It is Easiest to be Obsessed by Everyone

Chapter 36

Last Wednesday, I woke up as New Chang-woo, and since today was Wednesday, it had been exactly one week.

Such a short time, yet more than enough to understand the perks of being good-looking.

Just how much has happened in one week?

I’d already made over 25 million won.

Now, I understood why celebrities raked in so much money.

Living as Lee Chang-woo for just one week, each day was electrifying, intense, and exciting.

Original Chang-woo, who probably never fully enjoyed these perks, was a little pitiful.

I’d make sure to put his legacy to good use.

And wow, women really do seem to live on coffee and cake nonstop.

“Can life really be this easy…?”

“Huh? What’s easy?”

“Oh, nothing.”

Is life supposed to be this easy?

———

They say words have power.

After bragging about life being easy, here comes an unexpected challenge: G-cup Hwang Ah-young has shown up with her friends.

“I’ll take three iced Americanos.”

“But I wanted a frappuccino…”

“Just get the Americano.”

“Then for the cake…”

“We’ll eat whatever the gorgeous staff picks out. That’s the rule here.”

Hwang Ah-young, having asserted her dominance over her friends, gave me a playful smile.

“Just give us six random cakes.”

“…Thank you.”

She handed me her card, and not so subtly. She brushed her fingers against mine.

[Hwang Ah-young]

[Age: 24]

[166cm, 50kg, G-cup]

[Base Desire Level: B]

[Interest in You: S]

Every time I saw her, I was taken aback by that chest.

In a tank top, it was even more noticeable, drawing all eyes.

The few male customers in the café were practically dizzy from trying to glance her way.

Out of all the women around Chang-woo, she had the most impressive chest.

When it came to looks, though, Jung Hyena still reigned supreme.

As I handed the card back, Ah-young gave a big smile and joked, “Could I get your number by any chance?”

“Sorry. It’s against the store policy.”

“Well, if you change your mind, let me know.”

She and her friends, Kim Ju-ri and Seo Yu-min, miraculously found a table.

“Do you know her? It kinda seemed like it.”

Ji-hyun, the boss’s sister, asked, glancing at their table disapprovingly.

Lying wouldn’t help here; it would just backfire later.

“Yeah. I think they came by to show some support.”

“You guys seem pretty close. What’s the story?”

“Just, you know, acquaintances.”

We met just five days ago when she kissed me in the middle of a date with someone else, right there on the street in broad daylight.

She wouldn’t believe me if I said that… Or maybe she would.

With this face, even the wildest stories make perfect sense.

“It doesn’t seem that way, though. Seems more current than that.”

“Not my concern.”

Ji-hyun started prying with more questions, which made me a little anxious.

I remembered what the boss told me on my first day—he didn’t want his sister to make things uncomfortable for me.

“Were you two ever actually dating?”

Now even Seong-hee, the senior-most employee, chimed in.

I shrugged lightly.

“Not that I remember.”

“Ohhh.”

“But the way she looks at Chang-woo, it’s not how you’d look at a casual crush.”

“Looks more like you’ve been on a few dates.”

“Are you really sure you don’t have any feelings for her?”

Why is there so much interest in Hwang Ah-young compared to Choi Ji-soo?

It’s probably not just about the difference in their sizes.

Maybe it was their vibe?

Ji-soo definitely had a stronger, more assertive vibe, whereas Ah-young had a softer, more approachable feel.

[Hwang Ah-young] Chang-woo ♥♥♥♥

Are you mad I came without a word? ㅠㅠ

Just wanted to see you ♥♥♥

I promise I’ll just have my coffee and leave ♥♥

Looking up from my phone, I caught Ah-young’s gaze.

Right. She knew I said I’d never ignore her messages.

Since this was her first text after our last meeting, I’d answer… definitely not because she was taking up a table at the shop I work at.

[Me] Just don’t disrupt my work.

[Hwang Ah-young] Okay ♥♥♥♥

[Hwang Ah-young] I’m all safe; I’ve been taking my meds consistently ♥♥

[Hwang Ah-young] So, when are you free….? ♥♥ >♥<

Yesterday it was Choi Ji-soo stopping by with talk of her time of the month; today, it was Ah-young.

She kept looking my way, chatting on and off with her friends while her eyes followed me constantly.

I knew that look; it was the gaze of someone in love.

I used to look like that.

In a way, she reminded me of my old self, making it hard to just brush her off.

[Me] I’ll call you if I need anything; otherwise, just stay put.

I tried to make my message sound as ‘Chang-woo’ as possible, though my mild instinct to soften it somewhat betrayed me.

[Hwang Ah-young] Got it ♥♥♥

[Hwang Ah-young]

Oh, great.

Opening those here would be a disaster.

I quickly put my phone away. I’ll check it out later in the bathroom.

———

The boss came back looking pretty exhausted.

“Did it get resolved?”

“Yeah. One real pain in the neck gave me a hard time. It’s like he’d caught some rabid virus, drooling and barking like a mad dog.”

“So what happens now?”

“What else? Gotta get a lawyer. Just when you think you’re finally making money, these expenses come out of nowhere.”

“Was it that bad?”

“Just saying that good lawyers don’t come cheap. Even if you win, you don’t get the legal fees back.”

