Chapter 7: Chapter 7: Uninvited Guest
Qin Ming casually tossed the now useless short knife aside, planning to find a way to deal with it later.
He quickly took out the blood-red key, ready to open it, but suddenly paused.
Staring at the key in his hand, he hesitated.
"Wait a minute... can these keys be fused together?"
What would two blood-red keys combine into? A deeper red key?
After pondering for a moment, Qin Ming shrugged and decided to open it anyway.
He suddenly remembered something important: there were only five adventurers in this world.
He had already killed the burly man. The guy who left the bar first appeared to have been killed by the burly man as well. And then there was the unlucky guy who got blown up by that crazy woman.
That made three down, leaving only him and the crazy woman.
Hoping to get her blood-red key wasn't going to be easy. After all, she was ruthless, quick-witted, and extremely dangerous.
To be honest, Qin Ming didn't want to mess with someone like her unless absolutely necessary.
So instead of waiting for the next blood-red key, it was safer to use this one now and gain some combat power.
When he opened the key, a new weapon appeared in front of him—a short sword that resembled a dagger, with whiteboard attributes.
Clearly, to the Nightmare Space, these newly initiated adventurers were worth little more than that.
He gave the short sword a few swings before quickly stowing it in his inventory, then picked up the short knife and hung it at his waist.
Satisfied, Qin Ming set off to continue hunting members of the poaching gang.
Killing these guys had a chance of dropping loot boxes—usually white ones containing things like cash, watches, or necklaces that could be traded for points.
Even if the loot was meager, every little bit helped. Plus, he could use their boxes to test if they could be fused.
If it worked, maybe he could upgrade his revolver further by fusing white weapons!
With dreams of future upgrades, Qin Ming cheerfully set out once again.
This time, he planned to go big.
Using information he had extracted from his previous victims, Qin Ming soon arrived in front of a large building.
This, according to his sources, was the headquarters of the poaching gang in this city. There should be plenty of enemies inside.
With his powerful revolver, capable of one-shot kills, and his doubled stats, it would be a massacre!
He'd do the killing, and his gun would do the butchering!
Standing at the entrance, Qin Ming quickly adjusted his hairstyle, took a deep breath, and kept one hand on the revolver hidden inside his coat. The other hand tugged at his coat, ready to pull it open at a moment's notice as he confidently strode inside.
He pushed open the door, walked into the room, and immediately raised his gun!
Then... he spun on his heel, quickly holstering the revolver and walked right back out of the building.
Inside the hall, about twenty people, who had been eating and drinking together, turned to look at the source of the noise, confused by the man who had entered and exited so suddenly.
The group of poachers stared at each other in bewilderment.
"Is that your friend?"
"Nope. Is he yours?"
"I don't know him. Who was that guy?"
"Who cares? No one would dare cause trouble here. Let's drink!"
Unconcerned, they shrugged off the strange interruption and went back to their meal.
As for Qin Ming, he was now leaning against the wall outside the building, wiping the cold sweat from his forehead.
"Damn it! That scared the hell out of me! How could there be so many people?!"
Looking at his revolver with only six bullets, and recalling the twenty-plus enemies inside, Qin Ming couldn't help but twitch.
Good thing I didn't reflexively start shooting! With how slow I reload, I'd be dead before I could finish reloading!
No way I can fight them all head-on! I need to come up with a plan to take them out one by one.
Frowning in concentration, Qin Ming began strategizing, but before he could figure out a plan, he suddenly heard footsteps behind him.
A low voice spoke.
"Buddy, you were way too reckless just now."
Startled, Qin Ming instinctively turned and raised his revolver!
Before he could fully aim, a shadowy figure rushed toward him, grabbing his hand and jamming a finger into the trigger guard, preventing him from firing.
With immense strength, the person forced Qin Ming's hand high into the air.
As his vision cleared, Qin Ming saw that standing before him was a stunningly beautiful woman with dark, curly hair.
She wore a tight, revealing red shirt that barely covered her impressive figure, and tight jeans that accentuated her long legs. With boots and a curvaceous body, this Western beauty exuded both charm and danger.
The woman, standing close and controlling Qin Ming's gun, leaned in and spoke with a teasing smile.
"Your reaction's too slow, little guy. You'll get yourself killed fighting like that."
But before she could finish her sentence, Qin Ming suddenly leaned forward and kissed her on the lips.
The woman's eyes widened in shock at the unexpected move, and she hurriedly stepped back, distancing herself from him.
Taking advantage of the moment, Qin Ming quickly freed himself from her grip and lowered his arm, aiming his revolver at her.
Just as he was about to pull the trigger, a loud shout came from the side. A massive figure lunged at Qin Ming, kneeing him in the chest and sending him flying backward.
The burly man who had attacked him wore a fierce expression and charged at Qin Ming again.
Still on the ground, Qin Ming raised his revolver, ready to shoot the incoming man.
But before things could escalate, the woman, who had been wiping her mouth, suddenly yelled, "Stop! This is a misunderstanding!"
Both men froze in place.
After a moment of hesitation, Qin Ming lowered his weapon.
Not because he was convinced, but because these two seemed too strong, and he wasn't sure he could win against both of them.
Better safe than sorry. There'd be another chance to ambush them later.
