Chapter 119: Charge!!
[Beastify Nation.]
[Next Day - 6:25 AM.]
Jade moved through the pre-dawn gloom, a shadow among shadows. Her body was held low, her senses on high alert as she advanced toward the massive city wall. Behind her, her ten thousand soldiers followed in perfect silence, a disciplined tide of steel and intent.
On the five thousand battleships hovering out of orbit, another ten thousand soldiers waited, their fingers poised over weapons systems, ready to unleash hell on the sleeping city at her command.
Jade stopped, her gaze fixed on the ten guards on the wall, who patrolled with a relaxed air, their eyes sweeping over the open landscape before them.
"Stay quiet and in formation... Those with silence rifles, take them down... Remember, you must shoot in one go. Make sure none of them notice the other falling," Jade whispered. The two personal soldiers behind her nodded, silently passing the order down the ranks.
Ten of their sharpshooters moved forward, their movements fluid and practiced. Using the last vestiges of darkness as their cover, they knelt, raised their long rifles, and aimed.
"Three..." Jade said, her eyes narrowed on the ten unsuspecting guards.
"Two." She continued, her heart pounding a steady rhythm of anticipation. This was the moment. If she could take Josephine hostage, or even the God Wolf's daughter, they could secure victory and take back the artifact. No matter what, she must take it back.
"One—"
BOOOOOOM!!!!!
".....?!!"
Jade and all ten thousand of her soldiers flinched, their heads snapping to the sky. A symphony of fiery explosions tore through the silence as countless battleships fell from the heavens, all consumed in a cascade of flames.
'This?! Aren't those our ships?' Jade's mind screamed in mild horror.
"It can't be! There are five thousand battleships waiting outside the planet, and ten thousand soldiers In them... they can't just be taken down," the man standing on her right stammered, his face pale with shock.
"They've been discovered, but we can still attack!" Jade yelled, her eyes filled with frantic resolve. She looked up at the ten soldiers on the wall, only to see them staring down at her, their swords already drawn.
"What the fuck?!!"
She and her two personal soldiers leaped backward, just as the ten figures on the wall leaped down, a golden blur of motion. As they descended, their swords flashed, separating the heads of the ten unsuspecting men with the sniper rifles in one brutal, swift motion.
BAM!!
The ten figures landed on the ground, their golden armor glittering in the growing light.
"Grand-class mercenaries?" Jade was stunned, her voice barely a whisper.
"No... something isn't right. A grand-class mercenary shouldn't have such high stats," the woman beside her said in a voice filled with horror.
{Name: No 1,000.}
{Race: N/A.}
{Bloodline: N/A.}
{Rank: Divine Rank stage 5.}
{Strength: 5,000.}
{Agility: 5,000.}
{Stamina: 5,000.}
{Defense: 5,000.}
{Attack: 5,000.}
{Celestial energy: 5,000.}
{Magic resistance: 5,000.}
{Skills: Chains of the Abyss.}
Due to the system upgrade, all created mercenaries gained a huge boost in all their stats, making them one of the deadliest forces in the world. Each one had the power to single-handedly fight a Divine-Rank warrior.
"Impossible! A mercenary's limit is that of a Celestial Rank, but these ten before us could take on a Divine Rank at the fifth stage. Of course, the Divine rank won't be in armor." the guy muttered in utter shock.
At that moment, all ten thousand of their soldiers stood behind them. Their cover was blown, so hiding was out of the question.
"How do you like the fireworks?"
Hearing the familiar, mocking voice, Jade and her soldiers raised their heads to the wall.
Nioh stood on it, his hands folded across his chest, a smug expression on his face. Beside him stood Nicolas and Blood eye, the two notorious pirate lords.
"Nicolas and Blood eye... The Brute and One-Shot... I didn't expect both of you to be under the God Wolf," Jade said, her words reaching the three on the wall.
