Chapter 124: Chapter 124 – Alex Son?

South Korea, Incheon Airport – 8:00 PM

Alex stood in the middle of the bustling airport, glancing around at his surroundings. The fluorescent lights reflected off the polished floors, and the air buzzed with the sounds of announcements in Korean and the chatter of travelers. Despite the crowd, something felt different.

Kimura, walking beside him, leaned in and whispered, "Weird, huh? People here don't recognize you."

Alex scanned the terminal, realizing that Kimura was right. Unlike in Puerto Rico or Japan, no one approached him for autographs or photos. There were no excited fans whispering his name or trying to sneak a picture. It was a rare moment of anonymity.

A few steps away, Ippo and Aoki struggled to carry the luggage toward a black van parked outside. Yagi, who overheard Kimura's whisper, smirked and said, "Why are you whispering? No one understands Japanese here anyway."

Kimura blinked in realization before scratching his head. "Oh… right. I forgot!" He let out a sheepish laugh.

Inside the van, Coach Kamogawa and Coach Shinoda were already seated, waiting for the others to board.

One Week Ago – San Juan, Puerto RicoThe penthouse swimming pool shimmered under the warm glow of the setting sun. Ippo and Alex floated lazily in the water while Aoki sat poolside, watching them with envy. The air smelled of salt and chlorine, mixing with the faint aroma of food from the hotel's restaurant below.

Yagi approached with a serious expression. "Alex, we need to take a three-country trip."

Alex raised an eyebrow and sat up, causing water to drip from his shoulders. Aoki and Ippo also turned their attention to Yagi.

Ippo asked, "Where are we going, Yagi-san?"

Yagi adjusted his glasses and replied, "I've booked us flights to South Korea first, then Australia, and finally Singapore."

At a nearby table, Kimura was stuffing his face with food while Takamura leaned back in his chair, arms crossed. Kimura mumbled between bites, "Why are we traveling to so many countries?"

Yagi sighed. "It's to promote Alex's brand, Makunouchi Dynasty, and to increase his global recognition as a fighter. Alex is now the reigning Super Champion of the lightweight division, holding the WBA, WBO, and WBC belts. He needs publicity, and this trip will help build his international fanbase."

Back to the Present

The team had finally arrived at their hotel. Alex yawned, stretching his arms as they stepped into their penthouse suite. The room was spacious and luxurious, with floor-to-ceiling windows providing a stunning nighttime view of Seoul.

Kimura and Aoki were already passed out on the couches, exhausted from the long flight. Meanwhile, Alex wandered into the kitchen, aimlessly pacing back and forth.

Coach Kamogawa, who was reviewing notes at the dining table, glanced at Alex. "You should get some sleep. Tomorrow's schedule is packed."

Alex exhaled through his nose, leaning against the counter. "I'm bored."

Coach Shinoda, who was pouring himself a drink, smirked. "Why not go out and explore the city?"

Alex's eyes lit up at the idea. "That's a good idea!" He glanced around the room. Ippo was lazily sprawled on the couch, eyes half-closed, while Takamura snored loudly from another sofa. With a sigh, Alex muttered, "Guess I'm exploring alone."

Alex walked through the brightly lit streets, hands in his pockets. Neon signs flickered overhead, advertising bars, karaoke lounges, and restaurants. Yet, despite the vibrance, he felt an odd sense of unease.

"Maybe I'm just not used to being alone."

As he walked further, the number of streetlights decreased, and the once-busy roads became quieter. Eventually, he found himself in a dimly lit area, only a few scattered lights illuminating the street.

"Did I just get lost…?"

Just as he was about to turn back, something caught his eye.

Under the glow of a lone streetlight stood a small boy. He had messy black hair, a dirty white t-shirt, and thin, bony arms. His expression was lifeless, eyes void of emotion.

Alex took a cautious step forward. "Hey, kid."

The boy slowly lifted his gaze, his dark eyes meeting Alex's.

Alex observed him closely. He was clearly malnourished, his clothes ragged and barely fitting his small frame.

"Are you hungry?" Alex asked.

The boy remained silent, his face unreadable.

