatron" they answered.

Without a moment to waste, the Decepticons mobilized and were on a roll to intercept Sentinel Prime marking the beginning of things to come.