"You know us, but you still dared to attack... What outcome are you expecting?" Blood eye asked, her arms still folded.
Jade smirked, attempting to regain her composure. "I was expecting the fall of this city... But you've already disrupted my plans, so I have to go all out!"
Jade raised her 4-starred elite-class sword into the air, but after a few seconds, the place was as quiet as a graveyard.
".....?" Jade was dumbfounded; even her soldiers were confused.
"Oh! You're calling your pilots, the ones on the battleships, right?" Nioh asked, his smirk widening.
Jade's smile vanished completely. She screamed in rage, "How do you know we were attacking?! And about the battleships?!"
"How ignorant. You attack this planet without thinking of any security defense. You just jumped in, thinking we are powerless. How stupid of you," Nicolas said coldly.
"Yes... at least know your enemy before acting," Blood eye added.
"Jade here is all about glory. She never thinks about the lives of her people. She only thinks about victory, not about the lives that helped her secure it," Nioh said, his voice laced with cold disdain.
Unable to accept the reality, Jade pulled out her phone and made a call.
______
[100 miles from their location.]
DING!!
Josephine, her golden armor covered in blood, picked up the phone from a dead soldier's hand and answered it.
"What happened?! Where are you guys?!!" Jade's frantic voice sounded from the other end.
"Oh, they're already on their way to their maker," Josephine said with a smile.
Silence.
"Who is this?!" Jade finally asked, her voice shaking with rage.
"The one whose kingdom you are attacking," Josephine replied.
"This is what you're going to do: tell your men to drop their weapons, and you all should surrender to me... You already saw your ships falling to the ground, and the ones here are still standing... I don't want more deaths, that's why I'm giving you this opportunity."
CLICK!
Josephine looked at the disconnected phone and shook her head. "So stupid... Is she willingly giving away the lives of ten thousand soldiers?" she asked, crushing the phone in her hand.
"That woman is arrogant, and her ego is too big," Jinx said, her face obscured by her cloak hood.
"Okay then. I will wipe her people out, but do we really need to keep her alive? I know it's Sunny's plan, but that lady deserves to die," Josephine said.
"I agree, but we must look at the bigger picture... The Queen is the main boss, and we must take her down... Killing Jade won't change anything," Jinx said, then turned and walked away.
"I will get ready. You should too," she added.
Josephine nodded. With a flick of her wrist, fifty grand-class mercenaries in golden armor appeared around her.
"Guard these 50 battleships," she said, and entered one.
"Jade, fall into the trap," Josephine added, flying toward her kingdom.
______
[Back to Jade.]
Jade crushed the phone in her hand and threw it on the ground.
"These bastards killed all our men and dare to ask us to surrender!!" she yelled, her eyes filled with killing intent.
"I don't care what happened today!! You all must die!!" She pointed her sword at Nioh.
"These mercenaries are strong, but I doubt you have that many! Because if you do, you wouldn't be asking us to surrender!!" She yelled, her voice raw with rage.
"Charge! And kill anyone you set your eyes on."
"YESSS!!!"
The soldiers let out battle cries and charged toward the wall, instantly opening fire at the ten mercenaries.
{Absolute defense.}
One of the mercenaries used Sunny's strongest defensive skill, enveloping all ten of them in a gleaming force field.
"This... that won't stop us!! Continue charging!!" Jade yelled.
"Can someone be so stupid?" Nicolas asked in confusion.
"She thinks we are weak because we asked them to surrender," Blood eye said with a smirk.
"Then," Nioh's face turned cold. "Let's show her why they are inferior to us."
The three waved their hands, and endless amounts of small, circular mercenary chips flew through the air and landed on the ground.
"This?"
The charging enemy soldiers slowed down, seeing the chips. They watched in a daze as all the chips transformed into mercenaries, numbering in the millions. All of them were armed and ready for battle.
".....?!"
"What the hell?" Jade instantly turned pale, the confidence draining from her face as she stared at the impossible army.