As he grumbled, glancing around the cafe, his eyes suddenly widened in surprise.

“Wow! Table 13, what’s that about? That’s intense.”

“I’ll tell my sister on you, just so you know.”

“Hey, this is a totally natural reaction for any guy. Are you even Korean?”

“She’s a friend of Chang-woo’s.”

“Really?”

“It’s so obvious she has a crush on him.”

The boss shot a look at me, his eyes intense.

“Hey, is your friend working or just hanging out?”

“Don’t even think about it, boss. I can’t concentrate like this.”

“Fine, whatever. Shame, though. If you handled mornings and she took the counter in the evenings, our sales would skyrocket.”

G-cup figure, tank top showing off everything—it was true she grabbed everyone’s attention.

Both men and women glanced at her, some of the women even looking a little jealous.

Though Ah-young appeared to enjoy the attention.

Oh, right, I almost forgot.

[Me] Hwang Ah-young showed up at the café… honestly, it’s creepy

[Jung Hyena] Whoa! Is she causing any trouble or anything??

[Me] Guess your advice worked this time. She’s just quietly sipping her coffee.

[Me] But the staring is intense; I feel like I’m getting drilled through by her eyes.

[Jung Hyena] Glad to hear that….♡

[Jung Hyena] I’m off on time today….♡

[Me] I’m afraid she’ll follow me, so I’ll head straight home. You come over too.

[Jung Hyena] Got it…!

______

At Hwang Ah-young’s table, Kim Ju-ri and Seo Yu-min were sipping their coffee and exchanging curious looks.

“Chang-woo working at a café of all places? The world’s really falling apart.”

“What’s he doing here with a face like that? How much can a café job even pay?”

“Who knows. This place got popular fast. I heard sales skyrocketed after Chang-woo started. Maybe they’re giving him something extra.”

“Could be. Chang-woo wouldn’t stand for taking a loss—he’d go off on them.”

“But when he talks to the other staff, he doesn’t seem like Chang-woo. It’s like he’s someone else.”

“Right? I thought so too.”

“He changed a lot all of a sudden. Speaking German last time was really cool, too.”

Bang!

Hwang Ah-young set her cup down a bit roughly, growling as she looked between her two friends.

“Quit making heart eyes at Chang-woo. Or I’ll take out yours.”

“What? Can’t even look at him now?”

“Like Chang-woo would even notice Kim Ju-ri. Ah-young, with a body like yours, what’s there to worry about?”

“And why are you bringing my face into this, Seo Yu-min? I get plenty of compliments myself.”

“Yeah, well, to Chang-woo, both of us are probably the same—just squid.”

“Must be nice for you, Ah-young. At least he sees you as, well, a woman.”

Feeling pleased, Ah-young straightened her shoulders, emphasizing her chest, which drew wide-eyed looks from the men sneaking glances around the café.

“But Ah-young, you threw a fit to get a day off, and now you’re just going to sit here in a café all day?”

“Why not?”

“Please don’t waste my precious day off like this.”

“What are friends for? If I hog a four-top table all day, it’s bad for business, you know. The boss won’t like it if it affects Chang-woo.”

“Looked like the boss was grinning every time he glanced at Chang-woo.”

“Let him be. He’s probably having a nice dream.”

Kim Ju-ri and Seo Yu-min sipped their coffee through straws and glanced around the café.

Every table was full.

The four-top tables all had at least three people seated, and the rare two-tops were taken by men without exception.

Female customers ranged from teenagers to women in their fifties.

Middle-aged ladies were whispering to each other and sneaking looks at Chang-woo.

“So shameless.”

“I never want to end up like that.”

“But you can tell they’re Gangnam ladies with money.”

The table turnover rate was abysmally low.

Once seated, customers made it their mission not to leave.

Instead, the rate of ordering was incredibly high.

The women were finishing their food and drinks as quickly as possible so they could line up at the counter again, hoping for another chance to see Chang-woo up close.

Whenever they ordered, they’d all get up at once, trying to catch his attention.

Not a single customer was there to just chat and pass time—they were all trying their best to catch his eye or exchange a word with him.

What might have been a two-hour coffee outing turned into one with a new drink every twenty minutes.

Some even stuck to bottled drinks for the sole purpose of making multiple orders.

Meanwhile, some customers were continually buying take-out, checking for available tables and sneaking glances at Chang-woo from right in front of the counter.

“This place is doing amazing business.”

“At this rate, the boss might just buy the building.”

“Or worse, the building owner might kick him out and take over himself.”

“Whoa, you’re right. That could actually happen.”

“I heard a lot of building owners kick out successful tenants and take over themselves. The boss here must be worried about that.”

Ah-young gave a little haughty shake of her tank top.

“If I were the owner, I’d never do something so stupid. I’d keep the café’s owner but put Chang-woo in charge.”

“Chang-woo wouldn’t be able to cover the deposit here. It’s probably at least half a billion won.”

“I could just give it to him. What’s there to worry about?”

“But how would the landlord know there’s a line of women willing to fund him?”

“If the landlord is smart, they’d just let him take over without a deposit and get a cut of the profits instead, right?”

“Ah-young, you get super smart when it comes to anything about Chang-woo.”

“And Ah-young’s also the one who acts the dumbest over Chang-woo.”

“Want to die?”
