Chapter 100: Fights Between Official Disciples Aren't Easy!
It had been 15 minutes since the start of the fight between Wang and Kirill, and up till now, there was no sign of them being tired, not to mention a winner showing up.
By now, most outer sect disciples and the majority of inner sect disciples couldn't help but stop spectating due to the constant movement that hurt one's brain.
And the other fights, aside from the core disciples one, had already ended and moved on 3 times.
The new disciples started showing signs of fatigue from the first minute due to their lack of experience, and by the third, a winner was already announced and the next fighters took the stage.
The other batches fared much better, but due to the difference between disciples, they also didn't last more than the new disciples, at most reaching 7 minutes before going all out and ending the battle.
Inner sect disciples, however, needed more than 10 minutes to start showing any intent at finishing the battles, and they did that intentionally to show the outer sect disciples the difference between them.
Forget core sect disciples; even inner sect disciples were far beyond what they could dream of attaining any time soon.
And it was true; most outer sect disciples had no chance of becoming inner sect disciples, and there was an undebatable difference between each member.
Right now, the second fight of the inner disciples was on the verge of starting while 4 of the new batch were on the verge of ending.
Lu's batch had two equally matched opponents who were taking their time, and Adam's batch seemed to have risen a notch during this match and were taking their leisurely time to fight it out.
Another 5 minutes passed, and only then did Kirill and Wang speed up their match and aim to end it once and for all.
Due to their lack of numbers, winning once meant passing to the next phase, and the remaining fights would only be there to assess their ranking.
Ken has been watching their fight intently, but at some point when it stalled and there wasn't much to learn any longer, he changed his focus to the core disciples' fight.
But aside from a change of techniques, they weren't much different; their moves weren't as efficient, and their techniques and actions weren't as well planned, but they were more like unpolished gems in an elder's hands than complete wastrels compared to official disciples.
In short, the only difference between an official disciple and a core disciple was the fact that the former had one-on-one guidance from an elder who knew them as well as the back of their hands, and they had been taught personal techniques that those very same elders had been refining for thousands of years.
Thus, there was still a chance for core disciples to reach the level of an official disciple and even defeat one as long as it didn't reach the point of using supreme techniques
After all, even core disciples had guidance from elders regularly; they only lacked a master.
Ken's attention returned to Kirill and Wang when he noticed some very powerful and wide movements coming from their side.
The entire arena quaked, and it was obvious that they started using their most powerful attacks.
Instead of close-ranged combat, they resorted to wide-ranged, extremely dangerous techniques that required a lot of attention, careful defense, and a lot of right moves.
*BOOOM* *Fwshh* *THUD* *BOOOM*
Punch after punch was deflected by palms, only for a dozen other swift attacks to be launched by Wang that were either blocked or evaded by Kirill.
The entire space of their arena had been reached as they ran in circles at crazy speeds. Ken couldn't even fathom the number of times they must have run in circles around it anymore.
But so far, he was sure they have yet to use any supreme technique, and most of their techniques could be found on the 3rd or higher floors of the library—nothing crazy.
And then fundamentals that came from unmastered Useful Records that he recognized very well mixed with some personal variations here and there that covered that lack of mastery over the technique.
This was his current study of the official disciples, and he had a hard time gathering this surface information when they were limited to the first stage of qi refining when in reality they were far beyond that.
If they used these very same techniques while in their most powerful state, they could very well change the landscape of the entire Entertainment Core and possibly an area of the outer sect if it wasn't protected by formations.
Then, things changed for a second time.
Kirill and Wang both started floating, one in a lotus position and the other with confidence, standing straight and his chest inflated almost as if from pride.
Ken wondered if they were going to use the supreme techniques, and they most definitely were going for the final strike.
Swirls of energy started showing up behind Kirill in dark and red, and in the sky, clouds of blue and gold appeared, and sharp swords, massive in size, emerged from them.
A second, another, and then a third, and the area around their arena was flashed by a brilliant light that blinded anyone looking for exactly 10 seconds.
And by the time it disappeared, Kirill walked out with Wang hanging a hand over his shoulder.
Anyone who said they've just unleashed some crazy powerful technique would be called a liar, as aside from seeming like two friends who had just gone through a motorcycle accident and were laughing it off, there was nothing else to prove such a fact.
But it was obvious that Kirill had won this round, and what more fearsome was the fact that they still hadn't gone all out, even with them being so limited in strength.
Indeed, fights between official disciples could never be easy.
