Invincible Dad

Chapter 365 Why Should Women Make It Hard for Other Women_1

Her clothes were torn, but nothing was revealed underneath.

This was because the woman's body was immense, nearly three meters tall, with her pale arms and calves covered in black fur. Her delicate features twisted, shockingly turning into a wolf's head!

Standing on her hind legs, she cocked her head to look at Luo Chu, her eyes brimming with mockery. "Turn myself in? You think I would do something so stupid?"

"A demon..." Luo Chu's expression shifted subtly.

Over the years, the Human Race and the Demon Race had approached peace. More precisely, the Demon Race had been forced into peace. Due to the numerous types of demons, they could not unify as one. While the overall strength of the Human Race was slightly weaker, they still managed to suppress the Demon Race.

In terms of cunning, humans were far, far stronger than demons.

Thus, by granting the demons residences on land, along with access to one Dragon Vein and two Spirit Veins, the humans and demons coexisted without interfering with one another. Demons who were allowed to live in large human cities needed a residence permit, the issuance of which came with many restrictions and conditions.

Luo Chu never expected that the arsonist today would be a demon, a crime with consequences far more grave than if committed by a human.

The Wolf Girl bared her sharp fangs, a sinister smile on her lips. "I'll give you one chance. Get out of here now, and I won't kill you."

As she spoke, a terrifying pressure began to spread through the area.

Luo Chu's expression changed once more. This pressure was comparable to that of a peak Ninth Grade human, perhaps even stronger! She was merely at the mid-stage of the Ninth Grade. Not to mention, she was pregnant; there was no way she could be a match for this demon.

As she hesitated, a sigh reached her ears. "Why did you steal the Spiritual Artifact?"

Luo Chu turned at the sound and saw Xu Lai! He was sauntering over slowly.

The Wolf Girl squinted. She remembered him. When her boyfriend had been rambling on, this man and his two small children had been nearby.

But... this guy says this broken coin is a Spiritual Artifact? Ridiculous!

Her large, bell-like eyes gleamed with mockery. "Do you really take me for a fool? This is a Spiritual Artifact? It's just a broken Copper Coin!"

Xu Lai blinked, his expression turning odd. "You didn't know this is a Spiritual Artifact? Then why did you steal it...?"

"You must have heard my boyfriend's rambling. He's an archaeology graduate student with only three days off a month, and this is the third time he's dragged me here this month." A look of pain crossed the Wolf Girl's face. "I've had enough! I'm going to destroy it!"

So he brings her to the museum on every single one of his days off? That's not just emotionally clueless... the guy's a solid block of steel...

Xu Lai actually felt a bit of sympathy for this little demon. "Put down the Copper Coin," he said lightly, "and I'll let you leave."

"Xu Lai, you mustn't!" Luo Chu said sternly. "I appreciate you coming to help, but we absolutely cannot let a criminal who threatens the peace between humans and demons go free!"

"Why must a woman make things so hard for another woman," Xu Lai sighed.

"She's a demon, not a woman," Luo Chu corrected him.

"Hoh hoh hoh."

The Wolf Girl no longer stood upright. She crouched on all fours, her body tensing as she let out a low, ominous laugh.

"So it's true. Humans have always been hypocrites, never seeing us as companions, only as beasts." Speaking to herself, the Wolf Girl muttered, "If that's the case... then you can all just die!"

The moment she finished speaking, the Wolf Girl's figure flickered, transforming into a streak of light that shot behind Luo Chu in an instant. Her claws, sharp enough to pierce a fifty-centimeter-thick steel door, descended heavily, aiming to crush Luo Chu's head.

BOOM!

A sense of crisis flared in Luo Chu's mind. Her scalp prickled with alarm, knowing that a direct hit from this claw would be fatal. She instinctively threw herself to the left.

BANG!

Luo Chu narrowly dodged the claw. It slammed into the five-meter-tall tree that had been behind her. In an instant, the massive tree cracked and splintered, disintegrating into dust that scattered in the wind.

"Not a bad reaction." The Wolf Girl's lips curled into a smirk, but on her wolfish face, the expression was particularly unnerving and gruesome.

"Xu Lai, go get reinforcements," Luo Chu said, her face slightly pale. "I'll hold her off!"

Luo Chu knew Xu Lai was a Martial Artist, but she didn't know his exact Boundary. She guessed it was probably similar to hers, or perhaps even lower. In that case, they had no chance of winning a two-on-one fight. It was better to send Xu Lai for help.

"Hah, how naive."

The Wolf Girl's figure vanished again. When she reappeared, she was once more behind Luo Chu, only this time she was unbelievably fast.

Luo Chu didn't even react until the claws touched her neck. Her body was instantly soaked in a cold sweat.

What kind of speed is this? So fast there's no room to react!

The Wolf Girl was about to pierce Luo Chu's throat when her body suddenly stiffened. At such close range, she could faintly hear her prey's heartbeat.

Not one.

But two.

The second heartbeat was very faint. It was... a new life.

The Wolf Girl hesitated for a moment, then retracted her sharp claws. Instead, she punched Luo Chu in the temple before her figure retreated dozens of meters, vanishing into the forest to escape.

"Ugh..."

The punch made Luo Chu's vision go dark for a moment. The demon's punch looked forceful, but it was actually quite light. Still, it was enough to temporarily rob Luo Chu of her ability to fight.

Luo Chu was puzzled, unable to understand why the demon hadn't killed her, delivering such a light blow instead. It was truly baffling.

She stumbled to her feet, ready to give chase.

Xu Lai said softly, "I'll go. If anything happened to you, I'd have a hard time explaining it to Ruan Tang."

"You?" Luo Chu hesitated. If Xu Lai got hurt, how could she explain it to Ruan Tang?

"Don't worry." Xu Lai smiled and sauntered after the Wolf Girl.

Luo Chu tried to channel her Spiritual Energy to follow him, but she was shocked to find that although his pace seemed slow, each step covered a hundred meters.

She couldn't keep up!

All she could do was watch helplessly as Xu Lai disappeared from view. After careful consideration, she decided to wait there for his return. At the same time, she pulled out her phone and called the Martial Dao Association for backup.

* * *

The forest wasn't large. Leaping from branch to branch, the Wolf Girl quickly exited the trees and headed for the coast.

Apparently annoyed by the pursuit, she spun around and lashed out with her claw. Against Xu Lai, this demon showed no mercy. Her claws seemed to grow in the wind, transforming into three spiritual energy blades, each one hundreds of feet long, that swept toward Xu Lai, threatening to slice him into three pieces.

However, Xu Lai didn't even try to block, allowing the attack to land on him.

CRACK!

The enormous claw blades shattered the moment they hit him.

"What!?"

The Wolf Girl gasped, staring as if she had seen a ghost. Forget anything else, even a peak Ninth Grade human Martial Artist could never have blocked that attack so easily.

"Stop running," Xu Lai said calmly. "Hand over the Copper Coin. Since you held back and spared my friend just now, I won't kill you."

"I don't kill women," the Wolf Girl snarled, seemingly unwilling to accept Xu Lai's mercy.

"It was because you couldn't bring yourself to kill the baby, wasn't it?"

"Shut up! I just didn't want my boyfriend to smell the blood on me," the Wolf Girl glared fiercely.
