Is It Wrong to Abusing Cartoon Tropes in Dungeon?

Chapter 110: 110 Knight

In the evening of Orario, as the sun began to set, Altair left the Loki Familia's headquarters and started his journey home.

The time it took to travel from Loki Familia to Hestia Familia wasn't long, but it wasn't short either. The two familias were not near each other; they were located in opposite directions from Babel Tower, so walking between them required some time.

On Altair's way home, a group of people were quietly waiting. A cloaked figure with a hood emerged and ran into an alley, kneeling halfway before a man sitting on a crate at the far end.

"Captain, he's left."

"Finally, he's on his way."

The man on the crate was sharpening his sword with a whetstone, sparks flying from the friction between the stone and the blade.

"How long until he gets here?"

"I took a detour, but judging by his walking speed, he should be here in no more than five minutes."

"Good."

The man finally stopped sharpening his sword and slowly lifted his gaze towards the alley's entrance.

"Tell me when he arrives."

"Understood, Captain!"

A group of people stepped out from the shadows around the man, bowing to him before disappearing back into the darkness after he waved them off.

This man's name was Hyakinthos, the captain of the Apollo Familia, also known as "The Sun's Beloved." Given his title and position, it was clear that this man enjoyed the favor of the god Apollo.

First, it's important to note that Apollo is a male god, and yes, Hyakinthos is also very much a man.

Hyakinthos, deeply favored by Apollo, was part of a mostly male Apollo Familia, with a few women among them, but they were few. All the men in the Familia had been chosen by Apollo and pursued through various means, including force and manipulation. No man that Apollo set his sights on could escape.

Hyakinthos was the first man Apollo chose, and he had deep feelings of infatuation for Apollo. To put it bluntly, the Apollo Familia was a group of men led by their openly gay god, Apollo.

However, Hyakinthos was furious. Ever since Apollo returned from Denatus, he had locked himself in his room and kept repeating a single name.

"Knight Altair!"

At first, Hyakinthos thought this was a person with the title King of Knights. He thought this newcomer was far too arrogant.

Later, he realized that the person's title was "Knight," and his name was Altair.

This man had recently leveled up to LV2, breaking the record for the fastest ascent to LV2 in all of Orario, and received the title "Knight" during Denatus.

The reason he received the title was because of a portrait of him that his goddess, Hestia, had presented to the gods, and they all thought he looked very "knightly." Thus, he was given the title "Knight."

At first, this wasn't a big deal, but the problem arose when Apollo saw the portrait and fell in love with this Altair. Apollo even managed to get a copy of the portrait and began staring at it every day, becoming infatuated.

This greatly displeased Hyakinthos, who had been the god's favorite. Why should this man, Altair, steal Apollo's affection from him?

Thus, Hyakinthos borrowed the portrait from Apollo for a while, memorized Altair's face, and planned to ambush him. He wanted Altair to know that Apollo's love was something only he, Hyakinthos, could receive!

He was a veteran LV3 adventurer, while Altair was only a newly ranked LV2!

After investigating for some time, Hyakinthos finally found the perfect opportunity: Altair was walking alone. Hyakinthos prepared to ambush him on his way home.

"Has he arrived?"

A few minutes passed, and Hyakinthos grew impatient, asking the people hiding in the shadows.

"Not yet."

"Then keep watching."

"Yes."

At the alley's entrance and on the rooftop, two people kept watch from different directions, making sure not to miss anyone passing by. With few people on the streets during dusk, it was easy to spot anyone walking by.

However, what they didn't know was that Altair had already passed right in front of them.

Background Heroine!

On his way home, Altair walked alone, so there was no one to talk to. After a long time of silence, his presence had naturally diminished to the point where no one noticed him. He didn't mind this at all, as he only cared about getting home. Being unnoticed was perfect for him.

As he walked, he noticed someone peeking out from a nearby alley, half their head visible. Experience told him that this person wasn't watching him—they wouldn't have noticed him. But experience also told him that this person was definitely waiting for someone, and they didn't know who.

Could it be him?

Altair thought for a moment and began scanning his surroundings. He soon noticed another person on a rooftop opposite him, also hiding. Two people watching someone—this couldn't be good.

Suspicious, Altair jumped onto a nearby rooftop and spotted a group of people hiding in the alley, especially the man sitting on a crate, sharpening his sword. This guy clearly had the presence of a leader.

Who was this guy? Altair didn't recognize him.

definitely hasn't appeared in the anime, considering even the supporting characters like Altair aren't recognized.

Hmm?

Altair looked down at his left hand.

A dialogue box appeared, and the skill "See, I Told You!" activated.

This meant that these people had ill intentions toward him and were attempting to engage in combat.

They were targeting him!

Altair couldn't help but frown. The last time he was targeted, it was because of Lili. This time, why was he being targeted again?

It shouldn't be. The beauty goddess Freya didn't even look at him, and no one else should be paying attention to him either. He hadn't attracted any attention recently, so there was no reason for this.

Indeed, Altair hadn't actively provoked any gods recently, but what he didn't expect was that his self-portrait, the fan art of Arthur Pendragon, had caught someone's attention—and it turned out to be someone with certain... preferences.

Oh well, no matter. Since this group wanted to attack him...

Altair pulled out his sword from his spatial pocket.

Strike first! Cut them all down, burn them, and then scatter the ashes!
