Chapter 40 – What?
Nahida spent a few hours cleaning all the rooms, the main corridor upstairs, and the entire first floor. It took a long time, even with Nazuna's help.
"We've finally finished. What do you say we have a cold drink to refresh us?"
"Cold drink?"
"Yes, I've got some drinks in my freezer. Speaking of which, I have to buy a good quantity of them to start selling to customers. The people in your world will probably like soda."
"Soda? I've never heard of that before. Are you sure this is a drink? The name is a bit strange."
"Hahaha. Wait here a minute." Nazuna wiped the sweat on her forehead. She felt a little tired since she didn't have as much stamina as Nahida. As soon as she sat down, she breathed a sigh of relief.
"It's so nice to sit down...." Nazuna said happily.
Soon after, Nahida came back with two cans of Coca-Cola. He opened the can for Nazuna and handed it to her. "Try it. I'm sure you'll like it. It's quite sweet. It's not very healthy, but it's tasty."
"Nobody cares if it's healthy when it's tasty." Nazuna took a sip of her drink. She felt the cold soda go down her throat, and a feeling of satisfaction hit her.
It was as if she was being washed inside and had recovered from all the fatigue. Even though it wasn't healthy, she felt like that drink was the healthiest thing in the world.
Nazuna began to take several sips of the drink but soon stopped. "Cof... cof... cof... What's that!" She started coughing. Nahida started laughing at her and then explained why.
"Is it a gas that stays in the drink?"
"That's right. When you drink a lot of it, it can hurt your throat. It will give you a lot of discomfort and maybe hurt a bit. So it's good not to take too much at once."
"Oh yes. It's better to take it slowly, then." Nazuna drank the Coke bit by bit. As soon as she'd finished, she burped unintentionally.*burp* "Oh, I'm sorry."
"Hahaha, don't worry." Nahida also finished his soda and he stood up. "It's time to take a shower and get some rest. The evening will be here soon, and I must prepare to serve dinner to the customers."
"What about those two? The little boy and the man in the giant armor?"
"They've gone out and will be back later. They had something to do."
"I know that. I want to know how you know them. You seemed to know them."
"I didn't know them. I just wanted to be friendly."
"Ah yes, I see..."

Having finished freshening up, Nahida went to his room and showered to get all the sweat off his body. Once he felt better, he opened his hotel's system to see if he could upgrade anything.
[ Available Rooms - 1/10 ]
[ Hotel Level - 15 (1768/2500 ]
[ Guest satisfaction - 1002/10000 ]
"Hm? I've almost reached level 16. I'm gaining a good amount of experience. I have a lot of points left, but what can I do? Maybe buy more rooms?" Almost all the rooms were occupied. He could run out of rooms.
"I'll buy a new room."
[ Upgrade Points: 676 ]
"Hm?" However, when Nahida went to buy a new room, he was in for a surprise. An error had occurred. The window that appeared was colored red... An alert for him. The alert said:
[ You can't put more than 10 rooms on one floor. Buy a new floor to continue expanding your hotel. ]
[ A new floor will cost 1000 points! Collect more points and expand your hotel! ]
"..." Nahida couldn't react. He continued staring at that window in vibrant red color. It took a few seconds for him to come to his senses and click his tongue. "That fucking system."
####
Nahida would have to wait until the next day to collect enough points. Even though he was earning a good number per hour, it was still a lot of points.
"I have nothing to do in the system. So, I'll take care of this... The air conditioners. First, I must see how much money I have left."
Nahida had already decided to spend money to buy air conditioners since they would cost a lot of points.
"I have two gold coins and a few silver coins. That should be enough. But I should also remember to buy some things for Rimuru."
Nahida remembered that Rimuru wanted snacks and things from his world to eat since he missed them so much. But something like that was cheap. Nahida would only spend a little of the money.
"But I'll have to go to a big city again." Nahida knew that if he found air conditioners being sold in his area, they would probably be bad, old, or used. He would have to go to the same city that bought the televisions for Rimuru.
But dinner time had already arrived; it was evening so he would do it tomorrow.
Edward and Alphonse were already sitting at one of the tables, and Bulma wasn't there. Perhaps she wasn't hungry. In addition to Edward and Al, many "NPCs" were occupying the tables. They were all waiting anxiously for their meal.
"Nazuna, hey, Nazuna!"
"Hm? What's wrong?
"Isn't the food ready yet? The customers are waiting."
"I've just returned from the kitchen. Lucky is already finishing preparing the food. He said he started preparing the food too late."
"I never thought Lucky would be late. This is the first time it's happened. I'll go over and see if everything's all right."
"In the meantime, I'm going to talk to the customers, okay?"
"You do that."
Nahida went into the kitchen. Lucky was standing before the stove, looking at a pot full of cooked potatoes. "Hey, Lucky, what happened? Why were you late?"
After hearing Nahida's voice, Lucky looked at him. His eyes were full of tears. Contradicting everything Nahida thought about androids not having feelings, Lucky was crying.
"What happened?" Nahida asked.
The answer that came out of Lucky's mouth was surprising.
