Chapter 179: Loki In Action~
Ottar too departed without turning back.
"I thought as much."
------------------------------------
After Fron's figure appeared from deep within the passage, the battle between Cranel and the minotaur warrior had already ended.
A casual glance showed that Raul had given him some potion to drink and was performing some simple bandaging.
"Done talking with Ottar?" Finn greeted Fron with a smile.
Now that Fron had reached Lv.5, his combat power ranked among the top within the entire Familia.
Everyone no longer carried the same worry they once had when he was still inexperienced. Instead, what they felt was confidence in him.
"Ah, it was a little embarrassing, honestly…"
Clicking his tongue, Fron recalled his opponent's flawless human combat techniques and excellent strategy, which made his face twitch involuntarily.
Finn chuckled.
He had already expected this outcome, after all, as an old timer, he knew the opponent's strength all too well.
Perhaps… Fron would need more sparring sessions with him before he could catch up with the older generation. For now he still needed more tempering.
"This boy is your acquaintance. What do you think we should do with him?"
Finn shifted the topic to the unconscious Cranel.
"Ah, just have someone escort him back to the Guild headquarters. The treatment area there should be fine."
"It's no problem, not troublesome at all."
Soon, Finn assigned a member without any immediate tasks to carry Cranel back to the surface.
Afterwards, the group re-equipped themselves and once again set out on their journey.
...
A few days later, while the Loki Familia continued their "Expedition," advancing toward unknown territory, in the surface city, yet another gathering of the Gods' Meeting [Denatus] was being held.
What made this one different was that Loki was unusually enthusiastic about attending, because another of her children had reached Lv.5.
By convention, whenever an adventurer advanced to the next rank, they could be granted a new title.
Lv.2–Lv.3 were considered third-rank adventurers, Lv.4 second-rank adventurers, and Lv.5 and above first-rank adventurers.
As for why Fron had no new title at Lv.4, it was simply because he leveled up too fast. Barely days after the last Denatus, he had already advanced to Lv.4, and before the next one could even be held, he was already Lv.5.
It was said that when the adventurer nicknamed [Flame Demon] advanced to Lv.5, people even opened bets on the matter.
Some lost their fortunes, and some who boasted they would do ridiculous things if he leveled up within a year and a half actually had to fulfill their humiliating promises.
Babel Tower, 30th Floor, "The Pantheon."
"Loki, you came early today. Looks like you're in a good mood?" The goddess Hephaestus greeted her close friend, having arrived early.
"Well, my Fron has advanced to Lv.5! I need to secure him a good title, so of course I came early."
The red-haired goddess blinked her single eye and teased: "You're the famous Loki. Who would dare mess around with your child's title? They'd have to have a death wish."
"Hmph, don't be so sure! I've got arch-enemies too. If that lovestruck goddess rallies support, she'll be a pain to deal with!"
"Haha, you two… Oh, and there's a new face at this Meeting. Can you guess who?"
Loki sat beside Hephaestus, suspiciously glancing around.
"Who? These are all the same old faces, aren't they?"
"Look, here they come!"
"--?"
Following Hephaestus's gaze, Loki also saw the god entering through the door… and her expression froze.
"What?! That little runt!!!!!!!!!!!!"
"Oi oi, look at this!"
"The clash between the Goddess of Flatness and the Magnificent Loli begins again!"
"Hahaha, turns out it's Hestia and Loki! This Meeting is worth attending just for this!"
"I love watching those two fight. Though last time I bet on Hestia and lost horribly…"
"What about this time!?"
"Obviously, I'll bet on Loki! I heard one of her kids already reached Lv.5!"
"No way, wasn't he just Lv.4 at the last Meeting?"
"Idiot, that was the one before last, he was Lv.3 then!"
"Phew… too strong. And haven't you noticed? Hestia attending this Meeting means her child leveled up too. Don't forget, she only has one Familia member, who joined less than two months ago. That speed… rivals even the [Flame Demon]'s promotion to Lv.2!"
"Meh, the [Flame Demon] is special, you know that. His fame isn't just from his level, he's got strength, technique, experience, plus [Blacksmith] and [Mystery]. A fully developed genius with deep foundations, not to mention that bug-like skill of his…"
"Ah, I really envy Loki's luck. When will I ever meet such an outstanding child?"
"Hmph! Silence, all of you!"
The confrontation between Loki and Hestia ended. Then… Loki, Fron's patron goddess, strode arrogantly to the central table, slammed one foot on it, swept her sharp gaze around, and sneered:
"If you've got business, spit it out fast so we can get this over with and go eat!"
"Wow, Loki's presiding this time? I thought it'd be Ganesha again."
"Look, Ganesha's over there on guard duty!"
"I am Ganesha!"
"Shut up, you idiot!"
With a sharp shout, Loki made Ganesha become silent, scratching his head.
"I doubt you boring lot have anything worthwhile. So let's skip all the trivial matters and move straight to the last agenda item!"
"Bestowing titles on the newly advanced adventurers!!!!"
"Here we go, here we go! My favorite part!"
"Hahaha, time for some unlucky kid to get stuck with a cursed title!"
"Can't wait!"
...
The convening of the Gods' Meeting signified that Fron would soon receive a new title. But at that very moment, in the "Deep Floors," on the 49th floor, the young magic swordsman was fiercely battling, completely unconcerned with such things.
"[Fire Bolt]!"
Boom!
In the canyon, a mass of large monsters was reduced to dust by the ultra-high-speed magic that Fron had amplified several times.
"Hey hey, Fron, take it easy, will you? Try to control yourself a bit! Even the magic stones are being blasted into ashes!"
