IRON MAN: BROTHER DON'T CAUSE TROUBLE

Chapter 32: 32. Star Wizard

In a vast desert, with endless sand stretching to the horizon, a figure suddenly appeared out of thin air. The man, Jhon, collapsed onto the ground, clutching his stomach as he began to vomit uncontrollably. His face was pale, and sweat poured down his brow as if he'd just run a marathon.

After a few agonizing moments, Jhon finally managed to sit upright and patted his chest to calm his racing heart.

"Fuck, this teleportation ability is shit," he muttered, his voice hoarse.

It was the first time he'd ever used teleportation, and it was far more terrifying than he'd imagined. The sensation of being squeezed and twisted from all directions was almost unbearable. But Jhon wasn't one to give up so easily.

Taking in his surroundings, he found himself in the middle of a lifeless desert, with no signs of civilization or life in sight. He scratched his head, trying to make sense of what had gone wrong.

"Damn it. I must've lost focus during the teleportation and got thrown off-course," he grumbled. "I need to concentrate properly while being squeezed, or I'll keep landing in random places."

After resting for a while to recover his strength, Jhon decided to try again. He closed his eyes, tapped into thin air in front of him, and conjured a shimmering, water-like portal. Focusing intently on Tony's location, he stepped through without hesitation.

The same horrifying sensation of being compressed hit him like a wave, but this time, Jhon gritted his teeth and powered through. In an instant, he was ejected into a small, cluttered workshop.

Tony, who had been engrossed in analyzing a holographic screen, jumped in alarm at the sudden appearance of his brother. He turned around to see Jhon sprawled on the floor, his face pale as a ghost.

"Jhon? Are you okay?" Tony asked, rushing over.

Jhon waved him off weakly. "I'm fine. Just a side effect of teleportation."

"Teleportation? Did you just…teleport here?" Tony's eyes widened in disbelief.

With a faint smirk, Jhon pushed himself to his feet. "Of course. Remember those three runes I gave you? One of them was the positioning rune. After inscribing all three, they fused into something new—a teleportation rune. That's how I got here. Oh, and one more thing…I just broke through to senior apprentice wizard."

Tony's jaw dropped. "You broke through? Already? I thought it'd take you at least another six months at the rate you were going."

Jhon chuckled, pride evident in his tone. "That's the magical part. After reaching 10 points in mental power, the inscribing process became much smoother. It only took me four months to inscribe the last two runes."

Tony nodded thoughtfully. "I see. That's impressive. But here's the thing—I've already inscribed seven runes, and the positioning rune isn't one of them. That means I'll have to give up on teleportation for now."

Jhon shrugged, though he felt it was a pity. "No big deal. Once you break through, you'll have the chance to inscribe it. By the way, what's all this?" He gestured to the holographic screen, his curiosity piqued. "It looks familiar."

Tony's expression brightened. "Ah, perfect timing. I was going to call you about this anyway." He turned to the screen, displaying four images side by side.

"Take a look," Tony began. "This first image was taken when you started meditating for the first time. The second image is from when you reached the peak of low apprentice wizard. The third is when you reached the peak of middle apprentice wizard, and the last one represents you now."

Jhon leaned in closer, examining the images.

Tony continued, "Notice the changes. In the second image, your skin became tougher than in the first. By the third image, both your skin and muscles had grown significantly stronger. And now, in this fourth image, your bones are beginning to show signs of reinforcement. All of this is due to the particle energy we've been absorbing during meditation."

Jhon frowned, deep in thought. "So, the energy isn't just helping us with spells and runes—it's enhancing our physical bodies as well?"

"Exactly," Tony said. "It's gradual, but with every breakthrough, our bodies adapt and grow stronger."

Tony looked at the focused John and continued, "Based on the direction we're progressing, I can confidently say that once the reinforcement of the bones is complete, the next phase will involve organs. And after that, only one thing remains...."

Without hesitation, John muttered, "The brain."

"Exactly," Tony affirmed. "And that's why I believe we need to rename this stage. Something like 'Middle Apprentice Wizard' or 'Senior Apprentice Wizard is no longer appropriate ."

John nodded thoughtfully. "According to the novels we've read, they typically describe only three stages before becoming a formal wizard. But with our calculations, there are clearly five stages. So, yeah, the name needs to be adjusted. What do you think we should do about it?"

Seeing that John agreed with his proposal, Tony's mood brightened. "Don't worry about that. I've been thinking about this for a long time," he said with a smile.

"And?" John pressed.

"How about 'Star Wizard'?" Tony suggested, anticipation in his voice.

"Star Wizard…" John murmured, the words resonating in his mind. He recalled the spiritual sea where the runes shimmered like stars in a vast starry sky.

"It's a fitting name," John thought to himself. Then, turning to Tony, he said, "So I should be a Third-Level Star Wizard, right?"

Tony shook his head. "No. If our theory is correct, and these stages are just sublevels within a greater tier, calling it 'Level 3' wouldn't feel appropriate. I think it should be called the 'Third Stage Star Wizard,' while I would be the 'Second Stage Star Wizard.'"

John considered this for a moment. "That makes sense. And after reaching the Fifth Stage Star Wizard, we could finally advance to a formal wizard."

"Exactly," Tony said with a grin. "Or we could even call it a 'Second Star Wizard' to signify an evolution into the next big level."

(Finally, it's done. I always felt awkward calling them "Middle Apprentice Wizard" and "Senior Apprentice Wizard," so I changed it. Please let me know if you like it or not.)