Seeing no reaction, Alex extended his hand. For a moment, there was only stillness. Then, the boy hesitated before cautiously reaching out.

Note: yu doesn't understand alex, but alex just keeps yapping

Taking his small hand in his own, Alex led him to a nearby street restaurant.

The smell of sizzling food filled the air as Alex ordered a variety of dishes. At first, the boy barely touched his meal, eating slowly and cautiously. But after noticing Alex's relaxed demeanor and warm smile, he started to eat more. Soon, he was devouring the food in front of him.

Alex leaned back, watching him with a satisfied expression.

Then, he asked, "What's your name? Do you have any family?"

The boy froze for a moment before lowering his head. He didn't respond.

Alex narrowed his eyes. Something about this kid felt familiar. Then it hit him—

"Wait… isn't this Yu from The Boxer manhwa?"

A chill ran down Alex's spine. He suddenly recalled the events from his past life. If Yu is here… then that means the legendary Coach K is probably training Aaron right now…

His thoughts raced. The system wouldn't have given me Gaolang's template if I was only meant to fight normal opponents. This confirms it—I'm going to be facing monsters in the future.

Letting out a deep breath, Alex refocused his attention on the kid. He saw himself reflected in those lifeless eyes.

After a moment of contemplation, he made up his mind.

"How about I adopt you?"

The boy blinked, clearly confused.

Alex smirked. "It seems like you don't have a guardian… and you don't even have a name. So from now on, I'll be your guardian!" He puffed out his chest in confidence.

The boy simply stared at him, still dazed.

Ignoring his silence, Alex grabbed his hand again. "Let's go."

As they walked through the streets, Alex glanced down and smiled. "From now on, your name will be Yu Makunouchi."

For the first time, the boy looked up at him—not with lifeless eyes, but with the faintest hint of a smile. It was brief, almost imperceptible, but Alex caught it.

By the time they arrived back at the hotel, Yu had returned to his emotionless state.

Ippo sat on the couch, absentmindedly watching TV, his body still sore from training. The faint sound of the door clicking open caught his attention, and he instinctively turned his head.

"You're back, Alex—" Ippo started, but his words stopped midway. His eyes widened at the sight before him.

Standing in the doorway, Alex was holding a frail, malnourished boy in his arms. The child's skin was pale, his clothes tattered, and his expression devoid of emotion. Ippo immediately stood up, pointing at the boy.

"Who's that kid?"

Alex smiled. "This is Yu Makunouchi."

Ippo's jaw nearly dropped. "You… you didn't kidnap this kid and just change his name, right?"

Alex let out a small chuckle. "He's an orphan… maybe?"

"Maybe?!" Ippo's voice rose in alarm, his face sinking in disbelief. "What do you mean by 'maybe'?"

His outburst was loud enough to wake Takamura, who was snoring on the couch. The JBC middleweight champion groggily opened his eyes, blinking at the sight of Alex carrying a child toward the bathroom.

"Who's that kid?" Takamura asked, pointing lazily at the boy.

Alex smirked. "He's my son."

Takamura's half-asleep expression twisted into confusion. His lips trembled, his eyes blinking rapidly, trying to process what he had just heard. "Huh?"

Ten minutes later, Alex was seated on the sofa, Yu now freshly showered and wearing an oversized shirt that Alex had given him. The boy lay across Alex's lap, his tiny chest rising and falling as he slept soundly. Though the shirt was too big for him, Alex made a mental note to buy proper clothes in the morning.

In front of him, Ippo and Takamura stood side by side, arms crossed, staring at Alex as if he had just announced he was moving to Mars.

Alex sighed. "What? Are you two planning to stand there staring at me until tomorrow?"

Ippo frowned. "Alex, this is bad! You can't just take in a kid out of nowhere!"

Takamura nodded. "Yeah! We'll get jailed! Does that kid even have legal papers?"

Alex waved a hand dismissively. "Relax. I'll pay someone to arrange the paperwork tomorrow so I can be his legal father."

Ippo groaned, rubbing his temples. "This is giving me a headache…"

Takamura sighed. "Taking care of a kid is a hassle, especially an eight-year-old."

