Infinite Wealth System: Crazy Tasks, Insane Rewards!

Chapter 183: Rage

Turns out that Katie was alive in the end, and even though the death of the rest broke Jayden's heart times over, he still had to cling to the fact that he still had Katie.

Tom, Vena... Teresa. They were amongst the two thousand and thirty-five who lost their lives in the blast.

A mass burial was conducted for them the very next day, and Jayden would have to take Katie with him to the island.

At this point, it was clear that the only person she had left was him, and he wouldn't be taking any chances to leave her for anyone else.

Jayden really had a strong affection for his little half-sister, and he would make sure nothing happens to her.

...

On their way heading back to the island, Jayden had to ask her some questions. Of course he knew this wasn't the best time, but he was just too curious to hold on.

"How... How she meet her?" He asked with a faint tone.

Katie raised her head towards him and turned down at once. She was silent for a while, but then spoke up.

"I was in our room alone when she came to me. I didn't know how she got in, but... She looked kind," she said as she turned her head.

"She asked me to come with her so she could show me a beautiful flower garden outside. I wanted to see some beautiful flowers, so I followed her through backdoor. When we got out, we never reached the flower garden before our house blew up."

Katie's face was faint, but he understood every bit of all that she said. Even Camilia and Temi had listened, even though they still had no idea who the little girl was to him.

Jayden pulled her softly for a hug, the grief growing hard in his heart.

He didn't knew why, but all he was feeling... It wasn't sadness... It wasn't shock...

Rage.

Jayden's heart was getting hotter and hotter with every second that passed. A huge force was pushing him to go with a strike back that would wipe out the entire land of Icelandia, because nothing could convince him that they didn't deserve.

"I... I am sorry for what happened, sweetheart. We'll make sure to take care of you, okay?" Temi said.

Katie turned to her and have a faint nod that was hard to notice, before resting back on her half-brother's arms.

It was when they reached the island that Jayden decided to tell them everything.

"My mother Naylah. It's her daughter. She is my half-sister, and I have made up my mind to take care of herz despite what my mother did to me," Jayden said right in front of the whole ladies.

It was clear that they hadn't expected him to have any connection to do with the affairs of his late mother, but there he was, showing how soft-hearted he is again today.

However, they all understood that the little kid deserves every good she'd get because none of what had happened was her fault.

The fact that she was the daughter of Jayden's mother made it clear.

It's his responsibility.

.....

Soon, they gathered to figure how to counter the current case.

"Now that they had gotten the weapon that can penetrate our defences, I'm sure Liam must be preparing on firing against every part of Nortasia right now," Becky said.

"That's right. If we don't act quick, we'd be doomed. But the question we should be asking is... How did he figure it out so easily?" Charlotte asked.

The realisation hit them, because for sure, it had taken Harper bags of sweat to build the Aegis V. How would they be able to break it within days?

It was already worrying, but Jayden didn't want to believe that it was a weapon expert from Icelandia, because he knew that wasn't the case.

"It must be someone who knew something well about us," he stated.

"Where's Harper?" Temi suddenly asked.

"She locked herself in her private workshop since yesterday. Refused to come out. I think she is figuring out a way to get outta this mess... Oh right there... She's here," Paula pointed at the entrance as they all spotted Harper entering the room with her hair really tattered.

"Harper... What's wrong?" Jayden asked.

"Nothing really... Hey, I have got good news, and a bad news too. The bad news would have to come with an apology," she said.

They all exchanged glances after hearing that, but they were all ears.

"I'll start from the good news... I found the theory of how to break through their defense, and attack every crucial points. And the bad news is that..."

She paused and sighed.

"The bad news is that I know who showed them how to penetrate the defence," she added.

Jayden raised his with widened eyes, but believing that statement no matter how it sounded straight.

"It was... Sofia. She was present when we figured the theory, but I was never planning to create the Aegis V then. She probably would have remembered and told them to try using the negative force. I'm so sorry," Harper said.

Jayden hearing that, couldn't hold the emotions.

He quickly walked out of the office, not because he was mad at Harper, but because he was so mad that Sofia had become too evil to plot against her win country.

It was more than unbelievable, but what more could he expect from someone who killed her own mother?

Once again, that rage continued to grow, remembering every destruction Icelandia had dropped on Nortasia without getting hit tenfold back.

Tom, Vena, Teresa.

They are all dead because of this, and even many other innocent lives.

Jayden couldn't take it anymore. No, he wouldn't.

He walked back into Charlotte's office and struck a death look.

"Does the Ice-Sat-03 has the ability to break through any defence?" He asked.

"Yes?" Charlotte replied with a curious look.

"Good. Launch a nuclear device on them. Now," Jayden stated.

"Huh? Ummmm... It's going to wipe out..."

"I said do it! That's an order," Jayden bellowed this time, stunning them.

Well, it's been pretty long since they had seen him in that tone, or had never. Today, he was just like an erupting volcano, one that wouldn't think before he makes any harm.

Charlotte wouldn't dare to hesitate, as she suddenly logged in into the satellite access account.

There was a large list of nuclear weapons, but she went ahead to choose the Destroyer, one of Icelandian's most deadliest bombs.

A blast from it could cause an entire nation falling to ruins in no time, and there was no doubt about that.

Charlotte have him an hesitant look before hitting the "launch" button, and he appeared like he wasn't feeling anything at all.

Paula approached him at once, placing one hand on his shoulder.

"There are over four hundred million people in Icelandia, Jayden. It would be a complete unforgiving massacre to do this, and I'm sure you wouldn't be able to get it over your head and live with it," she said.

Jayden still stood still, not even sparing a glance.

"One thousand five hundred feet until impact..." Charlotte mused.

The rest of the ladies had to approach him, knowing really well that he wasn't himself right there.

There was no way he would be so okay with wiping out hundreds of millions of people in an entire nation, not at this cost.

The only enemy was President Liam Thompson and probably his subordinates. No innocent lives had to be lost.

Even Jayden himself knew that, and soon he was getting back to his right senses.

"One thousand tow hundred feet until impact..."

Jayden suddenly shook his head and clenched his fist.

"Direct it to the ocean," he said as he walked out of the office immediately, with Camilia following up at once.

"He'll be fine."

******

The familiar footsteps approached the cell, and she smiled when she noticed the unfamiliar tone of approach this time.

It was hurried with rage, but with pleasure and smoothness.

Sofia smiled.

President Liam approached the cell and gave her a straight look.

"It worked," he said.

"Yeah, I know. Your approach changed today," Sofia said almost nonchalantly.

President Liam chuckled and appeared silent for a moment before continuing.

"The experts have been working on other points. As soon as they are set, we'll launch a whole lot of missiles on them."

"Well, good for you. He would have taken the advantage anyway. You should thank me," she said.

President Liam glared at her, and she glared back. But then, she saw him bring out the keys from his suit pocket and opened the cell door.

She expected as much, and couldn't help a smile.

"You have earned yourself my trust. It's time to get out of this shitty cell," he said as he forced a smile at her.

"Just say you need help finding how to launch more successful attacks. That would be a better wording," Sofia rolled her eyes before walking out of the cell.

"Hmm-mm," Liam hummed.

She then stopped after walking a few inches.

"One favor. We should lunch no attacks on the island. When we destroy everything, they'd be weak, and the Icelandian Army would do the rest of the job on the island. I want Jayden and the ladies alive," she stated.

"No, I I'm not leaving him for ya. I want Jayden."

Sofia gritted her teeth and nodded.

"The ladies?" She then asked.

"Deal..." President Liam nodded.
