Isekai Dungeon Architect

Chapter 9: Flexing local crypto

The potion was most certainly effective, but I could have just created another safe zone in some good inn, and that would have been my go-to healing centre.

I didn't really need that potion, but it was still good to have if the one feeding me was this pretty lady.

But, are you really telling me that stuff was 20,000 fucking coins? For real?!

"Rogue, enough. I don't want her to pay. I was just helping her.

Besides, I can just make another potion.

She has clearly been through a lot of things. Having 20,000 regional coins isn't a small thing!"

She scolded the soldier harshly, looking even more adorable to my eyes. However, what she just said, the last part especially, caught my attention.

"Did you just say 20,000 regional coins? Doesn't that convert to 2000 Status coins?"

The coins that were reflected in the status window were status coins, the highest denominations in this world.

These coins can be stored within the status window like magical currency, and one can transform them into different smaller denominations at will.

"Hmm? Are you asking whether it's 2000 Status coins? Yes, that's right. What's the matter, Miss?" She looked at me once again with those big eyes… She seems so pure.

But the one behind her is an ugly bastard.

"Ah, nothing. I'm just… extremely grateful to you for saving my life."

Apparently, regional coins, continental coins, and status coins were all a thing. Magic crypto-economy 101.

'Translation? I wasn't broke. I just needed to flex my dungeon-issued PayPel.'

Raising my hand and doing what I had practiced back in the safe zone when I was reading the black guide, I called forth the Fourth biggest denomination of the Coins.

-Ooooooooooooooooong!

As they watched, right beside the couch that I was sitting on, hundreds of coins started materialising.

These hundreds of coins filled the couch and even started spilling off the couch, making the echoing sound of metal hitting the wooden floor.

-Trrr. Trrr. Trrr.

The sound of metal hitting wood echoed like I'd just summoned capitalism itself.

And, the scene surprised the ugly soldier, as well as my pretty witch savior.

"It's 20,000. It would have been better to just take out 2,000, but as that good sir wanted, this is a complete twenty."

The status coins, the continental coins, the national coins, and then come the regional coins.

They are specific to a region and minted independently.

No one really knows how one possessing Status coins that come only from the dungeons could turn them into any kind ofregional coin, but people have stopped questioning these common things a long time ago.

"You… you…!" The ugly bastard seemed stunned to see all this money. Well, now you know this Aria Solona isn't your average, everyday, broke freeloader.

'Oh, that reminds me.'

I was so lost that I didn't ask my saviour's name either. That ugly bastard distracted me all the way.

"Excuse me, I know you're a little surprised and all, but can I ask your name? I'd still like to thank you properly for saving my life."

Ultimately, long story short, I'm inside the town or the city that I had seen from the top of the hill.

This person is somehow higher up here if someone in a soldier's armour is calling her captain, which also means making a positive connection here will pay off in the long run.

"Ah, right. I didn't introduce myself." She extended her hand for a handshake with a brighter expression, "I'm Riddle Arcage, the captain of the Westford city guards, as well as a (Level-15) Alchemist."

Captain, Alchemist, gorgeous. Great. She's a triple threat. And I'm sitting here in rags, flirting like an unemployed bard.

"Nice to meet you, Miss Riddle. You can call me Darling or dear, I'll answer to both." I flirted as I kissed the hand that was extended for a handshake. "Or you can call me Aria Solona, but that's negotiable."

I've never had a partner throughout my Cloud Architect career, but I'm not going to live like I have until now.

This is a new world, and I have to change my ways.

'Flirting with any pretty one, I don't discriminate against gender, will be one of my priorities.'

As a true patron of equality, I'll hate and love everyone equally, or at least that's the goal.

"H-huhh?" The blush on her face looked adorable.

Man, I love it when they do this. It's so freaking cute~.

"Uh, umm, A-Aria, ok. I… I got it." She pulled away her hand and blinked a few times, trying to make sense of the sudden situation.

And then she looked at the ugly face of the person behind her, who currently had a frown on his face, and suddenly returned to normal.

"Ahem. Miss Aria, please stop teasing me."

Yup, even I would find equilibrium after seeing that ugly mug.

Though it was obvious this bastard didn't like what I just did. He was angry, almost enraged.

But, well, serves him right. Why was he here to be the background character anyway?

"So Riddle… I can call you Riddle, right? If that's alright with you." Being as straight as an arrow is the key, people. Write it down.

"Umm, uh… I don't mind it. No one calls me… by my name though." She was still shy, but tried her best to hide it in front of a soldier.

But that answer was just the answer I wanted.

"Great then, Riddle.

You see, I'm new to the city, so I don't know anything about this place.

If you're free, can you show me around? Oh, if you're working right now, I can come and pick you up when you get free."

A date as soon as you open your eyes in the first-ever Fantasy city. Who wouldn't want that?

"Uh…"

Though it seems like the sudden invitation fused her brain.

She was visibly red now.

And so was the soldier who wanted to take out his sword and slit my throat right here and now.

'Well, sorry, dude. I'm gonna take your captain for a little while.'

You can stay right where you should be, though. Soldiers are the protectors.

Stay right where you belong and protect the city.

'We all will be counting on you all, hehe. Do your best!'

And while you're at it, I shall do my best to get as much out of this pretty, voluptuous lady as I can, kekeke.

'But first things first.'

If this world runs on dungeons, resources, and classes… I need to figure out where I fit in.

Because surviving the forest was one thing. Surviving society? That's the real raid boss.