Alex met his gaze, determination in his eyes. "Don't worry about it. I'll learn how to take care of him."

Takamura exhaled sharply and shrugged. "Sigh… do what you want."

Without another word, Alex carefully lifted Yu in his arms and carried him to an empty room. He laid him gently on the futon, pulling a blanket over his small frame before quietly stepping out.

The Next Morning – 7:00 AMThe scent of coffee filled the kitchen as Yagi glanced at his clipboard. "Alex, you have multiple scheduled appearances today."

At the dining table, Coach Kamogawa and Coach Shinoda were engaged in a game of chess, both sipping their morning coffee.

Suddenly, a small figure walked past them, his steps light and silent. A young boy with messy black hair, wearing an oversized t-shirt, entered the kitchen, his expression completely emotionless.

Alex, who was already making breakfast, turned around and smiled. "Yu, you're awake."

Yagi, Shinoda, and Kamogawa turned their heads toward the boy, their brows furrowing in confusion.

"Who's this kid?" Kamogawa asked, lowering his coffee cup.

"This is my son," Alex said casually.

PFFT!

Kamogawa spit out his coffee directly onto the chessboard, while Shinoda nearly choked as he gulped his drink too fast.

Yagi, mouth slightly open, stared at Alex in shock. "When the hell did you have a kid?!"

"Last night."

A long silence filled the room. Kamogawa wiped his mouth, while Shinoda thumped his chest to clear his throat. Yagi pinched the bridge of his nose.

Alex calmly explained everything as he spread peanut butter on a slice of bread. "So yeah, I adopted this orphan kid yesterday."

Shinoda raised a brow. "And what about the legal paperwork?"

Without hesitation, Alex handed the peanut butter-covered bread to Yu, who took it and started eating quietly. Then he turned to Yagi.

"Yagi-san, can you call someone to fix Yu's paperwork?"

Yagi exhaled deeply and shook his head. "I'll fix this mess…"

Kamogawa crossed his arms, nodding toward Yu. "Does anyone else know about this?"

"Ippo and Takamura do," Alex answered.

Just then, Kimura and Aoki emerged from their rooms, stretching as they walked toward the kitchen. They immediately noticed the child sitting on the table, chewing on his bread in silence.

"Who's this kid?" Aoki asked, rubbing his eyes.

Kimura nodded. "Yeah, did someone bring their nephew or something?"

Alex sighed and explained the situation again.

Aoki, arms folded, smirked. "So, you adopted a kid, huh?"

Kimura crouched beside Yu and gently poked his thin arm, causing the boy to pause mid-bite and glance at him.

"He's skinny," Kimura observed.

Alex nodded. "Yeah, because he's an orphan. But don't worry—" He placed a hand on Yu's head, ruffling his messy hair. Yu looked up at him with his usual blank expression.

"You'll get chubby soon," Alex said with a smirk.

Aoki tilted his head. "Can this kid even speak?"

Alex glanced down at Yu. "Yeah, he can."

Yu, however, remained silent, focused on his bread.

Kimura chuckled. "Probably not right now, but maybe in the future."

Hearing their conversation, Takamura entered the kitchen, yawning. He caught the last part of the discussion and snickered. "The kid probably doesn't wanna talk 'cause he's disgusted by your ugly face, Aoki."

"What was that?!" Aoki snapped, glaring at Takamura.

As usual, the two began bickering, their voices filling the kitchen.

Yagi, pinching the bridge of his nose again, sighed. "Alright, so what's your plan now, Alex?"

Alex glanced at Yu's oversized clothes before answering. "I'll do the photoshoots first. After that, I'm buying clothes for Yu."

Yagi nodded, eyeing the boy's loose shirt. "Yeah, he definitely needs something that fits."

The rest of the group nodded in agreement.

Note: ive seen multiple arguments that gaolang can mid to high diff yu in a fight so what if gaolang trained yu when he was still a kid,

( i wont make them fight tho alex see yu as he's son and will change his gloomy vibe, he will probably has a trash talking skill when he grows up.)
