Chapter 108: 108 Buff
The dungeon's 27th floor, previously ravaged by Ais's tornadoes, was now being bombarded by Lefiya's magic. Fire spells like flame lances and firestorms, as well as ice magic such as icicles and frost whirlwinds, erupted in relentless barrages, blanketing the floor with destruction.
Monsters barely had two seconds to emerge from the walls before hearing a distant chant. By the time they noticed the source, it was already too late. The incoming magic obliterated them with explosions and icy bursts.
Thanks to her abilities, Double Chant and Fairy Chant, Lefiya could sustain an unbroken series of magical attacks until her magical energy was completely drained.
Altair, standing behind Lefiya as she fought, ensured her safety and kept her motivated.
First, he wanted to make sure Lefiya wouldn't be overwhelmed, as she lacked any close-combat ability. Should a monster get too close, it could easily take her down.
Second, he kept feeding her psychological "buffs."
"Miss Lefiya, did you enjoy Miss Ais's earlier encouragement?"
"Would you like more of her support and cheering?"
"I could arrange for Miss Ais to give you even better encouragement."
"If you can flawlessly handle all the monsters here, I'll have Miss Ais let you rest your head on her lap. Soft, warm, Ais's lap. Doesn't that sound amazing?"
"Or how about a kiss on the cheek from Miss Ais? Maybe even a kiss on the lips? Surely Ais's lips must be soft, don't you think?"
"What if Miss Ais joined you for a bath? You could get as close to her as you want."
"Would you like Miss Ais to cuddle you to sleep tonight? Imagine lying in her arms, surrounded by her soothing fragrance. Even Lady Loki hasn't experienced that!"
Altair's voice was quiet, low enough that neither Ais nor Saeko could hear from a distance, but just loud enough for Lefiya to catch every word.
For Lefiya, these words were nothing short of a devil's whispers—impossible to ignore, urging her to fulfill Altair's demands as she bombarded the monsters. As she fought, her mind raced with images of the rewards Altair described.
She imagined herself succeeding and receiving Ais's affection: being held, kissed, or even bathing together. She pictured Ais's smooth skin during the bath or being embraced by Ais in bed, falling asleep with her fragrance filling her senses.
These thoughts alone were enough to keep Lefiya incredibly motivated.
The magic, which should have drained her energy, felt weightless under her excitement. Her mind fueled her relentless casting as she fired one spell after another. Wherever monsters appeared, Lefiya immediately chanted and unleashed her magic, her abilities ensuring the spells would home in on their targets.
At the center of the 27th floor, Lefiya had essentially transformed into a magical artillery turret. No monster lasted more than ten seconds after emerging. The intensity of her bombardment was so overwhelming that Altair didn't even need to step in defensively; he simply continued supporting her with encouragement.
Finally, when Lefiya's magical energy was utterly depleted and even her excitement couldn't sustain her, Altair stopped his "buffing" and called Ais over to hold her.
Completely exhausted, Lefiya managed a weak smile as Ais embraced her.
"Miss Ais, I did it," she murmured.
Even now, Lefiya's mind was occupied with the rewards Altair had promised. She was determined to collect her prize.
"Miss Ais, Lefiya worked so hard. As her teammate, don't you think she deserves some encouragement?" Altair suggested with a smile.
"Yes! Lefiya, you did amazing."
Ais, as straightforward as ever, believed that Altair simply wanted her to cheer Lefiya on. Following his earlier instructions, Ais hugged Lefiya tightly and placed a gentle kiss on her cheek.
"Ah~~ Ais's reward~~"
The unexpected reward left Lefiya overjoyed. Her eyes rolled back, and with a blissful smile on her face, she fainted on the spot. Her magical energy was completely spent, leaving her unconscious.
"Lefiya?"
Ais panicked at Lefiya's sudden collapse and turned to Altair for answers. He waved his hand dismissively, completely unconcerned.
"Don't worry. She's just exhausted. Miss Ais, could you carry her for now? Our mission is complete for the day—it's time to head back."
"I understand."
Following Altair's suggestion, Ais gently lifted Lefiya onto her back, positioning her head to rest on her shoulder.
Perhaps sensing the closeness even in her unconscious state, Lefiya's expression became even more serene. The faint fragrance of Ais's hair near her neck seemed to enhance Lefiya's peaceful smile.
"Alright, Saeko, let's start gathering up the magic stones. There's a lot of them scattered around here—that's today's haul," Altair instructed.
"Indeed, today's rewards are exceptional," Saeko agreed.
While Ais carried Lefiya and was unable to collect magic stones herself, Altair and Saeko diligently picked up all the stones. They gathered the ones dropped by the monsters Ais had defeated earlier, as well as those left behind by Lefiya's relentless magical bombardments. With the stones secured, the group began their journey back out of the dungeon.
Once they exited the dungeon, they made their way to the Guild to exchange the magic stones for valis. However, the Goliath stone was excluded from the exchange. Thanks to his spatial storage item, Altair had no concerns about carrying its bulk and decided to bring it back directly.
After exchanging the remaining magic stones for valis, Altair split the earnings equally, giving half to Ais and Lefiya while keeping the other half for himself.
"This is my share for the work today."
With the exchange complete, Altair asked Saeko to return to the familia headquarters while he accompanied Ais and Lefiya back to the Loki Familia. He wanted to report the day's training results directly to Loki.
