NOVEL NEXT Chapter 277: [Core] Phase II
Gayle swiftly avoided a dreadful attack as by jumping upwards, dodging the metallic spikes that appeared below her. The hero then changed his target quickly and rushed to strike down Pauleen who had her bow drawn back. Pauleen kept calm as she fired downwards instead, creating a hole on the floor which stopped the hero from his tracks. "Tch!" And just as he stopped, Juniper took an opportunity and flew straight passing his back and striking his legs, opening a small cut behind his shin.
"Juniper!" Gayle issued a warning, which led to Juniper dodging to the right, barely avoiding metallic spikes that came out from the ground. Gayle landed and immediately went back to rush down the hero. "Annoying brats! I'll show you!" The Hero attacked Gayle with reckless abandon, taking a hit from Gayle's scythe to his left shoulder as he counterattacked Gayle by striking her down with his sword on the same spot he was hit in. Gayle was annoyed with how the Hero was able to go through her mind reading capabilities and forced her scythe deeper, flinging herself as blood started coming out from her left shoulder. With the Hero being open again, Pauleen fired another arrow, but it was easily dodged by the hero. Pauleen wasn't bothered however as she drew another arrow back and prepared another shot. Gayle took that time to pull out the blade of the scythe and absorb the blood immediately. Juniper fired black feathers straight to the open wound, but the feathers were deflected by the hero. Gayle didn't waste that opportunity of getting distracted and attacked the hero from behind, but she was blocked by a barrier behind him. "Huh?!" Gayle was surprised and immediately distanced herself. However, the hero casted magic with his free hand. Blades emerged from the ground and immediately slid towards Gayle. She was familiar with the pattern as it came from a game she played and easily dodged it, but more came out as she continued to dodge most of them. She however made one slipup, causing one of her fingers in her left arm to be chopped off. "Ghh! [Mysteria]!" She activated her weapon, which restored the lost finger and the wound on her left shoulder. "Tch, truly annoying with how that ability functions." The hero clicked his tongue as he distanced himself away from them, avoiding on getting himself surrounded as he placed himself on the corner.
Pauleen drew her bow and prepared a blasting arrow, the same arrow she used to open an escape path for Lilianna and Julianna. Just as she fired the arrow, the hero smiled in a sinister manner. After just before the arrow struck him with a shockwave, it disappeared along with the energy used. Juniper's [Fallen Angel] form was also cancelled, and Gayle was no longer able to harness the power in Mysteria. The three of them realized that the MDB has been activated and they could no longer use magic for the fight.
In that moment, the Hero brought out a card, which meant that he was finally going all out the moment they were unable to use magic.
With the Hero Card's activation impossible to cancel, the three of them could only prepare themselves for a difficult battle.

"As expected, you really want to put me down here." Draxus huffed as he blocked Iapetus' spear from hitting him, eventually dodged to the side as he noticed Mnemosyne coming at him from behind as he redirected Iapetus' spear to hit her. The two however managed to easily avoid collision as Draxus had to dodge once more, avoiding a crushing strike from Wrath which damaged the floor of the room. Iapetus moved in again with Mnemosyne and Wrath going to his sides. Draxus tried to dash backwards but was stopped by an invisible wall. "Tsk..." Draxus' eyes started glowing brightly as the invisible wall materialized into a proper object and instantly broken through in quick succession.
"It's really tricky fighting against four of you at once!" Draxus stomped the floor and unleashed a freezing shockwave, freezing all the water in the bathroom and shutting off all the candles, darkening the area completely. With his glowing eyes, he was able to see around the area, he turned around and rushed forward as he knew Unknown was there. He was aware for the timings of Unknown's [Invisible Force] and [Scatter Bomb] attacks. He tried slicing off Unknown, but she managed to easily dodge his attacks. Draxus opened boundaries and tried firing magic towards Unknown, directing her to a position as Draxus noticed a presence approaching. He then stood at the center in front of the line of sight of the hole that they entered from, bringing him to his position as he unleashes lightning magic towards the walls which now serve as lighting. Iapetus, Mnemosyne, and Wrath rushed towards his position and as soon as they converge towards his position, Draxus trapped their legs in ice, they immediately broke free from it, but were staggering for a single moment, which was more than enough for him.
