Chapter 24 – Level 10
In a city in one alternative Japan, an unknown building appeared next to an abandoned building. The building was made of bricks and looked new, unlike the building next to it, which was abandoned and dirty.
The building had no doors, no windows, and had broken glass and garbage all over the floor. The grounds of the building were also littered with garbage—pieces of wood, broken bricks, and a lot of twisted iron.
It was like an abandoned construction site.
The two characters, a short boy wearing a uniform and holding a bag and a man in a suit, did not go toward the abandoned building but toward Nahida's hotel.
"Is this it?" The man in the suit with reddish-blonde hair asked.
"That's right; I feel a strange energy in this place." The boy with dark bowl-shaped hair said. He didn't have an expression; he said it without emotion as if he didn't care.
"Right, let's go in." The man smiled and opened the door to Nahida's hotel. The boy's eyes widened because of the strange energy coming from the hotel.
It was a unique energy that he had never felt before.
But it wasn't a spirit or a curse. It was much stronger energy. He didn't quite know what it was, but he concluded that the energy in that place was something bizarrely powerful.

Nahida saw Mob and Reigen enter the door and couldn't believe it. They were two characters he had not expected to meet.
"Huh?" Reigen raised his eyebrows and approached the counter. He looked at Nahida and analyzed him. "You're a ghost, are you?"
"Of course not." Nahida let out a laugh. "So... why are you here?" Nahida looked at Mob, and the boy took a step back.
"We came here on business."
"Business?"
"That's right; we came to exorcise a curse on this place. And I sense something strange around here. What are you hiding?" Reigen looked with sharp eyes at Nahida.
"Well... I'm not hiding anything." Nahida smiled at Mob and waited for the boy to say something.
Reigen turned to Mob, and the boy shook his head. He was a little quieter than usual. Reigen cleared his throat and walked towards the dining room.
There, he found two people sitting.
He approached them with Mob.
"Huh? What is it? Who are you?" Rin looked at the two, confused about why she was being stared at like that. "It's a little creepy if you guys stare at me like that. Stop this."
Mob looked away, but Reigen approached the table. He bent down and looked into both of their faces. Shirou didn't quite know what to say. Reigen clicked his tongue and then turned to Mob.
"We entered the wrong building. It should be the other building." Mob said. Reigen remembered the abandoned building next door and concluded that it was possible. But still, he kept thinking about how strange it was how Mob was acting.
He seemed nervous for some reason.
'Must be puberty.' Reigen shrugged and left the hotel.
After they left, Mob looked back and saw a strange golden energy start to appear on the roof of the building. It was such a powerful energy that he couldn't do anything about it.
'It's scary.' Mob didn't know who that man was and why that building emitted that aura. But he didn't want to go back there ever again.

"Haaa~~ They left so fast, I didn't even have time to offer them some tea."
After Mob and Reigen left the hotel, the conversation between Rin and Shirou ended.
"Have you two finished the conversation??" Nahida asked Rin, who was passing by the reception.
"Yes, thank you for the tea. I promise to pay next time." Rin smiled at Nahida. Her personality was better than Nahida expected. He thought she would be a boring tsundere for 100% of the time.
"No need to worry about that. So, what was that thing you two were talking about?"
"Did you listen?"
"A little. But don't worry; I won't say anything to anyone. I don't want to disrupt my employee's plans."
"That's good to hear."
"Oh, before you go, I want to ask you something. Could you tell other people about my hotel? It would help me get new guests."
"Huh? I guess so..." Rin forcedly smiled and scratched her cheek.
She said her goodbyes, and Nahida went to the "dining room", where Shirou had started cleaning the floor. Despite no guests, the tables and floor were quickly covered in dust for some unknown reason.
"That girl is very pretty. Is she your girlfriend?"
"No, she's just a friend. Didn't I tell you before?"
"Hmmm... And you like her?" Nahida sat on one of the tables and watched Shirou continue cleaning.
"No, I don't think I like her."
"That's good." With that confirmation, Nahida had a free pass to try and get a little closer to Rin from now on.
But he didn't know how regularly she would visit his hotel as he didn't know how long Shirou would be working there.
'And there's also Bulma. I can't decide which is better.' Nahida had started to think like a young pervert, but he pushed those thoughts out of his mind. It was unpleasant to be thinking only about sexual things and women's looks.
"All right, I'll go out to the market."
"Will it take long?"
"I'll probably be here before you even finish cleaning up."
####
A few days passed, and Nahida finally reached level 10. And when he reached level 10, a new feature was unlocked in the system. When he saw the description of the feature, Nahida gave a smile.
In his room, he opened the system again.
[ Currency Exchange ]
Yes, a currency exchange. He could turn money from one world into money from another world. Nahida took one of the gold coins from Rimuru's world and turned it into yen.
"That works. It's incredible. And what's with that amount? I didn't get that much money when I sold the gold coins." As if by magic, the gold coin disappeared, and in its place appeared many 10,000 yen notes. "That's good; I no longer have to sell the coins. Also, the amount of money the system gives me is bigger."
With the possibility of getting yen using the system, Nahida decided to take three days off to go to the country's capital to buy the power generator.
But before he go, he wanted to use his points to upgrade his hotel.
First, Nahida upgraded the new rooms he had bought, and then he bought another room. He now had eight rooms available in his hotel, all unoccupied. He did not have any clients.
The last customer had left the day before.
"Lucky, I'm going out for three days. I'm going to leave the hotel closed. Is that okay?"
"Are you sure you want to do that?"
"Will you take care of everything here while I'm gone?" Nahida knew Lucky couldn't do it. The only thing Lucky knew how to do was cook; he was terrible at attending to people.
"Impossible."
"I figured." Nahida left his hotel and locked the door from the outside. He was in Japan now. It was very different from Rimuru's world.
When Nahida left, his neighbor, who was always around, greeted him. She was a rather old woman. And luckily for Nahida, she didn't ask him anything about the change in his hotel.
She looked confused but "accepted" it easily as if it was no big deal. Unlike her, the convenience store clerk still didn't believe that sudden change.
Nahida did not know that the convenience store clerk had watched his hotel change before her eyes.
Nahida then rushed to the bullet train. It was still morning.