A large laser came out from the hole as Draxus quickly moved to the side. Iapetus, Wrath, and Mnemosyne were directly hit. They weren't able to take notice of the laser as Draxus had spread his presence throughout the room, blocking their recognition of other magic from outside the room.
Draxus moved back towards the hole, and Audrey came out of the hole where all of them came from. "Perfect timing Audrey." "No, I knew you'd be able to prepare that for me." Draxus and Audrey now prepared themselves as Iapetus was able to survive but had activated his [Gray Border], as only his [Death] half was up while the other half of his body was starting to regenerate. Mnemosyne was staggering as her body had burns all over. Wrath's body had cracks on his body, while Unknown was completely unscathed even if she was in the line of fire.
"Remember, keep your distance away from Iapetus, we can't go near him at this point." "Got it, Unknown will need to be prioritized in this fight, she'll keep locking us in horrible positions if we don't deal with her." "Aight, prep the trump card. How fast can you process it now?" Draxus started talking about something as Iapetus brings out a badge and placed it on his chest. "One full second per magic, it's a little slow but I think I can manage to go faster if I take a dose." "Alright, we have to use our specialties, don't fall behind my disciple!" As the MDB was activated, Draxus' eyes glowed brightly, as if completely unaffected by the MDB. Audrey brought out a syringe and immediately injected the contents into her neck, her eyes then started to glow brighter similar to Draxus. "Good! If they scramble our magic, we'll just build them up from scratch then!" Draxus and Audrey smiled as they prepared their weapons for battle.
Iapetus rushed towards them, to gain control. However, Draxus and Audrey split off immediately, Wrath and Mnemosyne moved to cover the flanks and prevent Draxus and Audrey for a pincer. Draxus ran up the walls and Audrey then slid down, Draxus jumped over Wrath and Audrey slid down below Mnemosyne, they then continued rushing towards Unknown. Unknown activated her invisible force to create invisible walls, Draxus and Audrey then changed her invisible force into a flimsy dirt wall, shocking them all as Draxus broke through charging in with his arm up and Audrey cutting it open. Audrey continued her charge towards Unknown while Draxus turned to the right and started folding the space using [Theory Magic], forcing the other three enemies to be distant. However, Iapetus and Mnemosyne connected their gazes and nodded. Using [Force of Death], Iapetus threw Mnemosyne towards Draxus at the force of a comet, which surprised him as he didn't quite expect a nasty strategy as he was knocked into the wall by Mnemosyne's body.
Draxus was stunned, as the next thing he saw was Mnemosyne's hand covering his face and channeling magic into his mind. "Drax!" "Keep going! Deal with Unknown first!" Audrey attacked Unknown, now rendering her abilities useless by using [Theory Magic]. "[Scatter Bomb]!" "[Change Theorized Form]!" Unknown realized that she was too arrogant on the fight, and decided to fully fight with her true capabilities. "[Open Replacement]!" Unknown received a direct strike on the chest from Audrey's estoc, but she had converted all air within the area into mana, limiting Audrey's breathing again. Audrey then focused as she changed mana into a bubble of air to circulate around her at the very least. As her estoc pierced through, she instantly pulled it out to get Unknown to bleed as she rushed towards Draxus. As she started running towards Draxus, Mnemosyne passed through her as she was knocked away. What Audrey then saw was an open area as Draxus was surrounding himself with energy as the clouds started to darken.
Draxus' form has changed. Blue hair like the skies, green eyes like the forests, and his clothing also changing into similar color scheme of her eyes and hair. Two swords materialized in front, one being pure white blade brimming with energy and the other seemingly resemble to be a wooden blade. In that moment, Audrey felt her magic return as she noticed that the MDB was dismantled.
